"I stayed a year ago for two months. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had three meals a day in a shared dining room. The food was excellent. My only complaint was that their servings were too large. The rooms were very large. The resident rooms and the common spaces were kept very clean. They had shared common rooms like we had Wii bowling in a TV room, they had bingo in a community room, and they had happy hour on Fridays in the front lobby. I got a lot of value out of it."

"Danbury Broadview Heights is the most caring community. From the first time you walk in the door, you can almost feel the warmth and the caring, and it's individual. You can feel almost like you're the only one. Each person receives their individual attention. It's amazing how you can feel so at home right away. I had lost my husband. It had been his dream for us to be here. After his death, my daughter came to me and said, "Mom, they're waiting on you. They already have your room." I came, and it was like home. I could cry if I needed to or I could be around the wonderful group of truly caring caregivers, those that were already residents here. You can go out and talk to the people or you can spend time in your room and they check on you. There is a nurse here every day. They have a library and a courtyard. I'm on the second floor and I have a front porch that I can sit out on. I have neighbors all around me. You're never far from a member of the staff. They're always available. There's bingo. We all get together and talk. For those that are not really active or talkative, it gives them an opportunity to be around others and yet feel free to be themselves and that's what we are. The food is delicious. I'm perfectly happy here."

"I took my friend over at Rockport Senior Living, but she was stubborn. She said it was too small, but it seemed fine to me. They had a dining room and a small room with the TV. She'd be pretty well set there. She just didn't think it was big enough. It's a nice facility. The people there were friendly. It was a good place. They had elevators and nurses on duty. It would be a nice place for her."

"I liked Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville. My tour experience was very good. They had a lot to offer. I liked the way their dining room was set up. The rooms were pretty. They're spacious and secure to keep an eye on my mom when she's there. It is unique as far as having a heat sensor to check on her."

"I met the Community development director at Cardinal Court, when considering possible long term care for my father in the future. She was professional and kind. She walked me through the process for if that time came and continued to check in with me for support and encouragement as I cared for my father. On one of those calls, I expressed the turn of events that I was having at the "Rehab Facility", she along with the Administrative director and the Nursing director help me get my fathered transferred and settled in at Cardinal Court, asap. Within a few months my father was social, active, walking again, eating and happy! I cannot express our appreciation for the care and love you've all shown him. Everyone from the awesome Nursing staff and Caregiver's; to the secretary and receptionist, the Business manager; the activities coordinator; the head chef, the maintenance director and 'Everyone' in between, "Thank You"!! "Woodside Village was very nice. The whole facility was very nice. The rooms were spacious. The one that we were looking at was a one-bedroom kind of studio that would have been perfect. It had its own bathroom with a walk-in shower and rails everywhere. It seemed like a very nice facility. The people that were there seemed very happy. We walked by the dining area while they were eating and they kind of get a little menu selection that they can order from each meal. It looked like everybody had something different and it looked pretty good. The sanitation of this facility looked good. "

"My sister moved into here. The place is beautiful. The rooms are small, like all of them, but it's very clean. When you walk in the door of their restaurant, it's almost like a restaurant. So, you don't get a lot of the smell that you get at some of the other places. It smells like food and it's very clean. You sign in and sign out, so whoever is at the desk has always been friendly. They have a whole calendar of activities. They have trivia nights, music nights, a movie theater, and a gym, and they're always doing something. My sister said the food is very good. It's only been a couple of weeks, but she's very happy. Everything I hear from her is positive."

"Alpine House of Maple Heights is assisted living. It's a smaller dwelling that's more secure than where my father is now, so I give them props on the security. The food comes with the rent so you don't have to pay extra for meals, so I give them credit on that as well. And it's affordable for elderly citizens who are on a fixed income and don't have extra money. This one is elderly-friendly. There's no trouble trying to connect with the staff. We haven't tried the food but they showed us the meals. At the time that I applied, there was one room available that would have been on the second floor. They were accommodating of the fact that I wanted to make it difficult for him to leave, so they were going to put him on the second floor."

"Light of Hearts Villa is an assisted living facility that goes above and beyond what a family expects. Rooms are spacious even the efficiency suites. All have private bathrooms and kitchenettes. But none of that is important if the staff is not caring, professional and knowledgeable. Each resident is treated as an individual with his/her own likes and dislikes. Each is provided with the care needed and yet challenged to keep as much independence as they can. Staff is amazing and happy!!! Residents choose to actively engage or not in the activities provided but staff doesn't often let anyone just sit around doing nothing! Because the building was former high school there are large open spaces available for gathering of residents that many other facilities don't have. I would strongly encourage you to visit Light of Hearts Villa BEFORE a crisis hits in your family. It is always best to be prepared with a loving community in the background offering support! "
