"I toured Danbury in Brunswick, and it's very nice. The staff was wonderful, they have a chef, and food and dining room were fabulous. They have physical therapy, an exercise room, a full-size theater, and bistro where you can get beer and wine. They have living rooms outside the rooms every 500 meters."

"The staff at Sunrise at Parma was very good. The place was very cozy, and the residents were always up and about and engaged. I saw them doing an activity. The room was just too small. The food was good. I saw both their assisted living and memory care facilities. They had an activity room, birds, a dog, a game room, a library, and gardens."

"My grandmother did a respite stay at Maplewood at Cuyahoga Falls. I liked their approach. My grandmother was in a hospital setting with COVID. We reached out and we wanted to get her respite care (mainly from a therapy rehab perspective) and they worked with us in tandem. She was hospitalized almost 50 miles from the facility. I had family in that area, so I opted to bring her there for a short stay. They made a very easy transition. They kept in constant communication with our family and she had a very positive outcome. She got therapy one-on-one. She came in the door in a wheelchair, and she was walking within just a few days with assistance, but is in much bigger, better spirits, eating good meals and getting her medication in a timely manner. She was there for just a little over 30 days and she was able to go back home successfully with the therapy and the good care that she received. From the time that we walked in, there was a welcome sign greeting her at the door. The leadership team was all very friendly and very knowledgeable. They all played a different factor in her stay. The facility was very clean. The food was good. She had a good opportunity to try some different meals she's not necessarily had in the past or something she had received every day. It's a good variety and fresh. It was just a good experience. We have no complaints. Each and everyone of the staff played a critical role in her outcome and I can't speak any higher regards. They were fabulous. She'd never had a filet mignon and she was offered that as an option on a Wednesday evening there, so in her eyes, it would be five-star. We have zero complaints. The facility was very clean and very detailed. Housekeeping was done every day to launder anything that needed taken to the laundry, trash was pulled every day, any dirty dishes or anything, they took care of those right away. What I liked about that was they actually asked us as a family to complete a booklet called Staying Connected, and it helped us kind of prompt our memory and identify hobbies that she once enjoyed as a much younger individual through adulthood and things that she's still doing today. It prompted a lot of good memories. They were invested in her. They wanted to know how they can make her stay more desirable and they did. We were pleased with the pricing and we were able to use some of her long-term care insurance benefits as well. We had talked to some of the other families that were there when we were looking around and they had good things to say and the residents seemed genuinely happy."

"Summit Corners has very good customer service. They also have very good facilities that are kept up well. It's a beautiful setting/environment. There was one room, and I took some pictures of it. It's not too bad. It's a little bit small, but it has a big closet. It's private, so I like that my mom would not have to have a roommate, and that's a plus. It's more like a home instead of like a regular nursing home. I didn't try out the food, but the staff member who gave me the tour says it's very good. It sounded good from the menu, and the staff says she eats it herself."

"My mother has been a resident at Danbury in Hudson for 4 months now since needing more care and assistance with medications. She was previously in Springwood, the sister facility for independent living. The transition to Danbury was easy and well-managed by the staff and administration. The staff (nurses, care-givers, dining, maintenance, and front desk/office) have been simply OUTSTANDING. I really can't say enough about how friendly and kind every single person has been to my mom. My sister and I rest much easier knowing she's getting the care and attention she needs. The activities are frequent and varied. In hindsight for my mom wishes she had moved to Danbury sooner. My sister and I advocated for it but mom was too happy with her apartment and friends at Springwood. If she had moved a bit sooner, she would have had an easier time getting into all the activities and options available. The other residents are all friendly and welcoming. The facilities are quite lovely. The common spaces allow for plenty of space to visit with friends and family. The rooms vary in size and most tend to be on the smaller side. That worried mom at first, but her studio apartment is set up quite nicely for her needs and she's quite happy with it. I think the food is above average for an assisted living facility. I like it. The combination of the dining room plus a mix of happy hours, mixers, ice cream Sunday bars, etc. provide good variety. I'll repeat the most important part, the staff, especially the nurses, care-givers and dining staff, are so welcoming, kind, and helpful. It's truly impressive to see, and I'm very thankful."

"I review many area independent and assistant living facilities and by far Summit Point was an easy decision. My mother has been at Summit Point for over a year and I can not say enough great things about the managing and the extremely great caring staff that are always so helpful. The have many organized get togethers for the residents throughout the week to keep everyone busy as well as the residents helping each other out when in need. The living suites are updated and extremely clean.. The grand foyer is always decorated for all special accasions for the residents to enjoy. The Dining room is beautiful and their dining staff are very helpful to each resident for each of their needs as well as sweet and courteous to their residents and visiting guests. HIGHLEY RECOMMEND!!! "

"Cardinal Retirement Village was nice and large. The assisted living was at the back, and the residents who didn’t need extra help were in the front, so we had to walk further to see the assisted living side. It was hard to know what's on the menu because of the way they had the menu written. The people, apartments, and the whole place were nice. Mom would have had two rooms: a sitting room and a really nice bedroom. There's a porch off of everybody's apartment, so you can sit outside if you wanted to. "

"I had a very nice and informative tour at Vitalia Senior Residences at Stow. The girl's name that took me around was Kerry, she was very attentive and did a very good job. It's a very nice facility, I just didn't feel like right now it was for me, but maybe in the future. The rooms were nice, they were up to date, they were clean and they were good sized. They had studios and apartments. They had a good variety of nice activities that are very accommodating to everybody's interests. I had a snack there, it was nice."

"Vitalia Active Adult Community at North Royalton had excellent meals, snacks, and food options. It was a brand new place. It was fantastic. Their bedroom was nice. They gave a good presentation of their place. The price was just pretty high."

"Cardinal Court is a very new, clean, and modern community. I felt that they're too new. The person who gave me the tour had only been there for a couple of days and couldn't really offer me a lot of knowledge about the community. There weren't many residents yet, so it felt like we were walking around in an empty building. The staff members were all in one room because there was a family party, and once I met them, I could see that they were very engaged. I was shown a nice-sized, bright, and clean private room with its own bathroom. They provide three meals a day plus snacks. I think they need to build their business first. They don't provide transportation, so I would have to pick up my dad for his doctors' appointments."

"I've been to Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls. A friend of mine who's moved away, her mom is there with Alzheimer's, and we try and visit her like once a couple of weeks, or once a month. It's a lovely facility, the food is amazing, and the Alzheimer's unit is very small and very well taken care of. I noticed the same staff is there whenever I go, so that's kind of nice too. It's always clean, they don't have people just hanging in a chair, they try to get them active and involved, and there's a point where they wanted people to come down and relax, but they're wonderful, and I really like them there. It's nicely set up, they have a kitchen area, and an area where they'll feed the people, it's setup table wise, it's a nice, big, open room, and it's very, very nice. I ate there last Christmas, and it's excellent. They had a wonderful dinner for everybody. I've been there during meal times, and they had just lots of choices, it seemed that they knew what the people liked, and had lots of choices for everybody."

"In 2008, we lost our dear, 78 yr. old mother. My father had been an amazing caregiver to her for over a decade, due to her chronic illnesses. However, for the last few weeks of her life, she needed skilled nursing care. We were fortunate to find placement for her at Mount Alverna, where she had worked 20 yrs. ago. Each of the staff there cared for her like she was their own mother. They would even style her hair and paint her nails. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2010, we lost our beloved father in less than a month. It was his request to also die at Mount Alverna. The 15 days he spent their, prior to his death, were for us "time in God's waiting room." Again, our experience with ALL the staff, was something for which our family is forever appreciative. "
