"This is a very nice community and not institutional at all. Mom can set up her apartment with lots of room for furniture and storage. The best is the outdoor living areas. Apartments have screened-in porches to enjoy the outdoors without mosquitoes (Only community to have such). There are residents of all ages here with a very active lifestyle program. Food is also very good as we had dinner from an extensive menu. Overall a very beautiful setting. "

"We toured The Inn at Apple Ridge. They showed us the whole thing. We started in the assisted living and then we walked into the memory care area to see that whole section. It was all very nice. It was beautiful. When you walk in, the dining room is right there and the chapel is beautiful. They have a bar and it's just so clean. It's like you're in a five-star hotel. It was just unbelievable, but I felt it was too big of a facility for my aunt, that's why we didn't go with them. The staff was very informative, very friendly, answered all of our questions, and very knowledgeable. Their garden area was beautiful and they had a kitchen area. Everything was immaculate."

"Katie, the Exec Director of Danbury Woods is less than personable. Seems a bit standoffish. Does not seem to interact with residents. Love Heather as Life Enrichment Director, always upbeat & creative with activities. Joyce does fabulous job of menu planning & is attentive to resident likes & dislikes. Front desk personnel top-notch."

"I will be moving into Vitalia Senior Residences at Stow today. It's just 7 minutes from my house. I looked into their assisted living, but they didn't have a 1-bedroom apartment. I had to bring my dog and just a studio room would not be enough. We decided that independent living would be perfect for me. It's very nice, and the apartment is perfect. It's a 2-bedroom with 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a nice kitchen. They have a laundry room and a closet; it's just perfect. The staff were very nice and accommodating during my tour. They have a swimming pool for independent living. If you're in assisted living, you have to have a doctor's order to do that. They have a dining room that's open all day. It's just a lovely setting. I have a little patio, and it looks out to the woods."

"We toured here and it was a good experience. The people were very nice. They answered our questions. The rooms and apartments were fine. They had all kinds of activities for people like bingo, but my mom would not want to do any of those. What I liked the most about it was probably the homey atmosphere. It was a smaller facility."

"Mulberry Gardens Senior Living was spic and span. It was neat and clean, even the rooms that I toured. Each place was set up differently, but they were basically the same. Some of them had refrigerators and a little kitchenette. Some of the places had stoves. The staff during the tour was great. They answered my questions. They were pleasant. They even showed me a couple of places and the dining facilities. They had tables and chairs. It was like a restaurant. You sit down and order food. They bring it out to you. They had a gym for when you want to exercise. They had social hours, where they gather and play cards or play games. The food was great. They had laundry facilities and cleaning services. They change the linens when they do housekeeping."

"Dementia is brutal. Watching a loved one slowly decline is heartbreaking and devastating. Having said that, Danbury has been a lifesaver to my mother and our family. When my mother required memory care, she was nervous and very apprehensive. It is a huge change - giving up independence and accepting the inevitable. The aides, nurses and entire staff made her feel welcome, respected, engaged and safe. They have taken the time to learn what she likes and dislikes to eat; the activities she enjoys; how she likes her hair; and the things that bring her happiness. The place is clean and spacious. The food is tasty and the choices are endless. The Bistro is wonderful to visit and listen to the jukebox and enjoy some coffee or some ice cream. They frequently schedule lunches or gatherings for family and friends. The place is perfect!"

"I went to Eden Vista of Stow. We liked that it looked clean and homey, not like a big, fancy hotel. The apartments had a living area, a kitchen area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The person who took us around was very friendly and very informative."

"Hudson Grande Senior Living had assisted living and the memory care was a locked down unit. It was very nice, it was all one floor with different hallways, and it's very clean. You couldn't even tell it was assisted living or a nursing home. It was very orderly. We had lunch there and it gave you the atmosphere of being in a restaurant. There were a lot of things on the menu and we're really impressed. The portions were adequate. The staff was great and very friendly. They had recreation rooms for activities and they gave us a calendar of what they do for the month. I would highly recommend that place."

"My mother has been a resident at Danbury in Hudson for 4 months now since needing more care and assistance with medications. She was previously in Springwood, the sister facility for independent living. The transition to Danbury was easy and well-managed by the staff and administration. The staff (nurses, care-givers, dining, maintenance, and front desk/office) have been simply OUTSTANDING. I really can't say enough about how friendly and kind every single person has been to my mom. My sister and I rest much easier knowing she's getting the care and attention she needs. The activities are frequent and varied. In hindsight for my mom wishes she had moved to Danbury sooner. My sister and I advocated for it but mom was too happy with her apartment and friends at Springwood. If she had moved a bit sooner, she would have had an easier time getting into all the activities and options available. The other residents are all friendly and welcoming. The facilities are quite lovely. The common spaces allow for plenty of space to visit with friends and family. The rooms vary in size and most tend to be on the smaller side. That worried mom at first, but her studio apartment is set up quite nicely for her needs and she's quite happy with it. I think the food is above average for an assisted living facility. I like it. The combination of the dining room plus a mix of happy hours, mixers, ice cream Sunday bars, etc. provide good variety. I'll repeat the most important part, the staff, especially the nurses, care-givers and dining staff, are so welcoming, kind, and helpful. It's truly impressive to see, and I'm very thankful."

"Regent of Stow was a nice place I would consider acceptable. They have good staff there. They have a good facility. They have a doctor and nurses that they employ. They have a movie theater and a nice dining hall. They play bingo, and they have recreational activities. The place seemed clean. We were there around lunchtime and people were being served. What I saw on the table looked all right, but we didn't have a chance to sample any of it. The staff during the tour was very nice and pleasant. She's a nurse and one of the management people there."

"The memory care unit is beautiful and always clean. My Dad loves the meals! The staff is extremely caring and always accessible if I have questions or need something for my Dad. The ladies that run the activities are amazing! I am very happy that we chose Danbury for his home. I feel confident that he is well cared for. "

"The one that we chose is Brookdale Medina North. It had the nicest kitchen arrangements, and I also favored it because they have their residents wear pendant call buttons at all times. They were all very nice, and I had no problems with them. It was spacious, clean and well-decorated, with pleasant staff. The only one that we pursued for lunch was the Brookdale, and my mother was happy with that. "
