"This is a very nice community and not institutional at all. Mom can set up her apartment with lots of room for furniture and storage. The best is the outdoor living areas. Apartments have screened-in porches to enjoy the outdoors without mosquitoes (Only community to have such). There are residents of all ages here with a very active lifestyle program. Food is also very good as we had dinner from an extensive menu. Overall a very beautiful setting. "

"I went to The Inn at Apple Ridge. The tour went very well. They were very informative and very clean. It was a very cozy environment. I was very impressed with it. I think the residents there are happy to be there. That's their new home. The rooms were a nice size. However, in my opinion, if somebody were to go in, they might need to have carpets cleaned. Otherwise, the rooms were spacious, there was storage for clothing, and they had their own bathroom, so that was very nice. Everything was within each room I had two people who gave me a tour, a nurse and an office administrator. They were both very friendly and kind. They have community-socializing rooms like a home theater, which is very nice. They have a beauty salon within the property. They have a small lounge where you could go and have a beverage once a week to socialize. They have a truck that could take you out if you wanted to go do a little shopping for yourself. They have a small store where you can purchase a couple of things if you wanted to snack on something. They have an exercise room. The facility is really well maintained. The dining area is very nice. It's carpeted. They serve you at the table. They have a fireplace. It was just a very cozy environment. When I went in the morning, I could see a table with probably eight residents, and they were sitting and talking. So, it made me comfortable to see that people were socializing. They weren't just staying in their rooms, and I think they enjoyed being there."

"The rooms are relatively small but in good condition and sufficient enough space. The food has been pretty good. Maybe having snacks or drinks out with more accessibility for residents, would be nice. The staff have always been great. Very willing to help. They are professional and caring. They could use more staff."

"I will be moving into Vitalia Senior Residences at Stow today. It's just 7 minutes from my house. I looked into their assisted living, but they didn't have a 1-bedroom apartment. I had to bring my dog and just a studio room would not be enough. We decided that independent living would be perfect for me. It's very nice, and the apartment is perfect. It's a 2-bedroom with 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a nice kitchen. They have a laundry room and a closet; it's just perfect. The staff were very nice and accommodating during my tour. They have a swimming pool for independent living. If you're in assisted living, you have to have a doctor's order to do that. They have a dining room that's open all day. It's just a lovely setting. I have a little patio, and it looks out to the woods."

"Barberton Pointe Senior Living was nice. There was a lot of space. The rooms were more than adequate. They were a little bigger than the other facility. Food was good, and the people were very, very nice. They were going through some refurbishment of the facility, too. There were lots of games, music rooms, and a library that were very interesting."

"Mulberry Gardens Senior Living was spic and span. It was neat and clean, even the rooms that I toured. Each place was set up differently, but they were basically the same. Some of them had refrigerators and a little kitchenette. Some of the places had stoves. The staff during the tour was great. They answered my questions. They were pleasant. They even showed me a couple of places and the dining facilities. They had tables and chairs. It was like a restaurant. You sit down and order food. They bring it out to you. They had a gym for when you want to exercise. They had social hours, where they gather and play cards or play games. The food was great. They had laundry facilities and cleaning services. They change the linens when they do housekeeping."

"I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Jennifer (Activities Coordinator) at Danbury in Tallmadge. She is so creative and puts a smile on all the residents faces. All the activities are so much fun. I cannot thank her enough for all that she is doing for my mom and so many others at Danbury. She is really making a difference. Thank You!!!"

"I went to Eden Vista of Stow. We liked that it looked clean and homey, not like a big, fancy hotel. The apartments had a living area, a kitchen area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The person who took us around was very friendly and very informative."

"Hudson Grande Senior Living had assisted living and the memory care was a locked down unit. It was very nice, it was all one floor with different hallways, and it's very clean. You couldn't even tell it was assisted living or a nursing home. It was very orderly. We had lunch there and it gave you the atmosphere of being in a restaurant. There were a lot of things on the menu and we're really impressed. The portions were adequate. The staff was great and very friendly. They had recreation rooms for activities and they gave us a calendar of what they do for the month. I would highly recommend that place."

"Regent of Stow was a nice place I would consider acceptable. They have good staff there. They have a good facility. They have a doctor and nurses that they employ. They have a movie theater and a nice dining hall. They play bingo, and they have recreational activities. The place seemed clean. We were there around lunchtime and people were being served. What I saw on the table looked all right, but we didn't have a chance to sample any of it. The staff during the tour was very nice and pleasant. She's a nurse and one of the management people there."

"Everyone on the staff is friendly with the exception of the kitchen staff, who are efficient but seem unfriendly/unhappy. The overall atmosphere is positive and supportive, and the facility is bright, clean and open feeling. As a daily visitor, it was quite apparent that more aides were much needed, as call button wait times were often in excess of 40 minutes and front desk assistance was sometimes enlisted to get a response for urgent needs. Nursing staff and aides were great, very warm and encouraging. Administrative staff were frequently difficult to access. The executive director was very helpful and kind and responsive to our concerns"

"My mother-in-law moved here. We chose it because of the location. We like the security of the facility. It feels like a hotel, not a senior living facility. It's very clean, and they have friendly staff. The biggest thing I want to stress is they went above and beyond the day we moved in to help us. Due to COVID, food is being delivered to the rooms currently. She loves the food. I would do four stars because the eggs are cold in the morning. When they can finally go back to the dining room, I'm sure it will be better. But she's happy with the food. They normally do have activities, but because of COVID, there's no activity now. There's a library, a room that you can rent for large parties, a beauty shop, and there's a snack shop."
