My brother moved into Brookdale Montrose. They had a very good follow-through, and they kept it while he was in the hospital awaiting placement. They came to see him, they had a nurse out there. They coordinated the transfer from the hospital to their home. They had the room ready, all the beds ready, I talked to the nurses out there. The transition went smoothly. We've been to see him every day in the last two weeks. He's out of bed in his wheelchair. He's making good progress as far as physically, and it's been very good. They do physical therapy through an instructor and a video on television. There are only like 15 people in the unit, and they have three people assigned to the unit around the clock. So it's very good care. Everything in the room is spotlessly clean every day. The laundry has been kept up, they have a very, very good system of doing the laundry, and the facility is very clean overall. We're very satisfied. They're planning a big St. Patrick's Day party, and they're very organized. They have a lot of games and stuff.

Brookdale Montrose was a very, very beautiful facility, but when I asked the question of what would happen if my sister's funds ran out/if she outlived her funds, I was told that they would help us find a place for her. That's not what I wanted to hear. The apartments were very nice. They had a lot of common areas with tables and chairs where people could congregate and do puzzles or whatever. They have several of those areas. Their dining area was nice. The facilities seemed very clean.

I would STRONGLY suggest families have a camera in their loved one's room. (and be sure to store the videos) We took my mother to Brookdale Montrose in late August. We were told "now you can be her kids again instead of her caretaker." We spent more time watching her once she was there, We met some very nice, supportive and caring staff. We were met with several of the staff complaining of the staffing shortages that kept them from being able to do the job they were supposed to do. However, I felt my mother should not have had to suffer due to management not properly hiring or scheduling. (The patient/staff ratio was one of the questions we asked before placing my mom) She went to stay with a family member for two weeks because she was exposed to Covid. The medicine she was sent home with was not even hers!!! The director of the facility came on picked up the meds and brought the correct ones. They were supposed to clean her room -- my sister had to clean it and do her laundry. There were many times she was left in her room all day without a single staff member checking to be sure she was ok. She fell one night getting up to go to restroom. We called to have someone go help her. (calling them is ridiculous as no one seems to want to answer the phone). When a nurse finally came in to help her, she picked her up off the floor and began rubbing her back!! She should have known not to do this. My mother had broken her back in that fall. (if it hadn't been for us having the camera in her room who knows how long she would have been on the floor in pain) She was in the hospital and then in rehab. We now have her at home (we quit our job) Then to have to pay for the 1-1/2 months she was in hospital/rehab was the icing on the cake!!

My mother moved into Brookdale Montrose. Some things are good, and some are not so good. She hates it there, and that's the bottom line. She's got one bedroom, a bathroom, a living room, 2 walk-in closets, and a kitchen. It's a very, very nice apartment. But the place is outdated and not clean. The carpets in the hallway are filthy. Most of the staff is great, but the guy who runs tthe place promised he'd do things and he never does. They had a power outage for about 45 minutes and you couldn't get out unless you could walk down the stairs. So, I have safety concerns. The food is pretty good. But they bring them up from the first floor, and so a lot of times if it's supposed to be hot, it's not. It's not what they presented it to be, and it could be that they assumed my mother was a little bit more independent than she was. If you ring the buzzer, they may not come for 10 or 15 minutes. And by then, she's done with the reason why she called them to help her in the restroom. They're doing the best they can, but it's certainly not what they presented to us.

I liked Brookdale Montrose. They had a nice outdoor area. They had a nice kitchen area and a nice dining area. What I didn't like about it was it was smaller, like there were not as many residents, but I did see people playing a small version of cornhole. The staff member was really nice. In fact, she's even called me since just to check and see how my dad is doing and everything, which I thought was really nice. I saw an efficiency room that we liked a lot that actually had a wall that's divided into two, so it was like it had a separate bedroom. They showed us a couple of different rooms and we thought they were all adequate, but they didn't have a kitchenette. They didn't have the fridge and the microwave, which our dad needed.

My mom is at Brookdale Montrose. The housekeeping could be better. The charges are exorbitant compared to other Brookdale facilities. Theirs are completely doubled. The meals are OK once they settle with a chef. We had a lot of chef switches so that for a while the meals were not very good, but they're adequate now. They provide medication oversight and assistance in transferring. They will do a shower with Mom, they will assist in feeding her, and in getting her to activities. For those who want to participate, they have Friday evening music, a happy hour, crafts, movie nights, exercise, and a walking group.

I toured Brookdale Montrose. They have no pool, but they have two meals a day. It was very nice. I had lunch there and I had a hamburger. It was very good. As for activities, they have everything. They have an exercise room.

I visited all levels of care of Brookdale Montrose. It was great. Their memory care was remodeled; it was nice. They had an outdoor screened-in patio. It was clean. I felt like if you had to put someone in there, it was nice. The room was nice, and it was very clean. The staff was friendly and very nice. The girl that took us around was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. I met the director. She came over, and she was great. The rooms were very nice, very large, and affordable.

I have a 90 year dear friend that lives there and I can not say enough good things about this place. Her apartment has a patio and I was able to plant flowers in her flower garden that gives her such joy. She has a wonderful view and apartment. The staff there is excellent! I wouldn’t have her live any place else. Love it, Love it❤️

My mother is now located at Brookdale Montrose. She has been there for a week now. Mother is having a hard time adjusting, but the staff has been very supportive and attentive. Her room is very nice. They remodeled it. It's a one-bedroom with a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and a balcony. It's very nice. So far, we're very pleased. They have a small dining room for assisted living, but they can also use the main dining room if they'd like. She can eat in her room also, if she wants to. The food is very good. It's hot. It looks very nutritious, and it's coming on time. We haven't gotten that far into my mother's stay there, but they have daily activities starting in the morning through the dinner time. They have walking, and they have a van that takes people for scenic rides if they'd like. They schedule all sorts of activities. They always have something going on in the main lounge. Also we walked in on a recognition of staff, where all the residents could come and have refreshments. It was just really nice. The facility is nice, neat, and clean. You see staff out and about. They're friendly, and the grounds at the entrance are very nicely done. They have a courtyard in the back, and it looks like they have a lot of flowers. She is getting good care.

We toured Brookdale Montrose for my mom, and I would say it's very nice. The place was very clean. The people were professional. The rooms and the apartments were spotless. The one who toured us was very nice. I would say the facilities are very clean and very well kept.

I saw a 1-bedroom with a den at Brookdale Montrose, and another 1-bedroom. They were very nice. They gave me a sample meal; it was very good. The staff members are very friendly. I had to take my dad to the doctor that day, and I called them and said I wasn't going to be able to make the tour, but I was just going to ride by to see where it was. They were waiting for me out front. As I drove up, they said that I'm still not too late for the tour. They took me around even though I had missed the general tour. They were most friendly and they have called me back several times. The parking was good there too, it wasn't hard to find a place to park. I went straight in to view the apartments, I saw a lobby or something where you could go and sit; everything was very nice there. They were most gracious and everybody was very nice. The accommodations were very good. I saw one that was a model and they had it furnished, and then I saw one that didn't have any furnishings. So it was just very nice and very pleasant look at.

My brother is at Brookdale Montrose. They were very helpful in getting us moved in, and they gave us a break on some of the rates (at least for a while). They also helped get us hooked up with an organization for the aide. However, I just got an incorrect bill from them the other day, which basically had been paid, but they charged us more than they said they were gonna charge us. I'm in the process of dealing with them now on that because it's incorrect. They have independent living on the first floor, assisted living on the second floor, and memory care on the third floor. He's on the second floor. It's a little bit older than I expected. It wasn't a new facility, and he is in a wheelchair. It's not totally ADA accessible. The doors aren't wide, so he has a hard time getting his wheelchair through the doorways, but the facility is fairly clean and he says the food is pretty good. The care seems good so far. He's under quarantine, and nobody could go to activities. This place looked newer on the virtual tour, and then when I got there it was older, and not ADA accessible. The bathroom was really tiny. He can barely get his wheelchair in there. He can't even turn the wheelchair around. He literally has to go in forward and then back out.

My mother is at Brookdale Montrose. It's a pretty large facility, and she's very happy. It's very pleasant, and they have a nice dining room when they're allowed to use it. With COVID they've been delivering food to their rooms. They've got elevators. It's a two-story building, and some of the rooms are a little bit of a walk to get to because it's a big place. She's got a place where she feels very comfortable, and it's pretty large. She's got a one-bedroom, but it's got a den and a lot of closet space, more than what I've seen in some of the other places. The staff has been very helpful with her. They have a morning fitness class, a walking club, an art class, and movies. It's clean.

The staff at Brookdale Montrose is very nice, and the price was better for my mother in comparison to other independent living facilities in the area. They are undergoing some changes and they had a pretty big turnover, but my mother seems to be happy there. She likes the residents, and she found her own group of people to hang out with. They have outings on the bus, they play bingo, and there are exercise classes. They do her laundry and housekeeping, and the facility as a whole is upkept and clean. I've never heard her complain about anything.

Brookdale Montrose was excellent. We went to the intermediate care facility. They were very professional and very well organized and offered several levels of care depending on what was needed by the individual. It was very nice, and I was very glad to meet the individuals there. The staff was very caring. They seemed to be more highly qualified than some of the other places that I've seen. They had a good quality staff, at least those specifically responsible for the individuals that were there. Overall, I was very impressed with the facility. They offer quite a variety in their food. We toured some of the rooms and each floor had a different level of access and were guarded.

Brookdale Montrose has some of the largest apartment styles for Independent Living that I have seen. The two-bedroom we saw was beautiful, smelled great and was about 900 square feet! The best part is that their Assisted Living floor plans are identical and have full kitchens. The vibe we got when we entered the building was most unique. I did not expect to see to many active and happy faces. We visited on a Wednesday and there were tons of people in the common area where there was a popcorn cart and a bookmobile set up. Their activities director was so sweet and went through all the different programs my Mom might enjoy. I am very impressed with Brookdale. They know what they are doing.

Brookdale Montrose was fantastic. It was a beautiful place, and the rooms were great and bright. The staff was very nice, and they had a room where there's an outside entrance so I can take my dog out in the middle of the night when he has to go. Their meal selections look very good as well as their activities. Their religious aspect as far as being able to take you to church was very good. I can't really find a complaint with them, and I really enjoyed my visit with them. It's good.

Brookdale Montrose was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were small but very accommodating and clean. I was really disappointed that she could not get in there because she does not have the money. The staff who accommodated me was very nice. They had so many activities, like watching movies, knitting, painting, or just sitting outside conversing with peers. Their dining area looked very clean and nice, like going to a restaurant.

Brookdale Montrose was more upscale than the first facility I visited. Once a month, they have a veteran’s breakfast, which is one of the reasons why I liked it for my father as he is a veteran. Everything was wooded, and the grounds were pristine. Chefs cooked the breakfast, and there;s transportation to doctors' appointments and shopping.

Brookdale is excellent, and that’s where we recommend they go. It’s reasonably priced, clean, and with good food. They have a veteran’s breakfast once a month, and their chef is excellent.

Brookdale Montrose is very good for my parents. The staff have been extremely sympathetic, helpful, and very respectful of my parents. The rooms are spacious. I’ve eaten there three or four times as a guest of my parents, and the food is good. The dining room is very nice and looks like a restaurant. There are many different clubs and crafts, sporting events, and cocktail hours. My parents are pretty mobile, so they treat it like an apartment. They’re not totally dependent on the community for their social life. They go out a lot and have many friends who visit, aside from family. The place has a large community room, a card room, a library, and it’s located very close to a shopping center. They provide transportation for shopping and cultural events. They have a small family dining room off the main dining room, but we have a big family, so that room is not big enough. We’re very, very lucky to have our parents there.

Brookdale was very clean, and the people were very friendly. They had nice-sized apartments. We had a luncheon there, and the food was very good. There were a lot of programs for them to participate in. The staff really explained everything to us and gave us a lot of information. They gave us opportunities for him to visit us for a period of time, which we thought was very good. They take residents out twice a week for shopping. They have a library, a pool, and billiards room, plus all kinds of exercise activities that residents can be part of; you can participate as much as you want or as little as you want. If necessary, you could have your meals delivered right to the room, which is more like assisted living.

Brookdale Montrose was very nice. The lady that took us around was very good. I just got off the phone with her. She had invited us to a barbeque there. They seemed interested in caring for someone who has dementia.

I just visited. It was OK. The rooms were clean and nice. It was not really big, but it was OK. The security and safety is OK because I didn't see anything wrong with the place. Nothing stood out about the place. I wasn't set on going there anyway. One guy told me that you had to pay for everything there. I don't know, but he wasn't too happy.

My aunt has her own little apartment here. The rooms have a living room, a bathroom, and a kitchen with a little dining area. She can go down to the little dining room, and sometimes they have some activities down there. My sister said she liked the place when we were visiting my aunt. It is a nice area, and it’s close to the mall and supermarkets.

My parents lived here. We chose this facility for them because it was convenient for me. The facility is clean and it didn’t smell. The rooms were very nice. It was spacious. It was a two-bedroom apartment with a kitchen. The staff were wonderful and very courteous. The residents can either go downstairs to have their meals or they can also have their breakfast or lunch in their room if they wanted to. I had eaten there a lot of times and the food is excellent.

My father is currently here and we are very happy with the facility. He is very happy too. Many people had recommended the facility and that was the main thing as to how we knew about the facility. We are very happy with the staff, the food, the room, and the level of concern they had for my father when he had a problem and he had to go to a hospital. I take every opportunity I can to tell people what a great place it is.

For my grandmother, somebody from caring.com recommended this community. The location is convenient for my grandmother because it is near where she lives. It is a beautiful facility. To me, it is like a fancy hotel. They were very wonderful and accommodating when we visited. Their staff was very pleasant. It's clean and very well-managed. They have like a bird sanctuary, which is kind of cool. It is a nice little touch. The apartment that we saw is nice and of decent size. Chambrel is definitely a good place to go check out.

Mom was with Brookdale-Chambrel Montrose for five years and they were great. We grew fond with everybody there because they were super nice. My mom moved there with dementia and they let her remain independent with a lot of services. She had a beautiful apartment, which is a great big two-bedroom, two-bathroom place. The food was really good and the dining room was like an old college dining room. They had a lot of activities like exercise, outings, musical groups and people from the symphony came down to play. They had a current events group and there were people who write their own stories and they read them to each other. I would recommend them to others.
