"I went to Eden Vista of Stow. We liked that it looked clean and homey, not like a big, fancy hotel. The apartments had a living area, a kitchen area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The person who took us around was very friendly and very informative."

"My mother has been a resident at Danbury in Hudson for 4 months now since needing more care and assistance with medications. She was previously in Springwood, the sister facility for independent living. The transition to Danbury was easy and well-managed by the staff and administration. The staff (nurses, care-givers, dining, maintenance, and front desk/office) have been simply OUTSTANDING. I really can't say enough about how friendly and kind every single person has been to my mom. My sister and I rest much easier knowing she's getting the care and attention she needs. The activities are frequent and varied. In hindsight for my mom wishes she had moved to Danbury sooner. My sister and I advocated for it but mom was too happy with her apartment and friends at Springwood. If she had moved a bit sooner, she would have had an easier time getting into all the activities and options available. The other residents are all friendly and welcoming. The facilities are quite lovely. The common spaces allow for plenty of space to visit with friends and family. The rooms vary in size and most tend to be on the smaller side. That worried mom at first, but her studio apartment is set up quite nicely for her needs and she's quite happy with it. I think the food is above average for an assisted living facility. I like it. The combination of the dining room plus a mix of happy hours, mixers, ice cream Sunday bars, etc. provide good variety. I'll repeat the most important part, the staff, especially the nurses, care-givers and dining staff, are so welcoming, kind, and helpful. It's truly impressive to see, and I'm very thankful."

"My sister has been in Brookdale Montrose for a week now. I am very pleased with it. Of all the ones we visited, it was our first choice. The staff was very caring, very knowledgeable, and very helpful as we transitioned. The community is very nice looking. They take good care of it. The residents seem very happy there. What really sold us is, as we were touring, people would just come up unsolicited and just tell us that they hope we moved in, that we would love it there, and that they've been there three months, six months, or two years or whatever, and that they loved it there a lot. The residents seemed to really like it there, which helped sell us on the idea that it would be a good place for my sister to be. I have tried their food, and it's okay. They're very concerned about us liking it, so they came and asked us for positive and/or negative feedback. I think they're always trying to improve. They also have a lot of activities to choose from. The independent living cost structure is in line and is even a little bit less than some other places we looked at. They seem to provide a few extra services for that base price that other places didn't offer. So, I think that's a very good value. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful, as well. So far, we're really happy, and we hope the trend continues."

"The cheapest place here was Holiday Copley Place, but my husband does need some assistance. They were completely unassisted, but they were affordable. The people were excellent, and the community was beautiful, and everybody seemed well cared for. It was a very nice place. The room sizes were adequate. They weren't huge, but they were nice. The dining area was open and airy, and it seemed like people were there interacting, so that's nice. I liked it. They had a lot of places for people to gather. They had a patio area, and it was nice."

"Here’s the most important thing…..my father is happy there. He’s made friends. I know he is safe and WELL cared for. I enjoy visiting my father often and see him so happy."

"I toured Summit Point. It was clean and very organized. The staff was beautiful, answered all the questions, and even told us things that I probably would have forgotten to ask. They were very nice. The rooms were beautiful. They have help buttons all over if you need a hand. They had a shuttle service and they did group things as far as grocery stores and people wanting to go to the grocery store. Every Monday they went to a different grocery store. They put a calendar out. There was a lot for them to do. I've seen the dining area. It was beautiful. They had linens on the tables. They put out a menu, and if you didn't want what they had on the menu, they had an alternative menu for you to eat off of. They had like a little coffee shop there that you can get your coffee. You can do all-day coffee. And then they had a little grab-and go-section with snacks and whatnot. I thought that was beautiful."

"We moved my mom and sister into an apartment three weeks ago and we have been very pleased with our experience at Independence Village. The staff has been wonderful, making every effort to get them involved in activities and to help with their adjustment to the Assisted Living lifestyle. The apartment design is really good - it's roomy, and has a large amount of storage space. The kitchen has the appearance of a typical kitchen, with room for a small table and chairs, but without the stove (the stove was a problem for us). The Activities Director has a nice variety of activities available each day, and several opportunities for outings. The building is very clean, without the antiseptic smell of some facilities. The staff operates like a team - each department head, including the Director, stopped by to introduce themselves and welcome them, and now they greet us all by name. Adjusting will take time, but we feel like we have a good foundation, and a lot of staff support, to make their experience at Independence Village successful."

"We were happy with Vitalia Senior Residences of Solon. They have very small rooms, but they have a lot of what my mom needs as far as the care. They cook and clean, and have a big restaurant-type cafeteria downstairs. They have a garden. The building is only 3 or 4 years old. It seems good. We left a deposit, and we have 30 days to decide if we want to do it or not. What stood out to us were the amenities they offered and how new the place was. It was very clean, very new, and very hotel-looking. And the people there were extremely nice. The food looked and smelled very good. The staff was very polite and not pushy."

"The staff at Danbury Brunswick is very accommodating and helpful in any issues that I might have or somebody else might have. The kitchen gives a good variety of meals for us. The aides are more than helpful. The nurses are very good. I'm very pleased here. It's very nice. I really like it here. They have lots of activities for us to participate in if we choose or they're open to suggestions, if anyone has an idea. I have a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment. It's perfect for me because I'm by myself. It's a perfect size and very accommodating. At my window, I have a birdfeeder outside that I can watch the birds, so it's very nice. We have a pub where they have larger gatherings and happy hour on Fridays. They play bingo there. We have a bistro and a theater if there are special football games on or a special movie on Friday nights or Saturday nights, church services and exercise classes. They offer a lot of different events and it's up to the individual what they can participate in. They do crafts usually once a week and also cooking, making some kind of cookie or muffin or something. They offer a lot of variety. If anyone would want to call me, if they're not in my contact list, their number is blocked, but they can leave a voicemail."

"The Woods at Solon Pointe was a very nice facility. The food was delicious. It was like gourmet restaurant quality and worthy of being paid for. The people working there were very nice. They just couldn't accommodate both my in-laws. There's a lot of shopping around the community. My mother-in-law is in a wheelchair and she could've gotten around by herself in the actual community or outside. It's a beautiful facility."

"Danbury North Canton is family-oriented, they have a lot of activities, and they are very caring there. It's a wonderful, nice, clean place. They play movies at night in the dining area. I see a lot of the residents watching movies. They bring in outside people for the holidays. Sometimes they have food come in. They do lots of activities there. There are card games. It's posted on the elevator and they do field trips. My father's apartment is very clean. They have a little balcony where you can sit outside or look outside. It has a sliding door. It has a little kitchenette, a main room, a bathroom and a bedroom with a real big closet. It's pretty nice. There are different floor plans, because my father used to have a two-bedroom, but then he downsized to a one. You can get a two-bedroom and that had two baths. My interaction with the staff is really good. They have a home service, like if your parent or whoever you're caring for needs extra help, they can go check on them. There's a little bit of extra fee on that, but it's fine. Sometimes the people that work there go up and check on my dad, make sure he gets down to dinner and stuff like that. They're really nice. There's never any problem with the staff there. There's breakfast, which is really good. There is lunch and dinner and dinners are pretty good. You usually have like three different choices of the main. When you walk in, there's a couch and a couple of chairs there. They got a little thing with birds, so you can watch birds. That's a nice place just to gather together. They had a little downstairs place. We used to go down there and there was a pool table and maybe a ping-pong table and another TV. We always called it the man cave. They have places where you can sit in front and back. They provide some transportation to hospitals and stuff. There's a van and they take you other places, too, like groceries and other places like that. It's so clean. It is really nice. They got decorations. They always have something for the holidays. They bring speakers in. It's just a really nice place. They're putting puzzles together, and there are exercise classes. Value for money is pretty good."

The Waterford is a three-story 68-unit senior independent living apartment building located on the North Canton Campus of St Luke Lutheran Community in the heart of North Canton, Ohio. The Waterford address is 201 Holl rd. NE North Canton Ohio 44720. We are located close to shopping, swimming, YMCA, library, community buildings, city parks, walking paths. Our building features a number of different styles of one- and two-bedroom apartments. Our rents include dinner Monday-Saturday, and Brunch on Sunday. All utilities are included as well as basic cable and wireless internet and landline telephone. If you have had enough of the big house and yard work, you are not alone. Most of our residents wonder why it took them so long to make the move!
