"I went to Eden Vista of Stow. We liked that it looked clean and homey, not like a big, fancy hotel. The apartments had a living area, a kitchen area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The person who took us around was very friendly and very informative."

"Hudson Meadows Retirement Community is a very nice facility, up to date and clean. The other place I toured offers townhouses but this one has all apartments. Their amenities are very nice. They have a snack bar and the food is very good. I ate a meal there and it was also very nice. They have a nice theater, they have a pool which is nice, and an indoor pool. They have a nice snack bar where you go, get popcorn or anything that you want."

"I've been here in Springwood of Hudson for six years now. There weren't too many people here when I arrived, but it has built up and then emptied out. They give you the same care whether there are more people or fewer. They make sure you get all the information necessary for activities. We get a calendar each month telling us what's going on. We are kept very busy. Once a month, we go out in a little van to places of interest and have lunch out. I enjoy playing Pinnacle two nights a week and another card game. There are other activities during the week. We have exercise a couple of times a week. When it gets nice, we walk outside. The people who clean for us do a very nice job. They come every other week and do the basics, which is necessary. In between, we like to do some of our own cleaning. Tammy, who is in charge, is very nice, thoughtful, considerate, fair with everyone, and helpful. Scott, the maintenance man, is extremely good. We fill out a slip for what we need done, and he comes and does it. We have changed owners several times. The ones in charge now do not listen to all of our complaints or what we would like done. They have never come here to talk to us as a group. I think it would be nice if we could ask questions. The thing that bothers most of us is the big increases in rent. I know everything goes up, but the last two years it has been 8%, and the year before that it was 10%. Some of us are thinking about moving only because the increases are so great. If they kept the increases down so we could afford to stay, we certainly would like to. We have an enclosed garage, which is nice. Our cars do not have to sit out in the winter. Overall, it's a very nice place. I have found some great friends. We are all very nice to each other and enjoy this place very much. I think overall it's a very good review. When I tell people what it's like here, they'll say, "That sounds like a place I'd like to be." My apartment is very nice. The person above me has the same layout, and we are the only ones alike. All the others are different. We have a nice patio. I have a one-bedroom, and it's big. When I moved here from my house, I didn't want to feel closed in, and I do not feel that way at all. The rooms are very nice. Visitors say it is beautiful. We each decorate in our own way. I look out onto a country club, and it is beautiful. We have an outdoor patio with a grill that we can use. I am very satisfied. They take care of you. If there is a water leak or something breaks, they come right away to fix it. The staff is very good. We do not get meals, but we have parties. On Thursday, there is going to be a brunch and they will provide pancakes, eggs, and sausage. If there is extra, you can take it back. Everything we need is here. There is coffee available anytime in the community room. It is open and pleasant. Yesterday, we changed the decorations on the tables. We made Easter baskets, we made the flowers and put them on every table, so they're always bright and cheery and the facility is always kept nice and clean. Sometimes, they say they will come to do something like finishing the porch, but then say there is no money for it right now. We sometimes have to wait, but the workers are always willing. There is plenty to do, but it tends to be the same people. Some never come out of their rooms. There is bingo, yoga, a book club, and other activities. We make hats and sell them at a Christmas boutique for veterans. We go to wineries. Tammy drives us and helps me with my walker. She is excellent. There is plenty to do if you want to participate. There are places that are less expensive. I think it is at the highest point that it should be, $3,100 a month, and that does not include meals. I cook all my meals. My daughter lives nearby, so I see her once or twice a week. When they bring new people around to look, sometimes they aren't always properly informing exactly what you get for your money. They'll say, "We set our trash out by the door and they pick it up." No, you have to take it to the room of the trash room yourself. You don't get it picked up by your door. They don't inform the people completely when they're moving in exactly what all the services are."

"We're living here. The appearance is very nice, and the layout is very convenient. The food is good, my wife is playing Scrabble right now, and I have played bingo. The facility has nice surroundings, the staff is very accommodating, and is very nice and helpful."

"The staff at Brookdale Montrose is very nice, and the price was better for my mother in comparison to other independent living facilities in the area. They are undergoing some changes and they had a pretty big turnover, but my mother seems to be happy there. She likes the residents, and she found her own group of people to hang out with. They have outings on the bus, they play bingo, and there are exercise classes. They do her laundry and housekeeping, and the facility as a whole is upkept and clean. I've never heard her complain about anything."

"We toured Holiday Copley Place. I liked it a lot. The people were very, very friendly. It's a beautiful facility. They have so much to offer there, but you only have a refrigerator in your apartment, and I'm not ready to give up a kitchen. So, what I like least about it is the fact that you could bring your microwave in but then you're not allowed to bring it if you have like I have an electric grill. You can't bring anything with a heat source other than a microwave. So they do have a community oven that you can use on the first floor if you want to cook or bake something. We saw a one-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom apartment. They have laundry. There are three floors. Every floor has a larger room at either end that contains two washers and two dryers. It's not coin-operated. They will automatically come in and change your bed linens and your towels and do that laundry, but you have to do your clothes. They have a community room that we've seen. They have an exercise room. They have a room for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, and can all come in and work with you. We saw their eating area and their activity room. The meals are included. They do have a chef and an assistant chef. We were talking to a couple of residents there and said the food was very good."

"I toured Vitalia Senior Residences at Montrose. The experience was very, very positive. That was the nicest of all three. We toured the facilities. They have a beautiful cafeteria. Food is very, very good, very well done, and very well served. It is an almost brand-new facility, maybe 5 or 10 years old maximum. It shows in the decor, ithe facility, and the apartments. The apartments are among the bigger styles that I saw. The staff is very professional and very attentive. The accommodations were really, really nice. From the library to the workout facilities, and everything else, they had a more comprehensive sort of activity program there."

"We cannot say enough good things about StoryPoint in Medina! Our super social mom needs to be around people. She has a gift (her heart) to share with them and she craves socialization! We, her family can only provide her so much. What we cannot, StoryPoint has! A combination of their caring staff and the residents Mom now considers dear friends has filled that void. We have seen her come back to life so to speak as she is busier than she's been in years and the social interaction has been good for her emotionally and mentally. She was resistant for years, feeling we would be taking away her independence and quite the contrary..... The move to StoryPoint has given her back her independence!"

"My aunt moved into Summit Point. She liked that it was big enough. There were enough residents but not too many. The size was really good for her. She felt very comfortable there. They had a lot of activities that she liked. She likes to play bingo, they have cards, exercise, they are going to start doing some trips to the casino, and things like that that she enjoys. The lady who helped us was accommodating and nice and helped make her move easy. She said the food was good. The facility is well maintained. It's a good value compared to other places we've looked at."

"The rooms are very nice, plenty of room. love the dining rooms, the menu options are great. There brunch is always looking wonderful, they have wonderful decorations up for the brunch. The staff there is wonderful, they come and introduce themselves when on the tour."

"I felt that the gentleman who took me on the tour at the assisted living community of Light of Hearts Villa spent a lot of time with me. He's a compassionate man, and I really appreciated that. He seemed to really care about what he was doing. There were some facilities that, just by the way they treated me on the phone, I would decide not to go there. This gentleman was talking with me on the phone, and he was kind and showed concern, so that's why I went there to go on a tour. Like every business, some people excel at what they do, and I felt that he would be one of those. Other places didn't seem to want to volunteer information or give me too much to go on, so I really appreciated him. I remember that they had exercise classes, music classes, and things like that. The facility was also clean. There was nothing negative about the experience."

"We know a couple of people who were at Vitalia Senior Residences of Solon. Our friends seemed well-adjusted after a long period of time there. My impression was that the staff was very good, and they seemed to be enjoying the support they were getting in terms of meals. It's nicely located in the community. It's easy for local families to get there, and for those who still drive, and for them to have a reasonable sense of normal life in the community. They have a workout area, a theater, and a place for people to meet. The dining area was nice. It's a relatively new facility, so I think it's contemporary and fits my expectations for an assisted or independent living dining room. The facility is enormous, and it keeps growing. There are a lot of people who play Bridge and other games, and it seems like it's not hard to get into a regular card game or other kind of game."

"The entire staff is wonderful. My mother-in-law has lived there for about 4 years now. She truly loves it as well as me and my wife. The know her in a very personal way and when I go to see her the staff tells me what I need to know about her care. I would highly recommend Dannbury to any one. My dad was also at Dannbury but in Mentor. My mother thought the facility was wonderful. Unfortunately his stay was only about 3 months because he did in fact pass away from Alzheimer’s disease. Again the staff was wonderful and did a great job. Me and my wife and my mother were extremely satisfied with everything Dannbury had to offer. Kudos to everybody and thank you."
