"I went to The Ashton of Mayfield Heights. It's like sort of a palace. You walk in there and they have a setting that looks like a restaurant. It looks very nice when you walk in with the pictures on the wall. Everything is just large. It's just like you walk in, you take these wild places and you look up at the ceiling, you have to. It looks so nice. The rooms are beautiful and large. You have options. They give you more than one option when you walk in. Do you want this room? Do you want that room? In other words, it's just nice with the washer and dryer inside the room."

"I looked an empty apartment here, and the lady who assisted me said she had already rented it to someone but said she would put me on the waiting list. They had an assisted living and a nursing home. The attendants were nice to me, and the workers seemed to be alright. The apartment she showed me was an older apartment, but it was clean and freshly painted. They have a beautiful dining room downstairs. She said if I had a government apartment that I would have to buy my own food and when the bus went to the grocery store, I would be able to get on it. They have technicians to help you in the training room for your exercises. They go on field trips 2 or 3 times a month. They had a community room, and they were playing cards; some people were reading. It was nice and clean. Everybody was required to have one meal a day in the dining room."

"Clean and updated facility. Staff is friendly and courteous to residents and visitors. The rooms are welcoming and provide a good atmosphere for family. "

"We're living here. The appearance is very nice, and the layout is very convenient. The food is good, my wife is playing Scrabble right now, and I have played bingo. The facility has nice surroundings, the staff is very accommodating, and is very nice and helpful."

"We went to Richmond Heights Place a couple of years ago. We liked it. It is convenient to my brother where he lives in Richmond Heights, and my niece who lives in South Euclid. The person who gave the tour was nice, gave us information, brochure, and took us on a tour. The room was clean, nice, and didn't have an odor. My mother wasn't quite set on it at that time because she wanted a 1-bedroom with a living room and dining room, or a living room and a kitchen. The living atmosphere was very nice, and they seemed to offer different kinds of amenities."

"The tour we had at Vitalia Rockside - Active Adult Community was very nice. The young lady that I worked with was so sweet. She made me feel comfortable. I had some questions that she said she would look into for me and she also told me, "You can come here and join us for things. If you want, I'll send you a calendar when things go on and you could come and join us." I thought that was nice. It's modern. They didn't have a lobby or a place where people could go outside of their rooms. All they had in the middle of it that I saw was their dining area. There weren't a lot of rooms like seating rooms and things like a lot of them have. They said there was a library on another floor, but I didn't see it. The food was awesome. They offered me lunch. The menus were very good. I had an omelet and it was very good. They have a bakery and things, restaurant style, where you can just go and get something all day whenever you want. The chef is good. They gave me strawberries, and they were fresh and so good."

"Vitalia Highland Heights is a brand-new facility. They just opened. I was very impressed with the independent living quarters that they offered. There were two spaces available. There are two bedrooms with a nice large living area and a kitchen that has everything. I know that if I wanted to, I could cook and bake there. There's a seating area in the kitchen. You don't have to have a dining room table, but it's big enough that you could have people sit down there on both sides. You could probably get maybe 4 or 5 people sitting in this area. They have beautiful two bathrooms that are bigger than what I'm living in right now. They have a washer and dryer, which is very important to me. The price is OK. I think they want $4005 or somewhere around there, maybe close to $5000 a month. They offer a lot of bus trips and typical things. They have a pool. They have everything. They have invited me twice now to come for lunch and their food is excellent. If you have a car, they have a covered parking area and that's $75 a month. That's high, and all it does is that there's a parking area where everybody parked right next to each other. You just have a roof over the outdoors. It's not an enclosed garage."

"We visited The Winfield at Richmond Heights. I liked everything about it. That's one of my sister's choices. They showed me two types of apartments. The staff gave me the calendar for the activities. I met the chef, which was not planned, but he was near where I was. He said the food was good and we started laughing. It's a very clean facility. The structure of the building was very good. I like the layout of the rooms. I like the space. The closets were good with enough space for everything. The bathroom was big, too. The dining area was like a restaurant. They have a bar area and you can have two drinks per person. They will offer that to all the independent living people."

"My father was at Mount Alverna Village. When he was there, he did get excellent care. They were very attentive and very knowledgeable medical-wise. They took really good care of him. Well, my dad didn't participate in anything. The only thing my dad did was go to Mass every morning, so I don't really know what they provide. The food was very good. You could tell it was home-cooked, and it was really good food. The dining room was small, but I think they did that on purpose so people can socialize. It was clean, and it had a very nice homey atmosphere. "

"Hilltop Village was nice. I've been there before. Unfortunately, my mother died there a long time ago. It wasn't a surprise because I'd been there so many times. It is not quite as amazing as it used to be. They don't even make the food there anymore. They bring it in. I've seen some things that were good, and some things were disappointing. The suite that they wanted to show me was being prepared. Part of the reason that Hilltop is even in the running is because they're relatively inexpensive compared to the others. They have a microwave and a kitchenette. The tour person was knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and professional. She was fine. She did a nice job. They have a nice landscape. They have a facility for sitting and being outside."

"The rooms were of good size. I liked the size of the rooms, although my sister's in a two-bedroom, so she would prefer that, I'm sure. The rooms I saw were pretty much empty, so it's kind of hard to see what they'd be like when they're full of items, but they were very pleasant and roomy, and I liked them all. I know I didn't see anything I didn't like. The staff was very nice, very friendly, had a lot of information, and answered all my questions. They spent a lot of time talking to me. It went well. They showed me the dining area, and they gave me a treat. It was landscaped very nicely, and everything was very clean inside."

"I liked Vitalia Senior Residences at Stow because it didn't seem like a senior home. It didn't seem like it was for someone who was needy and needs a lot of attention, it's more independent. Everything looked good to me. What I love is the pool and I love their courtyard. I also have grandchildren who would love playing bocce ball there. I love the way it's more independent, so you can go any time you want. You don't have people bringing you food at a certain time and you have to be there between certain hours. Those are the main things. It's like your apartment, not a small room. It would be like my condo, people can come in and visit and it's big enough."
