"I chose to be here. I picked the room I’m moving into. They explained the activities, and it sounded like they can keep me active. There were people talking to each other when I was there. I was very impressed with what I saw. The dining area looked big, it looked inviting, and you would think that it was a restaurant. It’s a nice looking, antsy place. They have an exercise room."

"Vitalia Senior Residences of Solon is a brand new place. It had plenty of activities for the seniors to partake in. They had a swimming pool, chair yoga, chair volleyball, and other things. They also had fitness classes, games, a library, and a movie room with discussions going on. It seemed like a very nice place. The apartments were pretty nice. They had studio apartments as well as one and two-bedroom apartments. You have to bring your furniture. The lady that was giving the tour was very knowledgeable and very friendly. She engaged in conversation with my wife's cousin and got to know all about her and everything. There were a couple of residents who came up and said hi, too. We saw the menu and it seemed like there was good food in the cafeteria."

"Right now my dad is at Solon Pointe because that is where they can accept Medicaid waiver for him because he is not able to self-pay. He is up on the second floor in the memory care and they want to see if they can try to transition him to the downstairs area and eventually get him over to his own studio in the assisted living. He has been there since April 3rd and he is not happy because he says the place is too clinical. The facility needs a little updating, but I am sure the Alzheimer’s patients don’t really care. The nursing staff is very good and treating him well. The two nurses who we talked to said that they wouldn’t mind having him back. If a family member couldn’t ride with him to appointments, that they will transport him there with someone and bring him back. Their assisted living side looks good and they’ve have a lot of activities going on. Their dining room and little library area look nice, and their assisted living side looks really nice."

"Hudson Grande Senior Living was five stars. The staff members I met and conversed with were very informative. They even called back and are keeping up with my demands. The cleanliness was absolutely superb. The room size was pretty decent. I was pretty impressed. Most of the rooms had a little courtyard. Most of them had birdfeeders, so they had something to look at. They had great planned activities for both memory care and assisted living, and we got to sit in a couple of them. We went on a car show on the assisted living side, and the carnival that they had was excellent. The meal I had was really good. It was almost like a restaurant setting. You sit at a table, and they take your order. They give you a little menu. I am sure the memory care part of it will be a little different, but it was perfect. They had a person that would serve you. It was amazing. You can choose from pasta, chicken, baked fish, or something. They had vegetables. You got a choice of Coke, tea, water, or lemonade. It was an awesome place. To me, it was the top. It looked more like a resort than an average senior center. It looked like you're going to a hotel. It was like my mother was on vacation almost. I liked that when you walked in, they had a huge electric fireplace and a big grand piano. They always had music playing."

"I went to Eden Vista of Stow. We liked that it looked clean and homey, not like a big, fancy hotel. The apartments had a living area, a kitchen area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The person who took us around was very friendly and very informative."

"Alpine House of Maple Heights had everything I would need. They provide assistance with bathing, meds, meals, and light housekeeping. Everybody has their own room, too. It's really nice and the staff has been very helpful. They have a game room with pool and foosball tables, a beautiful dining room, a sauna room, and an outside smoking area. When you walk in the door, it doesn't smell. I saw a studio apartment, and it comes with a dorm-sized refrigerator and a microwave. You control your own heat and air conditioning, and they can either come furnished or you can do it yourself, then you have your own bathroom. You're allowed to leave the premises as long as you sign in and out, and you would have to wear a Life Alert in case you fall."

"We checked on them. The assisted living area there was smaller than the other facility. The rooms were very nice. They didn't have a shop or a deli there. Food-wise, they're about the same as with the other facility."

"I went to Hamlet at Chagrin Falls. Everything was very nice. The only issue we had was the distance. Everything was clean. The people were very friendly. It looks like everything was so well organized. I'm a big person when it comes to cleanliness, and I have to emphasize it was very clean. Everything was decorated and very pleasing to the eye. Nothing that I found that disinterests me. The only issue we had was the distance as far as traveling back and forth with my family and my mother is still alive, so we try to still help her. The staff was friendly and very informative. The dining room was very nice, very clean, and nicely decorated. It was a relaxing atmosphere and it was spacious. They had a salon, an exercise area, and an activities area. They offer different activities. It was very well organized. It's a place where you could go and you don't have to go away to get anything done. They supply everything."

"I toured Woodside Senior Living. It was nice. It was clean. It was friendly. The apartment was fantastic. My mother used to be there, so I knew about it, but they had redone it since then. The manager was very knowledgeable and very informative. The dining area was very nice and very spacious."

"We had family member live her for 7 months. Unfortunately she passed recently. Can not say enough about this lovely facility. The staff and nurses are incredible. Very good communication. She received the best possible care. The facility is new and absolutely gorgeous. Would highly recommend. "

"Rose Senior Living Beachwood has more social things, but they're very expensive. They're over $5050 to $6000 a month. Two meals are included. They've got the pool, a courtyard, and bus trips. They've got activities, a beauty shop, and everything. They're very, very professional. They've invited me for lunches and get-togethers with groups of people who are thinking of getting into the facility. The building was nice."

"Regent of Stow was a nice place I would consider acceptable. They have good staff there. They have a good facility. They have a doctor and nurses that they employ. They have a movie theater and a nice dining hall. They play bingo, and they have recreational activities. The place seemed clean. We were there around lunchtime and people were being served. What I saw on the table looked all right, but we didn't have a chance to sample any of it. The staff during the tour was very nice and pleasant. She's a nurse and one of the management people there."
