"We moved into Solista Milwaukie by Cogir. The reason why we came here in the first place is proximity to my daughter, who lives close by. Number two would be price. That's one of the cheaper ones. The room that was offered was more suitable for us than other places that we had visited, as far as the size of the room. There's a kitchen. In the remodeled rooms, there is no oven or stove. There's just the refrigerator and a long counter. So, during the remodel, they took out the stoves. Meals are part of the monthly rent, and there are three meals a day. I meant it is invoiced monthly, but the rent for the apartment is separate from the additional charge for meals. Since there's my wife and I, there are two people, so that extra person has to pay for the meals. The first person's meals are included in the monthly rent. We get an invoice monthly from them that states apartment rents, including meals, and then second-person meals are separate items. They have something scheduled every day. They have an activities manager, and she tries to keep outings. We have our buses here. We have two buses. So, we have shopping trips, and doctor availability on trips. Yesterday, my wife went to a casino in Washington, that type of thing. They also have a card room. We played bingo and did those sorts of in-house exercise classes. So, there's usually something going on."

"My mother was here. She liked it there a lot. There was no complaint. There, she got card games and bingo. They had a bus that took them to the casino and to shopping. Also they would take them to doctor's appointments. It was a beautiful place. They had really wide halls. It was pleasant and it was pretty. "

"Kamlu Retirement Inn-Vancouver was an older facility, but it looked nice. I looked at two rooms there. One was downstairs with a patio and a very nice garden area. But it was a little small and kind of outdated, but they were going to redo that. I looked at one that was a little bit bigger, and I liked it better, but it was upstairs. They do have an elevator, though, so that wasn't bad. The gentleman leading us was very thorough and had a whole packet of stuff for me. We walked along and chatted about everything that we saw. They have movies. They make little trips. You can get rides to the doctor and all that stuff. They do provide meals, but I'm not ready for that yet. There was no adjustment if you didn't want meals. Their menu looked good."

"My father-in-law has lived very contentedly in SL since its opening several years ago. His living space is roomy, comfortable, and sound-insulated quite well. Cuisine offered in the dining room is delicious & well-prepared, and the menu is diverse, with multiple great options at every meal. Staff has always been gracious, welcoming, and interested in both the residents and us as visitors. Our family never doubts that he is in a great place, and he constantly says the same thing!"

"I like Somerset Lodge. Everybody that I talked to said it's like family. They invited me to lunch, and lunch was good. The people were wonderful. Everybody was wonderful. The person that took me around was great. She spent a lot of time with me. It's a beautiful location. They have big green areas for walking. It is very high on my list, but I'm not sure if I can afford it in a year. Maybe it will be a little too expensive for me. The food was very good. I was sitting with three very nice ladies. This lady who took me around gave me lots of time, and she was a star. They have just decorated for Christmas. The residents decorated it and they did an unbelievable job."

"Edgewood Downs doesn't have assisted living. It was a very nice facility, but not appropriate. It was very nice, and it was kind of like a hotel. They have two courtyards. They were friendly, and they have a meal plan. If you're in good health, it seemed like a really nice place. The staff was fine. We only talked to one person. We were only there about 15 minutes, so it was a very quick visit. It seemed really nice. The staff was very nice. They had a dining room and a library. The rooms were quite nice. They could allow pets."

"The Quarry Senior Living is excellent. The prices are high, but you're paying for what you're getting. I couldn't find anything wrong with it and I wouldn't mind going there myself; that's how nice it was but they're like $4200 a month. They're outstanding and they have everything. Everything is based on a point system so you can have as little or as much care as you want. They can aspirate you, vacuum your room, they can go in, and put on your compression stockings. They have a swimming pool, a café, buses that go wherever you want to go like the Walmart of the mall. They have tons of amenities like that, they have tours, and they seem to be strong in their COVID stuff. They have a lot to offer. The staff is very friendly and invited us back for lunch and they also don't hound you. They sent me a text once asking for my information and I said not this time, and they asked if they can contact me after 3 months, and I said yes, and that's all that it was. No asking me every week. The place was gorgeous and clean. They have a cafeteria but I just went to their café and we had milkshakes. It was wonderful."

"The folks and the marketing director in Creekside Village were very nice and friendly. They had lovely residents. It seemed like a nice setting. The food was wonderful, and they had a nice library. "

"I moved to Solista Gresham by Cogir. What I liked when we first came to see the community was there were smiling faces. Everybody was smiling, happy just to be out and about. We took the tour to see the place, and just about everybody we passed and we talked to had positive feedback. They were just cheerful, happy people. So, I chose right there to move in here. I love the one-bedroom apartment they showed me. It was just what I was looking for. I had dinner that day, but since then the food has been fantastic. The conversations with the other clients are like being a family. There's a lot of teasing and well-wishing as well as. You catch occasional hugs once in a while from people. They explained everything thoroughly to me about activities and the whole thing. It's a family atmosphere. I like that. The staff are all extremely helpful. I had trouble with my mail key, and they were right on it. I had a new key within 15-20 minutes of telling them that I couldn't open the mailbox. I had a box that was too high. My family put it too high for me to unpack. I asked a couple of the staff to help me get it down. They've been very helpful. I love that about the people that work here. They remember your name and call you by name. They're always willing to do what they have to do to make you happy."

"My mom is in assisted living at Van Mall right now. It is really like being in a fancy hotel instead of a retirement place. They have multiple choices of food, not just two, and the dining room is like a restaurant with linen tablecloths. It's a good place. They have more amenities and activities than any other place I visited. They have a little gym area with chair exercises and bikes, and there is somebody in there who can help you all day long. They have six to seven activities a day, like art and games."

"I thought that The Lofts by Cogir was a semi-independent living place. The staff was accommodating. They don't provide food. They had a courtyard and you could bring in your own laundry equipment. I toured various areas and everything was clean, up-to-date, and nice. It's located right next to Vancouver Mall."

"I liked King City Senior Village a lot. They were friendly and helpful and the facility was very clean and bright. The food was excellent and it was just a great place. The grounds were very nice and they have nice activities. I happened to go back in when they were having a happy hour. So, they invited us to have happy hour and that was nice. We had lunch there and I loved it, but there was not very much of it, as far as the amount. Still, I was very impressed with the place."
