"Everybody was very wonderful there at King City Senior Village. It was a very good experience. The people were very warm. The staff was great. They took me to a one-bedroom unit. They have a lot. They have a TV room. I was very impressed. It was very nice. I even met the cook. I had a very good guide. The ones I met all shook hands with me and were very gracious and very welcoming. The facility looked fine. The staff showed me the music room, the exercise room, and the beauty shop. The food was very good."

"Everybody was nice at Parkrose. They had an exercise room, a nice place to read, and a place for smoking outside. The studio rooms were nice. "

"Helpful staff - pleasant aura - people seem content -clean interiorly & exteriorly, convenient to banking, shopping, medical facilities. Was our first choice to move too but two things concerned us: 1) Two bedrooms have just one small bathroom and no cottages. We'd need two baths. 2) Too long of a wait for meals. Gene is diabetic and its important to eat at scheduled times. We both prefer open dining."

"Creekside Village Retirement seemed very nice. Everyone was extremely nice. We didn't eat there, but the dining area looked nice and was quite large. They had a place to watch movies and a laundry facility. I think they did bingo once or twice a week."

"Our experience with here has been wonderful. My aunt has been warmly welcomed by residents and the staff. The place is lovely and she's very happy with her room. The bathroom is large and has a walk-in shower. The food is delicious. The people are meeting all her needs as a new resident. She's in a studio, but there are also 1 and 2-bedroom apartments. They have free wi-fi and cable TV and 3 meals a day by a very good chef. They have a bus for transportation, stretching classes, exercise classes, card group, exercise machines, beauty salon, and a courtyard."

"The lunch we had here was good. The facility was very nice, and the apartment was luxurious. They had a swimming pool, covered parking, storage for the residents, lots of areas to meet, and they provide activities."

"Springwood Landing is nice. It's clean and eye-appealing. It's fairly new, so it's put together really nicely. The lady who toured us was very professional, very kind, positive, and welcoming. She was just really accommodating. I could tell that she knew the residents and she was super sweet to them. I liked that. We went to dinner there and the food was good. After dinner, they were showing a movie that night in their movie theater. They also have a craft area, they have people that go walking quite a bit, there's a library and a cooking/baking area that's part of the craft area. I visited probably three or four different rooms and styles of layout. There was a single bedroom and then there was one that had two bedrooms, but the one that my mom would go to had a small kitchenette. It had a peninsula and my mom would be able to have her dog with her, and she's not going to be charged extra for that."

"I went to Kamlu Retirement Inn-Vancouver. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and answered the questions that I had. We did take a tour of the building and saw some of the people. The facility layout and so forth was fine. There's no big problem getting around or moving from one place to the other. They're basically apartments within a big building. They seem to have a nice eating area, common area for people to get together, share things, and communicate with one another. They seem to have plenty of activities for the people to choose from. It seemed like happy crowd that was there, at least the people that I got to see. There's walking paths mostly around the building, and it looked like places to sit down (if a person were to get too tired of walking). It's a plus because some people are using walkers and things like that. It's nice to get outside and have some place to sit down. The outside facilities seemed well kept. The parking area seemed to be a little bit small. I only parked only in a particular spot. I didn't really drive around the building itself to see if there were other parking spots. It was a small area for such a large number of people."

"The people who live at Rock Creek are very friendly. They approached me knowing I was a visitor and saying they hope I move in with them and they?re a fun group. The staff is very heart-warming and very people-oriented. They sent me a bouquet when I was going to have surgery and they invited me to activities. I?m invited to one next week and they know I love singing and music and so they invite me to all the music stuff and then stay for dinner or lunch whichever the time is. The rooms are lovely. They?re very bright and open and as far as square footage, theirs is a little higher and it is a newer facility. It?s one of my top two contenders. They could be a 5 just by how the system works, the food is great, the chefs are great. Everybody including the residents were very, very pleasant. "

"I will be moving into MorningStar of Hillsboro. I like the floor plan, the staff's attitudes, the location, the amenities, and the value I feel I'm getting for my money. I have a full kitchen, a washer and disposal, and laundry. One of the things I like about the floor plan is that even though it's a one-bedroom, it's laid out well. There's a connection between the bedroom and the bathroom, so I don't have to go through the living room and kitchen to get there. Another aspect I like is that it's not a large corporation. If a manager, chef, or someone else sees the need for a change or an addition to the community, they do not have to go through layers and layers of management to get an answer as to whether or not they can make that change. I dealt with two specific ladies, and both of them were very knowledgeable about the community, how it's organized, and what my options were. The food is provided, and an excellent restaurant-style menu that includes weekly specials, especially recommended by residents. Another aspect of MorningStar that I like is the security. They have a way of checking on me that isn't obtrusive, to make sure I'm okay and don't need any help."

"I have spent my entire adult life in the health care field, and was an emergency medical dispatcher for over 8 years, so I and my family are far more knowledgeable consumers than most. Both of my parents have lived at The Quarry for four years, starting out in independent living, then assisted living as needs warranted, and now in memory care and the enhanced unit. This is the best facility I have ever run across. The staff make certain, in spite of their now being in separate units, that my parents get to spend lots of time together. They have bus outings twice a week, a full service salon, outstanding food that families can join their loved ones to eat (we do frequently), tons of fun activities that families are always invited to, and staff that honestly cares about the residents and their families. Our family could not be happier with this facility, and we are there visiting multiple times a week. They listen to us, and go out of their way to meet the personal needs of every resident, while still respecting their need to be themselves. I would recommend the Quarry to anyone looking for secure, quality care for a loved one at any stage of need. In fact, our retired doctor visited and he and his family were so impressed that he moved in too, and now loves it there. The Quarry will not disappoint on any level. "

"My brother has been at Van Mall for a year and a half now. They help him with showers and change of clothes every day. They come in two times a day and give him his meds. The staff has been wonderful. They're all very nice. I think they're wonderful. They have a lot of things you can do. They have little parties for different holidays, dinners, and little things outside in the summer. They have different games. They take them for different rides if they want to go. They take my brother to the doctor on certain days, and that helps a lot. The food is wonderful. I've eaten there with him quite a bit and I think it's great. They have a good cook."

"I highly recommend the Lofts by Cogir. Loved it. It's very clean and very well organized. They have good maintenance, good security, good amenities, and just an overall good vibe. It had an excellent setup for my aunt to not only feel like it was home, but also if she needed help, it was there."
