"Brookdale Oswego Springs Portland's food wasn't bad but wasn't good. It would be a good choice, though. The staff was very good, nice to us, gentle, and kind. The facility looked good. The location is a little high up, so they had a nice view of the town. They didn't have a whole lot of grounds but there were areas that you could go for a wander around the building. There was greenery and some flowers. It was nicely taken care of. They had buses to take you places if you don’t drive."

"The food is excellent at Markham House. My sister is in a large studio apartment. I've known about this facility and they really seem to care about their people. They have long-term staff that's been there for a long time. They have activities and they go out 2 to 3 times a week to go shopping, to lunch, or to an activity in town. They just give really good care."

"My mom is in here. The staff is absolutely terrific. They have different buildings for each stage of dementia and Alzheimer's. In the building where the people don't have much dementia, the rooms are very spacious. As the need increases, they become smaller and smaller. This is most convenient for me and suits my parent's needs the best. "

"My disabled Mom had maggots and flies in her room, so needless to say the housekeeping is non existent. They find a way to blame the resident for all of the staff's shortcomings. "

"While researching facilities for my father's future home, I kept coming back to Prestige Sr. Living Riverwood Sherwood. The staff was extremely helpful in my research, educating me on what types of questions to ask, and helping me navigate through the various facility types and services. Staff provided information on financial support services and veteran's benefits that I was not aware of, this was very beneficial. Riverwood had several room size options to select from, all were very clean and or freshly painted. Options for different paint colors were also provided. The dining area is large and resembles a restaurant environment. The outdoor garden space is beautiful, peaceful and the residents are very friendly."

"Edgewood Point Assisted Living was an older facility. The rooms that they had were shared. It didn't have the feeling that it was clean, maybe because it's an old facility. But overall, it was fine. The staff was helpful and it looked like they were caring toward the residents there. I could tell that they were busy because they didn't spend as much time with me as the others did in the other places I toured. There was a small courtyard and a cafeteria, but that's about what I saw. The memory care side was a fairly small section of the facility."

"Arcadia Senior Living has been very good so far. It's a very nice atmosphere, it's clean, and it's pretty new. The staff has been very attentive. They help in bathing, and they do medication distribution, laundry, housekeeping and meals. My brother's room is very nice, and nobody has lived in it. It's new, and it has a full size refrigerator, a microwave, the bathroom is very nice for somebody who's using a wheelchair and a walker, and it's got a very large walk-in shower. The food tastes just fine, and he doesn't complain about it at all. The dining area is new, clean, bright, and nice. They have various activities during the day, and they have a big exercise room that he's using."

"My Mother was only there for 5 weeks, before passing away, but the staff at iHome Care took such good care of her and were so supportive to me during her end of life stages. Together with hospice services my Mom had a peaceful passing. In the short time I got to know so many of the caregivers by name and they loved my Mom. Even the administrator, Jordan came and checked in on my Mom though I know he had a busy schedule. It is such a caring and loving environment. I'm so glad I found this place. No activities during the pandemic but I understand they will resume activities in the future. "

"We visited Prestige Senior Living Beaverton Hills. We love the layout. It was really conducive to people mingling. They have a common kind of courtyard and all apartments face out onto it. It just seems like a place where it's really easy for people to get out and be interactive. Also, in the community, a lot of people have their doors open. It sorta felt friendly, and people seemed very involved and very inclusive. We really liked the Prestige. We met one staff member. He was great. He was passionate and committed."

"Mom is at MorningStar at Laurelhurst. It is very clean. Most of the caregivers are very caring and loving. They enjoy what they do and care for the residents. There were a few issues at the beginning, but things are better now. No place is perfect. I was given a couple of opportunities to have a meal there, and the food is always very fresh because the memory care patients are always served first. It's nutritious and they have a really good chef. There's a good variety. There are a lot of coloring activities (they have adult coloring books). They also play music and then have movies after dinner. They have other activities that I noticed on the board, like going for a walk and trivia things, but Mom's not interested in any of that stuff. She's very picky. She's always just sitting there, totally bored."

"A prime consideration in choosing Senior Independent Living at Calaroga Terrace was its central location and easy access to Portland's great Public Transit System(Street Car, MAX train and Bus).But more importantly I made the choice because of Calaroga's reputation of providing a supportive community environment including a dedicated and professional staff. Oh yes, and I do enjoy a panoramic view of the city from my apartment and balcony. Duane"

"I visited the assisted living. It was a good tour. They have very nice staff, very clean area, and the place was bright and open. It looked like a nice place, I wish they had an opening. They had all sorts of planned activities. There's a girl there doing some crafts, they have a big community room, they have a little bit of everything I think. The person who gave the tour was great, but she didn't show us the memory care. The facilities were very nice, clean, bright and welcoming. The dining room was basically just an open room, and they had a serving bar. It was like a kitchen with an island, though much bigger, and they were serving from there."

"I toured the home for my loved one and was extremely pleased by the profesional staff that shows such care and compassion to the residents. The facility and rooms wear clean and organized, free of odors and very home like. The ambiance of the home was very welcoming. "

"Summerplace was a good place. My friend was living there. I was impressed by the surroundings and by the activities. They had a special event for Fourth of July, which was good, and very patriotic. I like their food; it was good. The staff was very nice too."
