We have chosen Oswego Place by Bonaventure for my friend. He has been there for about two weeks now. I visited him every week. The physical facility is nice, and the services met his needs. He doesn't really need just a senior living environment; he needs assistance, mobility, and that kind of stuff. They were able to offer him that. It's a relatively pleasant physical facility with that sort of stuff. His room is nice. They're all kind of the same. We didn't notice a lot of difference from facility to facility. He was interested in a one-bedroom, and they're all very similar. It's nice and clean. It's a very nice place. My friend is really enjoying having a little bit more social interaction and having activities to go to during the day. They have lots of activities available for the residents. I've never had the food myself, but he's quite pleased. He finds in the meals quite delicious. However, they don't have transportation. He is on dialysis, and he needs to go to dialysis. They take him two days a week, but they're not able to take him all the time. It would be nicer if they have a little bit more robust transportation system. The staff seems very good.

I couldn't get my window closed this evening. It is on a busy street and has a sidewalk about 10 feet from the building. The windows were being washed today and they left the screens off. I called to the front desk and a care giver came in and tried to close my window, but she couldn't. She called the director and the director said it would get fixed tomorrow. So now I have to sleep with a open window by a busy street and sidewalk. I am going to be 80 in December and I wouldn't be able to do anything if someone got in. It didn't seem to mean anything to the director. That is sort of the attitude since the new director took over. Many days the wait staff doesn't show up and the office manager is put to work. I called another care giver and she managed to close the window, but I was instructed not to call another care giver if she didn't get it done. I'm not suppose to be scared because it bothers other people. Thankfully the window washers put the screens back on, but it is time for me to give my 30 day notice. The staff is suppose to be taking care of us, but the system has reversed and we are suppose to make it convenient for them. They are short staffed and expect us to to be understanding when we are not being taken care of, but you know, my bill hasn't gone down. My bill is over $6,000 a month and for that, what do I get? I have ended up doing my own laundry and I stopped having a care giver stand by while I take a shower, because I was only getting one shower a week. This is getting intolerable.

My mom is in Oswego Place. She moved in a couple of weeks ago. It's just a good fit and it's close, so far so good. I am not there on a daily basis but my mom said she gets the care she needs. The location is good, the facility is nice, and the size is pretty good. Her room is fine. I looked at 4- 5 different properties and I thought this one was a nicer property. It's about 400-500 square feet, so it works for her. They do games, movies, billiards and exercises. The dining room is also open.

After visiting multiple assisted living facilities to find a quality home for my mother, I am extremely happy to have discovered Oswego Place. The Executive Director, Sales Manager, Registered Nurse, Activities Director, Office Manager and others have all worked to ensure my mother makes a successful transition from home to her new environment. The Oswego Place management team provided detailed information to caregivers so they can meet my mother’s special needs. The Executive Director is approachable and dedicated to the well-being and success of each client. The Activity Director met with my mother and me to determine which activities might interest her and help her become a part of this vibrant community. The Sales Director and Office Manager have excellent communication skills and treat everyone with respect and dignity. When I had concerns about medication procedures, the RN met with me and patiently answered my questions. Caregivers at Oswego Place are knowledgeable, organized and kind. They are open to suggestions from family members, and are dedicated to doing their best for each client. The food in the dining room is well prepared, and there are a variety of healthy choices on the daily menus. Staff greet each diner as a friend, and patiently answer questions as they arise. In summary, I believe my mother’s transition to Oswego Place will exceed our family’s expectations. I am grateful to the entire staff at Oswego Place for their commitment to providing a well-maintained, positive living environment for their residents.

My mother has been in Oswego Place for a month and a half now. Everything seems to be top notch. It is a solid community and satisfactory for us. There are activities every day. I think the staff members are adequate. My mother seems to be doing well there.

My mom is now in Oswego Place, and she's very happy there. She is settling in, and I am comfortable with them myself. It turn out that the room that they have is better for mom than another place that we are thinking of because she is in a wheelchair, and the bathroom is very roomy; that is the thing that finally make the decision for us. The staff is very great. My mom struggles a little bit with having to wake up early to take a shower before breakfast because everybody of course wants their shower before breakfast, but they are so kind to her and help her through it. I think they are doing an exceptional job. The food is a lot better, and I enjoy going there for a meal because they are doing a nice job with it, in addition to the fact that everyone is very friendly.

Oswego Place Assisted Living has been home to my father for the past 3 years. He has been so happy with the services that they provide. When we first moved him over there it was a really hard change he had been hospitalized several times and it needed to happen. Dad was very against the move but went per his Doctors request. After moving in the staff at Oswego Place helped him get to know a couple of residents and slowly get involved. My husband and I eat with dad about once a week and the food is very good. We have had a couple meals a little bit off but all in all their food is very good. Their soups are wonderful! From the time my dad moved into Oswego Place we have seen significant growth in his mental and physical capabilities. The care staff are so wonderful and are always going above and beyond where they can to make sure dad is happy. I would highly recommend Oswego Place.
