Mom picked Sellwood Senior Living. It's notably open and bright with high ceilings and a lot of light. That's not my style, but it's probably good for some and it makes mom cheerier. It's not as cozy, but there are a lot of places to be, like little sitting rooms, a grand piano, and gardening opportunities. The food was OK. Mom was satisfied with it. There are many activities. There's a morning exercise program downstairs that she likes and she uses the library a lot, but I don't think she's hooked up with any other activities at this point. They also go downtown, which is very good. I haven't seen any problems with the staff. They're nice, friendly, attentive, and respectful. I haven't seen any deferred maintenance. It's got good acoustics, which is important. It's sunny and they have access to the outdoors. There were problems finding an open room for Mom. So, they gave her a bigger one at a discounted rate, which was good. We were shopping around and this is a nice place so far. For the monthly pay, it is one of the cheaper ones. So, that's a good value for money.

My daughter-in-law will move into Sellwood Senior Living. I was impressed at how bright and cheerful the facility was. The staff was very friendly. Any time a staff member passed my daughter-in-law they would greet her and introduce themselves. They invited us back for lunch. The meal was really good. The studio apartment that she will likely be in is nice and roomy, and it just hit me as a very nice facility. I was able to taste their food. The gal told me that they don't use salt, they use just spices. And it wasn't spicy to the taste, but it was very flavorful. The facility was very clean. It looks like it had been upkept. The residents were coming and going because it's in the downtown area type thing, and they seemed very lively. I encountered one other person and I asked her how she liked living there, and she said she really enjoyed it, that they were welcoming. I just got a good feeling.

I toured Sellwood Senior Living. Everybody seemed very nice and personable. The staff was kind to the residents. The rooms looked clean. They seemed to care about it. The chef even came out and talked to me about diet considerations for my dad. He was so kind and cared about the people and his job. You could tell people wanted to be there, that's a huge thing.

My tour of Sellwood Senior Living went fine. The director there was knowledgeable and just loved his job. He answered a lot of our questions very quickly and spent time with us. It was good because we could kind of talk through things and understand all the needs and everything. Then we got to see one of the apartments, so we had a better idea of what we were looking at and what was available and things like that. It went well. The layout for the room was very nice for a studio. There's a lot of sunlight in the room. It was bright. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. I was surprised that there was a refrigerator, so residents can store and keep what they need inside their rooms if they want to, and things like that. They keep everything up to date, so I was surprised about that. Everybody was open and very friendly. I even watched the interaction between the staff and the residents there. Everybody seemed to be pretty happy. A lot of the residents were moving around talking to each other and talking to the staff. The funny thing is, even the director pretty much knew everybody he ran across.

The most positive thing about my tour at Sellwood Senior Living was just how super friendly everybody was. From the staff to the residents, everybody had big smiles. It just seemed to be a very happy community. They had a painting class, and I saw the paintings lined up, and the activities room. The place was very nice. They had just done a remodel so the rooms were very fresh and a decent size.

I liked Sellwood Senior Living. The residents were all smiling and talking among themselves. They were happy and I wanted to see that. The staff was very, very nice and very helpful. They gave me cookies and they were really good. The rooms were very nice, clean, modern, bright, and smelled good. They were getting some brand-new furniture and they looked very excited. All the rooms that I looked into as I walked around were very orderly. It's a good place.

Sellwood Senior Living is the best I've seen in the area. Things that impressed me is when I walked in, they have a sign on the receiving guest that said, 'Welcome Robert,' and they had some fresh baked cookies made for me in a bag. I liked the above-and-beyond service just from that. Everyone was really friendly, and the building was immaculate. I saw the menu. I didn't try their food, other than the cookies they made me, and those were the best cookies I think I've ever had. I just glanced at their activities because my sister probably won't be doing most of them, but they had a huge calendar and it looked like numerous activities of all different types going on every day. I didn't pay attention, but it looked like they offered a lot.

I toured Sellwood Senior Living and met with Lisa. She was very informative, very friendly, and gave me a great tour. The apartment accommodation is nice looking. It's clean and friendly. I'm a vegetarian and they would have been able to supply me with the amount of food I needed for respite care. I would have no problem staying there, but if you want to have exercise equipment (like myself), they don't have that.

I visited Sellwood Senior Living. They had a two-bedroom and the staff even suggested that you could open these double doors to make your living area larger and then have a bedroom over on the other side and I thought that was nice. I did not see a one-bedroom at Sellwood, but they showed how they could even be more spacious. The parking for mom's car was much better there. They gave me a box of cookies. At the front desk, I was greeted, and they seemed to have enough staff. I saw groups of residents talking and moving around, and I saw staff everywhere I went, so that's good. The dining area had a nice big window to look out. The whole facility was close to the street, so as far as going outside, there wasn't a walking area. There was like a patio, but there wasn't an area really where you could walk around. They kept the entrance area clean. The room had double doors and the bathroom had plenty of room. It seemed clean. The people that were in that front area seemed to be able to get around like one had a motorized vehicle. They had a library. They seemed to have plenty of staff. It was a welcoming place. The lobby area was a little smaller, but that's fine.

My mom went to look. They're really sweet people there. It's a really, really good place. Their facility was really great, but it seemed to be more for people that really needed assisted living more than what my mom needs. It also didn't have what she wanted. It was too inconvenient for her; it was too chaotic. Like she has to take an elevator to different floors, and that really bothers her. They're just so super people. It's very clean and very beautiful.

We visited and I'm very impressed. I would say the people that work there are exceptional. They follow through, and I'm very impressed with it. I would have chosen it, but things changed a bit for my mother-in-law. It was apparent that she needed a different kind of facility. But I am very impressed, and I would recommend it since I have no complaints.
