"A Place To Call Home IV Andresen Rd is an adult foster home. My wife has only been here a couple of weeks. We are waiting to get set up for physical therapy, so right now, they're just taking care of her meals, showers, and whatever else she needs. I come almost every day to see her. The owner of this place has four of these. I went and visited three of the four and these are very nice homes, much better than I've seen anywhere else. The staff is very friendly. The girl that's here almost all the time, Violet, does a good job of taking care of my wife. Cleanliness is excellent. They do several things. They have entertainers that come in and they've got somebody for yoga that comes in and musicians, much better than you would see anywhere else probably."

"We toured Cogir of Vancouver. It was fabulous. Christopher took us through the tour. Beautiful facilities. They are very clean and very nice. It was like having a small apartment. It was nice. The food looked delicious. They keep them busy. We are very pleased with that one. They have a theater and a nice restaurant. They have a very good menu that they gave us to review with my mother-in-law. They have a big fireplace. It's very homey. While we were waiting for the staff to come and get us, we talked to three ladies there and they were just giggly. They love it so much. They have friends and activities. They have a bus that they take outings in. It is a beautiful place. The staff was very nice. It's just good and a very nice environment. They have very nice rooms. It's a very good layout. It's a rectangle with a courtyard, and so it's got a lot of rooms."

"My wife is at the Hampton & the Ashley Inn. It's a warm setting. The staff are caring. The facility is very clean and pleasant. The staff members are very helpful. If I come in and I can't find my wife, I'll ask one of the staff, and they in turn can locate her and direct me to her, so that's a nice feature. I won't say it's a huge facility, but it's large enough to spend about five minutes looking for somebody. They have several TV rooms, several rooms with tables, and facilities to do puzzles or whatever your interest is. The activities include things like exercise and games where you try to come up with the correct answers. I haven't seen anybody poorly handled or mishandled. There's maybe one patient that gets very boisterous and not cooperative at all, but they seem to manage them and are trying to be as considerate as possible to them. My wife said the meals were fine. You walk down the halls and there are pictures of all sorts of things."

"L&s Adult Care Home has a new owner who runs the facility. Her name is Sarah and she was very good. The home was clean. It was old and it's a smaller home care for five adults and interestingly, it was a home for women. So for my mom, that would be fine, and I can understand where that also might be an advantage. The staff was very nice and very helpful with entertaining questions. It's a house that is run by a woman and her husband, and they are parents to one nine-month-old child and a two-year-old, and they live at the facility. So, if you're an older person and you enjoy being around kids and family, which seems to be quite pleasant, that would be awesome. You would have a built-in grandchild to interact with once in a while and nothing can help brighten our day sometimes, but having a little bit of time to maybe play together with the child. For those who don't want the occasional interruption of children or the inevitable times when the kids are tired and upset and need attention from their parents, it might create an environment where there's a little more competition for your caregivers' time. I don't think that overall, it's a negative, I think it's positive that they're a small little family, but it's the kind of thing that could be a risk and the one thing we know with kids growing up is that their needs continuously change. So, it might be something that could get better, because the kids are learning to live with older adults as well, or it may have times when it's not so optimal."

"My husband has already moved into The Quarry, and they are outstanding. They are kind of specialized in Parkinson’s disease, so they have a lot of care for Parkinson’s, a lot of classes, support groups, and all that. He has a nice one-bedroom apartment on the main floor that has a little patio outside, so when I take the dog over, the dog can visit. The food is very good. "

"When I got there at A Place To Call Home 117th Circle, they didn't have any openings, so that didn't work. It's very nice. It's a real country setting. It's on a big piece of land. The outside is probably nicer than the one that I'm at right now, but that doesn't matter to me, because my wife doesn't go out. The staff was very friendly. It's high-end and very nice. It has a regular dining room. They get the people up to eat at the table. It's just a nice place. The courtyard was nice. it's out in the country, so they have a nice view."

"My stepfather is at Trustwell Living at Evergreen Place. It's not a big place, which is a plus because I don't want him to get lost being in a bigger facility. They can have their small pets with them, and it's a secure building. They get quite a few choices for their meals. They fill out a form the day before on their choices. Overall, I think he enjoys it there. His room is nice. I got him a queen-sized bed that he can lift the top and the bottom. He's got a recliner in there, a TV, a mini kitchen, and a nice-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's a good-sized room for him. They have a movie room and an outdoor patio. They can do their activities and exercises in the dining room or another room next to the dining room. They go on a bus tour. They'll go and have casino nights and have dinner there. When I first moved him in, I was very happy and he was doing good. And then they started changing staff. And so, I was constantly having to remind them of things and going over his medication. They were hiring younger people and they just didn't seem to be as attentive to their patients. But then they brought back a couple of the ones that were there at the very beginning. And so now, things seem to go back to the way they were."

"When my loved one admitted to the Evergreen Inn she had a serious anxiety disorder. The staff welcomed her and accepted her as part of the community. She quickly fit in and joined the community outings and activities. As my loved one declined it was reassuring to see how the staff's care and compassion made moving out less frightening. "

"I will move into Clearwater Springs. It looks new and remodeled. I have chosen a large suite. It was very nice. They had a dining area. They had crafts and movies. The staff was very nice, and the people who lived there were friendly."

"We visited Bonaventure of Salmon Creek. It looked like a nice community. It was spacious. The people there (both residents and staff) were friendly. It was a little more upscale. It was a little bit more expensive, but it also seemed worth it. The layout of the room was very spacious. There was one big kitchenette, dining room, and living area. The bedroom was separate. They had big bathrooms and walk-in shower rooms. It was set up for it to be convenient for the elderly. I got to go through the dining area. They had a couple. They had a big cafeteria area, and they also had a coffee bar section. It was nice. They had good options for people. They did doctor's appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They did grocery shopping and the library on Mondays and Wednesdays. They also seemed to have a full calendar of events that included trips to different places. They seemed to have a lot of on-site activities, like luaus and stuff like that."

"A Place To Call Home II 30th Court is a nice high-end place. I didn't see anybody except the girl that was giving me the tour. It didn't have much of a courtyard. The building was excellent. They take really good care of their stuff. It's very clean. It's pretty new."
