"For my dad, Mill Ridge Village wasn't a good fit because they only had a studio available. It's more of a city setting versus a suburban setting, so it wasn't the right fit for him. It's normal, clean, and a little bit older. The other place we toured has some younger residents that will show newer residents around and whatnot. The residents at Miller Ridge were kind of to themselves, but the staff was super informative and got us in touch with other places, too. Because of the location, we don't want to waste their time and it just was not the best fit for my dad. We didn't spend too much time there. They had an outdoor area, and it was pretty easy to navigate. We talked to them for a little while in the front office area, but once we found out the price range, what they offered, and the location, we said that we would think about it. It would be a right fit for somebody else. It's clean and it's available, but it's a bit smaller. It's not somewhere that we would choose to go to, but somebody else could. They had quite a bit of feature, and the breakfast smelled good."

"We went to Brookdale Courtyard Puyallup. The staff was nice. We really only dealt with the one lady. I don't remember meeting anybody else. The apartments were kind of small. The grounds weren't too bad. It was a pretty decent place, and they had some nice stuff. They had some good activities. I felt the activity calendar was pretty good. The meals seemed OK, but they had specific mealtimes and that wasn't as appealing. The neighborhood was really quiet. It was really close to lots of shopping and other things. I know they have transportation."

"I toured Aspire Care Adult Family Home. I like the idea that there's a person there to resolve issues as opposed to a waiting list. They have a good ratio. It's a family neighborhood. It's not a huge building. It's just a single-family home. They have wheelchair-size doorways that can handle wheelchairs and wheelchair-accessible showers. I looked at their menu. It seemed OK."

"I went to GenCare LifeStyle at Point Ruston two or three weeks ago. I like the setting. You're right there, you go down stairs, you go out the front door, and you're right in Ruston and the little shops there. There are a lot of different things going on there. So for the atmosphere, I thought it was really nice. Very nice. The rooms were bigger overall. They were bigger with more square footage than the one I saw yesterday. They had a pool and a weight room. There were some different classrooms for doing all kinds of classes. I thought it was really nice from that standpoint. There was more stuff than you could really do. If you could do everything, you're awesome, and you'd be running around like a chicken with your head cut off. They have three meals a day. It's like a restaurant and it's open all the time, so you can go there and eat whenever you want. The staff seemed cordial, and it seemed like they were good staff."

"Brookdale Foundation House had a very nice library and some incredible activities set up. Probably out of all the places that I have seen, they were the ones that were very impressive. The staff was informative and incredibly friendly. They had art-related projects that were up for viewing outside. So, you could see what people did and what they worked on. The apartments themselves were very nice and well-maintained, too."

"My father moved into Avista Sumner. His apartment is nice. So far, everything has been good. I would say, at the very most, they are probably understaffed. But I've seen everybody here participate in everything. They have board games, puzzles, bingo, and exercises. The food needs more salt. The price is reasonable."

"My mom moved into Sound Vista Village a couple of weeks ago. So, we're kind of new there, but for the most part, everything is going well. I like the smaller community, and it seems like the level of nursing and care that my mom is getting is much better than where we were. The staff is great. Everybody is in the mood all the time. Big smile on their face. So life is good. The rooms were nice and clean. The food was good. They have all kinds of good stuff. They've got arts and crafts. They've got a book club. They have happy hour groups where people come in and sing."
