"We went to Brookdale Courtyard Puyallup. The staff was nice. We really only dealt with the one lady. I don't remember meeting anybody else. The apartments were kind of small. The grounds weren't too bad. It was a pretty decent place, and they had some nice stuff. They had some good activities. I felt the activity calendar was pretty good. The meals seemed OK, but they had specific mealtimes and that wasn't as appealing. The neighborhood was really quiet. It was really close to lots of shopping and other things. I know they have transportation."

"I toured Aspire Care Adult Family Home. I like the idea that there's a person there to resolve issues as opposed to a waiting list. They have a good ratio. It's a family neighborhood. It's not a huge building. It's just a single-family home. They have wheelchair-size doorways that can handle wheelchairs and wheelchair-accessible showers. I looked at their menu. It seemed OK."

"I went to GenCare LifeStyle at Point Ruston two or three weeks ago. I like the setting. You're right there, you go down stairs, you go out the front door, and you're right in Ruston and the little shops there. There are a lot of different things going on there. So for the atmosphere, I thought it was really nice. Very nice. The rooms were bigger overall. They were bigger with more square footage than the one I saw yesterday. They had a pool and a weight room. There were some different classrooms for doing all kinds of classes. I thought it was really nice from that standpoint. There was more stuff than you could really do. If you could do everything, you're awesome, and you'd be running around like a chicken with your head cut off. They have three meals a day. It's like a restaurant and it's open all the time, so you can go there and eat whenever you want. The staff seemed cordial, and it seemed like they were good staff."

"We chose Brookdale Foundation House because we want to be somewhere in the suburbs of Seattle. A nice woman showed us a cottage that we loved, and we signed the contract. It was a beautiful place. The deciding factor was the cottage and that the location was excellent. We think it suits us very well. The cottage is spacious with bolted ceilings, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, a whole closet, two bathrooms, and two bedrooms. It was being refurbished with beautiful marble countertops. Having a garage was a big help, too. "

"My father moved into Avista Sumner. His apartment is nice. So far, everything has been good. I would say, at the very most, they are probably understaffed. But I've seen everybody here participate in everything. They have board games, puzzles, bingo, and exercises. The food needs more salt. The price is reasonable."

I like the smaller community, and it seems like the level of nursing and care that my mom is getting is much better than where we were. The staff is great. Everybody is in the mood all the time. Big smile on their face. So life is good. The rooms were nice and clean. The food was good. They have all kinds of good stuff. They've got arts and crafts. They've got a book club. They have happy hour groups where people come in and sing."
