"Sinclair Place was lovely. It was very pleasant. It had a very nice energy to it. The little studio that they showed me was modern, clean, and very well designed. The lady that helped me was very accommodating, very friendly, very informative, and answered all my questions. This place was very nice and very close. My mother would have enjoyed it. The little bit that I saw of the dining room, there were just a lot of happy-looking people in there. There were men and women, very well dressed, and it smelled good. It was a very pleasant-smelling place. There are no odors to it. It just was very clean. I loved Sinclair Place, and I was very pleasantly surprised. It was like a very nice, smaller hotel. They had elevators and such, but it wasn't massive hallways; it wasn't overwhelming. She could have easily maneuvered herself in, and especially if somebody took her to and from the dining room. I think at some point she would have remembered how to get to her dining room, and she would really like the socialization. That's really why I want her in a home because she's very social and would do well with socialization, which she doesn't get right now. I was very happy with it. The staff spent a lot of time with me. Right from the time you drove up to it, there's good easy parking. I saw the residents were coming in and out as they wanted. There was a little gazebo in the middle of the front area. I thought how very pleasant to sit there and visit with someone. It's even well located. It's at a dead-end sort of, but in a nice neighborhood. It is very well located."

"Grandview Village was very nice. They were very friendly. They followed up with me and were open to all different kinds of options. However, they don't have memory care, which we feel to be a possibility for my mom in the future. Nevertheless, the staff was great, and I was able to tour their studio and respite stay rooms."

"My mom moved into MorningStar of Silver Lake. It's wonderful so far. Her room is set up really nice. It's set up for a wheelchair, which she is not that right now, and there's also a washer and dryer in the unit, and they do clean the unit and do the bed linens, but the washer and dryer is for your own use. Everything's great. Yesterday they went to the casino. There was a busload that went to the casino. They have a lot of things. They have music. There was a big sing along yesterday and people came to play the piano there and sing along. It's a really active community. 100 percent clean, clean, clean. No odors in the hallways. The food is very good, and they have a large menu to choose from. There's walking trails, big gardens to go out and walk around in, lots of trees."

"We really liked Summer Hill, and if it is possible for my mom to come here, we would come here. All of the apartments were spacious, and it was a beautiful facility. The staff was the best; they were just really about answering our questions and being a problem solver. They have all sorts of activities not just for their seniors. They have a support group for the residents who had memory issues. "

"My very elderly mother spent a month in this facility after a fall at home and a subsequent diagnosis of dementia. During my mother's stay I had extensive telephone contact with the staff at the Life Care Center of Port Townsend. Toward the end my mother's stay at the Life Care Center, I saw the facility in person several times while visiting my mother, and met several staff members in person about my mother's care needs. I found the staff to be friendly, helpful, professional, and conscientious. I felt that the staff showed genuine concern and care for patients/residents, and they provided me with a great deal of useful advice regarding my mother's needs. While visiting my mother at the Life Care Center, I saw that they had social activities for long-term residents, and that many of the long-term residents had extensively personalized their rooms. During one of my visits I saw an afternoon musical concert performed by the residents. There are other social events for residents, and the facility sends out postcards and a newsletter to families of residents inviting them to these events. The facility seemed exceptionally clean and well-kept. "

"My brother is presently at Josephine Caring Community. They take very good care of him. and he gets pretty good meals. I just get a little frustrated, having to make an appointment to visit my brother. I'm sure a lot of facilities do the same way. The facility is very clean. Yesterday, I met a gentleman in a wheelchair while I was there and he sounded really happy. I met another lady who's in the assisted living and she's been there for 12 years, and she's just happy and she loves the way people treat her. They also do a lot of stuff for different people in different aspects. They have a daycare for kids with terminal diseases and they get all the love and socialization that they need from the staff, and I appreciate that. The building is pretty flat and kind of in a drawn-out area, but they let my brother wander often. He has physical therapy for three days and if he wants to get up and kind of wander the halls in his area or if he wants to go down and find a book, he can do that. Yesterday afternoon, his physical therapist took him outside to walk, so he wasn't kept totally in the building. My uncle visited him over the weekend and they were able to go outside in the sun for a couple of hours too. The other morning, I got an automated call from Josephine Caring Community that they had a couple of residents who had respiratory issues. They were just working people away, which shows that they care about my brother, to inform us what was going on."

"My aunt is at the La Conner Retirement Inn. We chose it because it's five minutes from where I live. It's a fantastic place, way nicer than where she was at. For the same price, she's got her own studio apartment, refrigerator, freezer, and microwave. All her attendants are so kind, and they just treat her with a lot of kindness, love, and respect. She's much happier up here and I can go see her every day. They truly care and love their patients. She doesn't like to eat a lot, but they really cater to what she wants. If she doesn't like the menu, they will make sure she gets something else that she likes for that day. She can choose what she gets. They play games that will help keep them active. In the activity room, they were in chairs and they had a huge ball, and they were bouncing it to one another. There's a lot of things that they can do together. They have cribbage, all sorts of games and puzzles. There are always activities going on for them. They even have a beauty salon."

"Warm Beach Senior Community got apartments for independent living. You go to the other parts for assisted living. And they transition you to nursing home care all up there. It's all there. It's a great place to go to, it's just kind of a little far away. Other than that, we had a meal, and some of the folks were there during breakfast time. They kind of set this all up for us because we'd shown some interest. It's a nice area. It makes it nice to know that you're in the same area and they can just flip you right over. If you're in their assisted living, or even their independent living, and all of a sudden you need nursing duty, that level of care, and if there were some wait times or openings, you would have priority to transition over, because you're already there. Assisted living, memory care, and nursing care are all on one level. Independent living I think is like little apartments, like little duplex apartments. They do tours and stuff like that. They have a lot of activities for folks. You can walk down to the beach. It's a faith-based organization. But, they're not proselytizing or anything like that. You could be an atheist and go there and be welcome and happy."

"We had my father at Selah Family Home when we had a vacation for a few weeks. They have six spacious bedrooms and the residents have their meals in a family atmosphere. They have a day room with a television. They also have two or three nurses caring for them. The owners are very nice people and very helpful. The food is great and home cooked. They have a Christian atmosphere. The place is clean. "

"The general appearance of Mountain Glen Retirement Center was nice. It seemed very clean and very attractive, and the people seemed very friendly. There was no odor, and the residents that I know seemed very happy there. They had a nice, big piano, which was lovely. Their dining area looked very inviting. It was a very nice place, very attractive, and very pleasant. It is a nice place to be when I can't be at home. "

"My mother lived at The Bridge for 5 years prior to her recent passing. It is a bright and welcoming place. Mom enjoyed bingo, flyswatter volleyball, group crossword, and outings in the bus. She was fairly independent on arrival after her stroke-needed the provided 3 meals a day and medication administration. As she declined the facility did bath assist, wheelchair transport to meals, toileting help, etc. The staff is wonderful, facility clean, food is good, there are a lot of activities if you want to participate."
