"The Regency on Whidbey had a space available at the time my cousin was in need of a place to go because of his requirement for care. They were very thorough and their nursing staff was very accommodating to his needs. He had a large studio that was almost like a one-bedroom apartment because it had a dividing wall between the bedroom and the living room. The food was good. The setting was a little nicer than his present situation. It was also more expensive. I liked the way they communicated with the residents. They were very pro-active in keeping track and informing them of events, meals, and those kinds of things. "

"Brookdale Stanwood was awesome. I loved it. The rooms were pretty good and the grounds were OK. They had a place for dementia and Alzheimer's in a different area where they can keep track of them better and the doors were locked only in that one building, so they can't escape. They had activities going. I saw residents there and they all seemed very happy with the place. The staff was very energetic and you could tell the residents just love her to death and they stopped and tried to talk to her as we were walking down the hall. It was really pleasant and it was a very positive experience. They were remodeling one of the rooms I had looked at and the other one, someone was moving in. So, I got to see one empty and one furnished to give you an idea how much furniture you can fit and I thought it was adequate. I looked at the menu and it was pretty good. It wasn't too repetitious. They had a simulated movie theater, and the dining room was very nice. They were doing chair yoga when I was there, they had a lot of games, table games, and stuff in one room, they had a library and an arts and crafts room. They were all very nice at the front desk and other people we passed during the tour and the girl that gave the tour was just awesome. You could tell everybody likes everybody there. It's good enough that it would be on the top 2 that I would take my mom to of the four that I toured."

"Grandview Village was great. It was clean and the person that was leading the tour was very informative. She made sure that I met some people. The units were nice. The common areas were also nice. They have a beauty salon and a courtyard. It just looked like a place I might want to put my mom in."

"The staff at Summer Hill was great. They answered questions. I have a few concerns about whether or not they could keep up with the medical needs that my stepdad has, but I've been assured that that would not be a problem. They came across as very friendly and it's a very active place. I think my folks would be happy there, except they have a little dog, and I'm not sure that they would be able to get the little dog to and from outside. Most of the rooms are on the second story, but there's an elevator, so that's fine. Summer Hill accepts pets. We're looking at a one-bedroom, and they had them on the first floor. They had more common spaces and more activities than the other places."

"I'm at La Conner Retirement Inn, and I'm in one of their cottages. It's fantastic. The staff is very friendly, warm, considerate, and caring. The cottage is like a row house with ample room for me. I do my own cooking, and I'm not into any of their activities yet. I'm still in the process of getting settled, and the activity wasn't the reason I came here. I'm a very independent person. The living atmosphere is wonderful. We're under COVID quarantine, but they have dealt with that very nicely."

"The Cap Sante Court Retirement is very clean. They're very personable and helpful. They're happy there. I think they treat you more like a name instead of an apartment number. It's a good place. The staff is excellent. The food is very good. There are plenty of options. It could probably use some updating as it's older, but it's very well taken care of. They have a lot of activities. I've been busy and haven't been able to participate in it. It's the least expensive place that I toured. I chose this one not because of the price, but because of what you get for the price."

"My husband and I used to live at Warm Beach Heath Care Center. They didn't have an assisted living as such, that's why we moved. They stuck me in the hospital, and they wouldn't let me out. It was wonderful until I got stuck in the hospital there. I liked where we lived. They just didn't have assisted living, which I particularly needed. It's a retirement community, and it has a nursing home. We were in a mobile home, then moved to an apartment. Lunch and dinner were included. There were usually a couple of options on the menu, and it was good food. We could sit with friends and visit until this COVID thing came up. We really enjoyed living there. I really liked the apartment we had. My husband also liked it because he could get out and roam. It was connected with Warm Beach concert grounds where they do Lights of Christmas, and he could get a nice hike in there all the way down to the beach and back up. He really enjoyed that part."

"We like Salem Village very much. We have our own apartment, we do our own cooking, and we have our own laundry. It's like a little house all of our own. We're on our own for activities. We have a car and a garage and we go out every two days to do shopping. There's a landlord and he's very helpful and they take care of everything outside of our place and inside if it needs fixing, but we have to keep our own house clean. "

"My brother moved to Creekside Continuing Care Community. The reason we chose it was because of proximity. The staff is great. The rooms are clean. They really address maintenance issues in a timely manner. I like the staff because of their professionalism, help, knowledge, ease of contact, and concern. They have activities and it's easy to access, proximity to a town, and it has big windows outdoors, very outdoorsy. I think there's also attention to nutrition and calories and they're very concerned about quality and health issues, good portions. There's a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, and that was a positive. They have activities that they do at home, like music, movies, games, and get-togethers. They've got a good library. The only thing I'd like to complain about is their exercise room. They probably need a more extensive exercise room. I think everything's expensive, but for what they're providing I think their base rate is good for the food. I could say it's very good. The only thing I would recommend a little more thoroughly is just more outdoor space for the residents, perhaps an enclosed park-like environment, much more grass and trees."

"The Woodgate Apartment is the place for me. I like how it looks, the safety, and the people. I've met quite few residents and they love the place, too. It's also just 3 miles from my kids. The manager is a lovely woman. I like that she's very understanding, very caring and would go the extra mile for the people that live there. The grounds are beautiful. Every little place has a little yard. I'm very happy with that. "

"I really liked the grounds at Cedar Pointe Apartments. Everything was really neat and clean. It was modern and new. The staff was very nice. I liked the apartments. They're a little small, but they were a really cute little place with very friendly staff and friendly residents. They don't serve food. You're all on your own (which I prefer), but if you want to go eat at a table with your neighbors, you can certainly do that. They have a little kitchenette area down there where they have the tables. As far as activities, the residents organized them and got them going."

"I will be moving into The Fifth Avenue. The thing I liked most about it was that my apartment was close to the activities at the center, so it would make it convenient for me to be able to join things. The apartments were very clean and very neat. Mine was a little smaller than I would have liked, but the only other one that was available was way down at the end of a long corridor, and I didn't want that. All the staff who assisted me were very, very pleasant, very nice, and very knowledgeable. I had 3 or 4 because I kept going back to look. So far, it's been a delightful experience. They had concerts, card games, a puzzle room, a library, lectures, and social hours."

"The Vintage at Arlington Senior Apartments has decent facilities. There's no in-suite laundry, but they have multiple laundry rooms on each floor. There were no balconies. It's not a bad place, but there are better. It's independent and no meals are provided. They have resident-lead activities, like game nights and Bible studies. They have a puzzle room and a billiards room. The particular employee I met with seemed a little new and didn't know absolutely everything. So it wasn't a bad experience, but after visiting some other sister properties, it was clear that that employee was new."
