"This was one place that I like a lot, but at that time, they didn't have any opening. It was a very nice facility. They have a quota of Medicaid/Medicare and they're already filled. I got to see some rooms and they're all fine. The staff was very nice people. Some of them were good, though some were not. "

"Grandview Village seemed to be a very nice facility. They've got very nice people. I don't know anything about the food other than what they told me. They seemed to have activities and exercises. Their transportation was down at the time, but I'm guessing it's probably functional again. The rooms were unfurnished, but they seemed very nice. It looks like they have an emergency button on the wall for them to use like in a hospital. The staff was very friendly and very helpful."

"We had originally chosen Gencare Lifestyle at Granite Falls, but when my mother-in-law started declining, they said they couldn't take her because they don't have a memory care unit. So we had to select a different place. It was a very homey feeling, it was very laid back. It is not a fancy place by any means, but everyone seemed very closely connected and the staff was very friendly. Their rooms were spacious and very nice, I liked them. I did not try their food. I didn't care for their dining area too much because they had glass on their table tops and plastic tablecloths. It's a much smaller community and was very cramped, so that's one of the things I didn't care for at that facility. Everyone was in the activity room playing games and was very happy about it."

"We like Salem Village very much. We have our own apartment, we do our own cooking, and we have our own laundry. It's like a little house all of our own. We're on our own for activities. We have a car and a garage and we go out every two days to do shopping. There's a landlord and he's very helpful and they take care of everything outside of our place and inside if it needs fixing, but we have to keep our own house clean. "

"Skagit Valley Senior Village (Formerly Creekside Continuing Care Community) is assisted living, and they even have dementia quarters. It's nice, but I'm not one that wants to get dressed up to go for breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday. I have eaten there, and it was a big dining room. It was very good food, there's nothing to complain about, I just don't want to eat like that everyday. The staff was very good. "

"The Woodgate Apartment is the place for me. I like how it looks, the safety, and the people. I've met quite few residents and they love the place, too. It's also just 3 miles from my kids. The manager is a lovely woman. I like that she's very understanding, very caring and would go the extra mile for the people that live there. The grounds are beautiful. Every little place has a little yard. I'm very happy with that. "

"La Conner is very neat, and it’s kind of cozy. It doesn’t have a smell like a nursing home has. It’s clean, and the people running it are very friendly. It’s assisted and independent living. The room is very nice and cozy, but the only strange thing is that they’ve included a stove. People are not allowed to cook; all the meals are provided. I just had one meal there, and it was excellent. The dining area was nice. It’s right in La Conner, so residents can walk to stores and restaurants. "

"The Cap Sante Court Retirement is very clean. They're very personable and helpful. They're happy there. I think they treat you more like a name instead of an apartment number. It's a good place. The staff is excellent. The food is very good. There are plenty of options. It could probably use some updating as it's older, but it's very well taken care of. They have a lot of activities. I've been busy and haven't been able to participate in it. It's the least expensive place that I toured. I chose this one not because of the price, but because of what you get for the price."

"Chandler's Square seemed like a lovely place, and they were very kind to show us around. They had a choice of meals each day. There was a lot of light in the rooms, and they were nicely-furnished. The staff I met was very pleasant. "

"Warm Beach Senior Community got apartments for independent living. You go to the other parts for assisted living. And they transition you to nursing home care all up there. It's all there. It's a great place to go to, it's just kind of a little far away. Other than that, we had a meal, and some of the folks were there during breakfast time. They kind of set this all up for us because we'd shown some interest. It's a nice area. It makes it nice to know that you're in the same area and they can just flip you right over. If you're in their assisted living, or even their independent living, and all of a sudden you need nursing duty, that level of care, and if there were some wait times or openings, you would have priority to transition over, because you're already there. Assisted living, memory care, and nursing care are all on one level. Independent living I think is like little apartments, like little duplex apartments. They do tours and stuff like that. They have a lot of activities for folks. You can walk down to the beach. It's a faith-based organization. But, they're not proselytizing or anything like that. You could be an atheist and go there and be welcome and happy."

"I went to Summer Hill Assisted Living. I would say they're quite good. It seemed to be very pleasant and clean. They were all very pleasant and helpful. They had a pleasant dining room. They had quite a variety of activities like trips to go shopping or just to go for a drive, and they had Bingo and things like that available to the residents."

"The Vintage at Arlington Senior Apartments has decent facilities. There's no in-suite laundry, but they have multiple laundry rooms on each floor. There were no balconies. It's not a bad place, but there are better. It's independent and no meals are provided. They have resident-lead activities, like game nights and Bible studies. They have a puzzle room and a billiards room. The particular employee I met with seemed a little new and didn't know absolutely everything. So it wasn't a bad experience, but after visiting some other sister properties, it was clear that that employee was new."

"Vintage at Lakewood has wonderful facilities, in-suite laundry, reasonable prices, and helpful and friendly staff. They had multiple game and activity rooms and an on-site salon. Their facilities are everything that I'm looking for."
