"Spring Creek by Bonaventure was wonderful, but you have to be a private pay the whole time your family member is there. It never rolls into Medicaid, so that could be as much as $7000 or more a month until the person dies, so that's a lot. That was frustrating because that was really where we wanted my sister to go. Originally, I visited for memory care, and then I went on to a visit in assisted living. I liked the activities, the stimulation, the rooms, the apartments that the residents had, and the cleanliness the best. It's lovely. The rooms are a great size, more than enough, very clean, floors were current, no chips, no cracks, nothing that would concern me. They have everything. The staff was very friendly to us and very helpful. I didn't deal with the kitchen staff, the dining room staff, or the cleaning staff, but the people who were trying to get us to sign up were helpful. They have a chef on staff who was new to the facility, and he came over and spoke to us. He makes pastries, so there were all kinds of fresh pastry everywhere for the residents to go and get whenever they wanted. They had like a walking group. They took them out to activities throughout the month or whatever."

"Solstice Senior Living at Bellingham was very nice. We were shown a couple of different apartments and they were all very nice. The only problem that we had was that they don't take Medicaid. They had a studio there that had a kitchenette, a room for the living area, a nice bathroom, and a nice bedroom. The only problem with the bathroom was that there was a bathtub, and you had to step over into the bathtub to get in to take a shower. Otherwise, it was very nice. They had a nice sliding door out onto a patio. They showed us another room upstairs that didn't have a kitchenette. It was just a bedroom, a bathroom and a sitting area, but it was very nice and it was more affordable. It's something that we might go back to see. The staff during the tour was very helpful. She gave us all kinds of good information. I appreciate that. I didn't associate with very many staff, but the lady that gave us the tour was very, very good. "

"The wellness staff was always accurate and timely with the meds. Mom condition improved some when she moved into Country Meadows. I attribute this to her reliably getting all her meds on time. The unit was perfect.. It was a 2 bedroom 2 bath so, my out of town brother could stay in the unit when he flew to town. The staff was very caring and compassionate right up through Hospice, in the unit. They all seem willing to jump in and do whatever is required."

"Affinity at Bellingham has been my home for over 5 years. I have pleasant neighbors and the independence I love. Affinity offers many amenities but they'd be meaningless without capable management holding everything together. We have a second-to-none Maintenance Team that often responds to a request for service the same day I make it. Our common living spaces are kept clean, especially important during our recent COVID pandemic. Office staff, including Director, work well as a team. I see our Management Team as the human face of a successful business. This isn't an inexpensive place to live. But given the hassle-free life I enjoy, I'm definitely getting my money's worth."

"My dad lives in Rosewood Villa. We chose them because they are a Medicaid facility. The atmosphere there is very good. The staff is just very helpful and understanding. His room is very cozy and clean. It has a beautiful view, and it is spacious. The food is good. I wouldn't say it is great, but it's sufficient. They have activities and plenty of game nights. They have plenty of physical therapy sessions. Besides games, they have different things that they do to get people together for social activities."

"Cordata Court was my favorite of all the places I toured. I was talking to one of the ladies who was in charge, and she was really nice and friendly. I liked the building and everything inside. The facility was so cozy and warm. The rooms looked great. Everything around looked really homey and cozy. It was a friendly environment. The residents were eating lunch and they were all smiling and friendly."

"I'm looking at Hamilton Place as the one I am going to choose. It's more like something I would prefer to live in. It was quieter, and to me it looked like a little more organized or well-kept. The second and third floors even have balconies whereas in the other place, only the bottom floor had a patio. It was a little more expensive, but it seemed to be a little bit bigger and I liked the looks of it. "

"The staff is nothing short of amazing. My father is in assisted living. the staff is always friendly ,helpful and looking out for his best interests. The facility is always very clean, open and bright. the facility never has the smell I associate with hospitals and nursing homes. Many daily activities if you so choose to participate. Have not had the food which always smells good when they are preparing. we are so happy to have our dad in this facility as he likes living here . He always comments that he is lucky to be living here"

"My dad's girlfriend was a resident of Vineyard Park of Lynden Manor. It seemed to be very clean. She had her own private room. It was small, but it was definitely clean. It had a nice sense of community. There always seemed to be a group of people around in the lounge or in the eating area together, or outside sitting in the gazebo in the sun. It seemed like they were really close, like the people took care of each other, and I like that. It seemed like a really lovely place. I just really like the place. The place was gorgeous. My dad's girlfriend's room had a countertop with a microwave and a little cook oven, and then there's a very small refrigerator. There's a sitting room. The bedroom was separate from the sitting room with a bathroom in the bedroom. It's very small. It was small but it was hers."

"We visited Chandler's Square Senior Living Community. We saw independent living, but they also have an associated facility for people who are requiring a little more assistance. Unfortunately, all of these places don't have a lot of space. There's a waiting list for certain kinds of units. They provide a little bit of additional assisted living care, for example, someone to help with medications and things like that. They don't always have a skilled nursing person at the facility except in the assisted living area. Because of Covid, it's difficult to get in and out. Our contact with people, while we were there, was limited to some degree. They provide meals and transportation for independent living. The units were small, but they provide sort of an efficiency apartment and one or two-bedroom type apartments. Unfortunately, the availability of the larger units is pretty limited. I think the waiting list to get on to like a two-bedroom unit would be something like maybe a year or a year and a half. The staff and everything there seemed good and really on top of things. It's a multilevel facility that has an elevator. They have some rooms that can be used for social or community gatherings, but during Covid, those haven't been used as much, but there is something like a social activities area that is being used as far as they can use it during the Covid pandemic. We were not touring at a time when they were serving meals. I had asked to see if they had some sort of sample menu, so I could kind of see what the weekly offerings and things would be, but they didn't have that available for us when we were touring. Because of the space they have, they've had to do a multilevel, but as long as the elevator is working, it should be fine."

"The Cap Sante Court Retirement is very clean. They're very personable and helpful. They're happy there. I think they treat you more like a name instead of an apartment number. It's a good place. The staff is excellent. The food is very good. There are plenty of options. It could probably use some updating as it's older, but it's very well taken care of. They have a lot of activities. I've been busy and haven't been able to participate in it. It's the least expensive place that I toured. I chose this one not because of the price, but because of what you get for the price."

"The Woodgate Apartment is the place for me. I like how it looks, the safety, and the people. I've met quite few residents and they love the place, too. It's also just 3 miles from my kids. The manager is a lovely woman. I like that she's very understanding, very caring and would go the extra mile for the people that live there. The grounds are beautiful. Every little place has a little yard. I'm very happy with that. "

"We have chosen Creekside Continuing Care Community and the big selling point was two things. I have a 94-year-old brother that's close by to that. The other thing is they have cottages, which is a good transition for us. Creekside has 29 cottages that surround the main big building, and I'm still independent, but my wife needs more care. We both love the idea of being in the cottage yet still being able to walk up a few steps and have all of the advantages of the food, programs, and exercise. Everyone was nice. The food was quite good. They have a big dining room with white tablecloths and then they have two other little restaurants there that you can go to if you don't want to go to the main dining room and you can do that for 10 to 12 hours a day. The facility was nice. It has a small-town atmosphere and there are a lot of restaurants and stores nearby, not that you would need them because everything's furnished. The cottage is large enough that I can take my baby grand piano with me. I was very impressed with the wide hallways and decent-sized rooms and banisters all along when you walk down and clean, with no smells. The staff was friendly."

"We like Salem Village very much. We have our own apartment, we do our own cooking, and we have our own laundry. It's like a little house all of our own. We're on our own for activities. We have a car and a garage and we go out every two days to do shopping. There's a landlord and he's very helpful and they take care of everything outside of our place and inside if it needs fixing, but we have to keep our own house clean. "
