Assisted Living Communities in Lynden, WA

"The doors were all locked well, so you have to communicate to get in. If you're a senior who's worried about safety, you don't need to worry about that. It's a secure place. It also looked nice. It's modern, and it has been renovated. The hallways were nice, wide, and airy. The rooms were small, but I guess for one or two people, they're adequate. For us, it's small because we would have to get rid of a lot of stuff. Emily was wonderful, and she was excellent at her job. The dining area was restaurant style and looked nice. They also have a patio where you can eat outside with tables and a nice courtyard in the middle that had lots of flowers and birds. It's just lovely. They also had a room where people can cook, and then for the men, they make birdhouses, play jigsaw puzzles, and do all sorts of games. They also play bingo every day, and they have entertainment once a week where a jazz band comes in. They're very sociable. It's like they're a family where everybody knows each other, so they're all very pleasant. They gave us lunch, and it was very nice too. We had lots of ham, black scalloped potatoes, broccoli, cupcakes, and juice or whatever we wanted to drink. They also had a laundry room where a lady did all the laundry, and they had a cleaning staff. They do everything for you, they're very efficient, and they do a good job."

"Brookdale Fairhaven has a great staff. The residents are well taken care of. My wife's been very happy. She's had a little bit of an issue with transferring, which to date has kept her in bed. I feel like they haven't seen what she can do. She's been there about three weeks now, but she hasn't gotten out of bed yet because they don't feel comfortable enough to transfer her. She's ready to transfer. So, that's one thing that's been a problem, but overall I would give Brookdale Fairhaven high marks. They've got a good manager and I've been happy with their care. They're very expensive but they do their job. They have plenty of activities. Unfortunately, my wife has been confined to her bed because of the transfer issues, so she hasn't been able to enjoy that or dining in the dining room. So we're waiting for her to be involved in those services, but they have lots of entertainment for the seniors. I think the food's been pretty good."

"I'm in Meadows Green because of the location, the desirability as a community, and the surrounding environment of a golf course. They have an activities director who was open to ideas, and they do a number of musicals, shopping transportation, book club, and the traditional bingo. We get three meals a day with variety, and it's good."

"My husband's uncle and aunt have lived at Christian Health Care Center, and they loved it. It's busy and friendly. The room was nice. It's similar to a hospital room, but they had everything very nice for my uncle and aunt. They had everything they needed. They couldn't say enough good things about the place. They loved being there. For what they're getting, it's well worth it. The place looked clean and well-kept. It didn't smell or anything."

"My dad's girlfriend was a resident of Vineyard Park of Lynden Manor. It seemed to be very clean. She had her own private room. It was small, but it was definitely clean. It had a nice sense of community. There always seemed to be a group of people around in the lounge or in the eating area together, or outside sitting in the gazebo in the sun. It seemed like they were really close, like the people took care of each other, and I like that. It seemed like a really lovely place. I just really like the place. The place was gorgeous. My dad's girlfriend's room had a countertop with a microwave and a little cook oven, and then there's a very small refrigerator. There's a sitting room. The bedroom was separate from the sitting room with a bathroom in the bedroom. It's very small. It was small but it was hers."
