"We had a really good tour of Edmonds Landing. I like the location, it was right near the downtown, the amenities, and the activities. They have a great dining room and food service. The person who showed me around was very pleasant, but the staff wasn't quite as interactive as they were with the other place I toured. I didn't like the layout as much, but it's still alright. They had a salon, exercise activities, they have a special menu and they also have a courtyard. Everything was clean, neat, and tidy. It's near some restaurants, the hospital is about four or five miles away. They had good-sized bedrooms, even their studio sizes were pretty good."

"Sound Vista Village was very clean, organized, and friendly. The people seemed happy. The lady that toured me around was open and answered all my questions professionally. I saw three different apartments. I liked the one bedroom the best because it was bigger and seemed more like a home. The other two were two different studio apartments. They were very nice, but I just couldn't see my dad living there. They were small, but they were all very nice for what they were. They supply refrigerators and a microwave inside the unit. One thing my dad didn't like was they didn't have a washer and dryer inside the apartment. These appliances were in the hallway (although they could have the option of having the staff do their clothes)."

"The reason I wouldn't go to Covenant Shores was that they charged over $5,000 if you needed nursing assistance. It was almost $5,500 a month, and I couldn't afford that. In the independent living, you buy your little apartment, and then you pay extra number of dollars for all of the facilities, usage, and diner every night. I was looking at a one-bedroom apartment with a fully built-in kitchen. I liked that it was close to Seattle, and I was not afraid of traffic. It was also close to the city where I live right now. They had almost every activity you want. They had a wood shop and a boat dock. They had a nursing facility on site -- almost a mini-hospital. They had their own bus that would take you shopping. It was a beautiful with lots of trees and green lawns with big walks. It was very nice. The food was excellent. Everybody was encouraged to exercise and eat right. Everybody was in good health. "

"I am in the process of getting into Reserve at Seatac. It is a very nice place. The people are very accommodating. All I have to do is give them one piece of documentation, call them back, and very soon I should become a resident there. It may be a week or two before I move in, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm very excited. I definitely was able to visit the Reserve at Seatac. Reserve at Seatac is mainly for people 55 and older; it is a very nice place. The apartment that I more or less want has everything in there. It has a washer-and-dryer, which is very nice. It has a refrigerator, a range, and a dishwasher, which is an added plus because that is what I wanted. They have a terrace, additional storage, and parking for their residents. They allow maybe one or two pets there, but of course you have to pay a pet fee. It is great because my cat can also be there with me; I'm really quite happy. Their staff has been very accommodating. They keep in contact with me by phone and by email. The place looks very nice, is very clean, and accommodating. I understand they have security, and that's very good, too."

"My friend is now at Peninsula. It is beautiful. She loves it. Everything is fantastic. She said that she wished she had moved there much sooner. The staff members are fantastic. They're very accommodating. My friend is extremely happy. The only problem is that they just got a new cook and he needs to know how to make things moist, because their food gets dry. They have so many things, like they watch movies, and they play games. On Groundhog's Day, I was there with them and they had a scavenger hunt for the groundhog. They have some bible study classes and field trips, and they have a game room with a pool table in it. They have exercise classes, coloring classes, bingo, and cards. The place is beautiful."

"Cogir of Kirkland only has assisted living, they don't have memory care. It's a lovely place. They showed me a studio apartment that was quite lovely. The place itself was very nice and the staff was nice, but they couldn't provide what my husband needs. I would like to have a swimming pool and they don't have a swimming pool, but they have everything else. I'd go there myself. The room they showed me was a corner room. There was a bed, a couch, a TV, and a very small kitchen. It's large enough. The dining area was probably 25 steps away. The people that I talked to were charming and wonderful. They were great."

"I toured their independent living section of The Watermark at Bellevue, and it's very nice and very high-end. As a matter of fact, up on the top floor, they have a penthouse there for $12,000 a month. The lower floors are cheaper. For people who like city life, it's like living in a big city where you have to pay for parking, and that's not my cup of tea. I want something more rural where I can drive in, drive out, and not have to pay for parking. I'm just more of a suburban type. It was very nice, though. I've been there twice, and their food was excellent. The facilities were very nice because they're new, so everything was perfect."

"We went to see Gencare Lifestyle Lynnwood at Scriber Gardens about a week and a half ago. It had a gym but we couldn't afford it. It's back to the money thing. It was clean though and they were friendly. They had everything my husband wanted like it was close to stores so he could get on his little scooter and take off. The staff we met seemed like she was more into selling than looking for a place that would make my husband happy. It was the assisted living that we toured that day. My husband tried the food and he liked it. The place was very clean. They have a gym, a salon and they have activities you can do every day. My husband liked where the place was and that there was a Safeway and a dollar store there so he could get to it as much as he needed to."

"I'm a resident at Kenmore Senior Living. It's a very nice place to live. The staff members are very caring and attentive. My apartment is comparable. It has all the amenities. I have been here for almost nine years. They have a movie theater, a library, an exercise room, a dining room, nice hallways to walk in and exercise, and a nice courtyard. The chef does an outstanding job with the food."

"GenCare Lifestyle Tacoma at Point Ruston is a new place. The apartments were very nice. The food was great. The cafeteria was very nice. However, there was no place for a dog, and we have a dog. They showed us an apartment on the sixth floor, and I want a ground floor. It was an okay apartment. It was clean and nice, but it had no balcony, no patio, and no outside space. And I can't live in a box. We had lunch there, and it was very good. The people were very nice. The amenities were very nice. It's just the apartment itself was just an apartment. We have a house that has 14-foot ceilings and lots of glass, and there, I felt like I'm in a little box and I couldn't do it. There was no access to the outside, which was the big downfall, and the fact that there was no grassy area for the dogs. The staff were all very nice and very helpful. They took us around and showed us the swimming pool. The amenities were very, very nice. "

"I have been here for several months now. I find the food to be a bit too salty. They have a menu with a healthy choice every day but still has up to 700 mg of sodium in it. That is too much for me, and I cannot eat it. Other than that, there is a very good breakfast every day included in the monthly fee. Some people have one-bedroom apartments and a few people have two-bedroom apartments. The studio apartments are smaller than other apartments with bedroom. It is a very nice place and retirement center."
