We met several people at Brookdale West Seattle and they seemed very happy. They were very welcoming, nice, and very helpful. It's an old building and it reminded me of an old hotel, but it was clean. There's a grassy area around the building, but you'd have to go across a busy street to get to the park, which does not suit me at all. The food was pretty good, but the dining area (again it's an old building) has the color that I call kind of institutional, between beige/brown/tan. It was clean, too, but I like something that's a little brighter and whiter.

Brookdale West Seattle was clean and modern, and the people were very nice. I looked at the rooms and they were all very nice. They have outings, movies, and they have games they do in their library. So they have quite a bit of activity for the residents. The staff was very nice and the facilities were well-maintained.

Brookdale West Seattle was a terrific facility. It was almost brand new. They had great staff. They had lots of open spaces and 2 outdoor gathering places that were really nice. They had wonderful activities going on. The residents were very, very friendly and welcoming to us. Lindsey assisted us with the tour and she was just focused on finding the right needs from my mom and assuring us that they can provide the care she needs. She showed us studios, a 1-bedroom apartment, and a 2-bedroom apartment. We did eat there and it was very good.

Brookdale West Seattle was very nice and seemed very warm and congenial. I toured a bunch of places and it was all good. They had crafts, games, movies, they had people come in to give talks and lectures, and musicians come in. Because I'm independent, I wasn't planning on really focusing on much of the in-house stuff. The rooms were good. I like the kitchens. I was looking at one facing out over the golf course, which had a very nice view of the woods. The staff sent me a video of another room which was on a corner and the top facing downtown which had a fantastic view of the city, so it was very nice. The rooms had fireplaces. It was kind of an eclectic little neighborhood, with lots of veterinarians and things nearby. It was a nice facility. I found the staff to be very friendly. We stopped and talked to a couple of the nurses and the chef came by. Everybody seemed very friendly and helpful. I met the chef and apparently she's been there a long time. I like the layout of the rooms, the kitchens, the ease of public transportation, the neighborhood seemed walkable, and I like the decor of the facility. I also like the fact that they had covered parking.

Brookdale West Seattle was pretty spacious and well located. The options for bedrooms were pretty well established. They had a good schedule of events, a menu, and everything. So overall, it's a pretty impressive place. The staff were patient and walked us through everything. They try to understand and spend some time with us in understanding our needs. They showed us two studio rooms, those are becoming available for them. The kitchen and the dining area are where you could hang out with other people and get your meals. After hours, if you needed food, you could get those. The actual arrangements are pretty good. Recreational facilities were a movie night and other play areas. There were other areas where you could socialize with similarly aged people. They were pretty open and wide. The reason I give the facilities a four is I didn't know there were other bigger choices of rooms, etcetera. But overall, I think the facility was pretty good and it's nice.

I toured Brookdale West Seattle, and they were very nice. They have a beauty salon, and she showed me that; it was open. The dining facilities look nice. She offered me a drink while we were touring, but I didn't accept. The apartments I saw were lovely. They have a rooftop deck with a fantastic view of the whole city. It was very nice. I saw the activity rooms, and the different places in the building where they held their activities. They had just had a party the day before and the decorations were still up. I think they are pretty active, and they try to keep the residents active.

Brookdale West Seattle was a very nice place. They seemed to have a lot of amenities to offer. The location was very nice. The rooms were comfortable looking and quite good sized. Everything was nice and clean. The only one I talked to was the one who took us on the tour, and she seemed quite knowledgeable, very personable, and easy to be with. They seemed to have all the kinds of things that I was interested in. The rooms were nice. I didn't have the chance to try the food, but I'd rate the facility pretty high.

Brookdale West Seattle was very nice. I liked the amenities, and the staff was extremely nice and very helpful. Everyone was very kind and very nice. I looked at an apartment there that I like a lot. I was in love with it, actually. It seemed larger than the ones at the other community. It also had a beautiful view. Their activities were better than the things that were offered at the other community. They had Tai Chi once a week, and that's important to me. However, I found the downstairs common area to be gloomy.

Brookdale West Seattle was a nice facility, but I didn't like the unit as much as others I've seen. My sister-in-law smokes, which is obviously an issue. I liked the facility, but it was not right for her. It was for a person who enjoys being in the city. We saw a one-bedroom, and I didn't like where it was located because it overlooked a rooftop, but it seemed like a nice unit.

Brookdale is really nice, and we like it very much. It's only been a month since Mom moved in, so we'll see how it works out. They're doing everything they can. Her apartment is a one-bedroom, and she's thinking of taking a larger two-bedroom. The staff is very good, very nice, and pretty upbeat.

I thought the facilities of Brookdale West Seattle were excellent and the manager was very warm and inviting. The reason I didn’t choose them is because my mother has had gardens her entire life and I didn’t think there were enough scenery around her because there weren't any balconies or anything like that. The rooms were very clean and adequate for her needs. It just wasn’t in the right location.

Brookdale West Seattle seemed like a good place. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Our only concern was that she would have a private room upstairs, and she might have been a little isolated and not got out like she does now in a group home. When we visited, there were people in the dining room that showed us around the facility. There weren’t activities at that time, although they had a schedule for the different activities and the times they took place. There were various people sitting at the dining room. It seemed to be clean. I talked to a few of the residents who said the food was good.

I chose Emeritus at West Seattle for my parents because of its proximity to my home and because it is a small community. There are just about 70 to 90 residents, versus other facilities that are huge. And when I went there, people that I interacted with seemed very caring, and they made me feel confident that my parents will be well taken care of. The staff are very friendly and they made my parents feel welcome. The rooms are fine. I would appreciate it if they were just a little more prepared beforehand with regards to their medications or the things my parents needed. With the activities, they do have a lot of daily activities. They also bring the residents to park or to the beach. They also bring them to movies on the weekend. They really do a lot of really nice things.
