"I'm at Regency Newcastle, and I'm very happy with it. If you have a need for anything, they have people here that will help you (with showers, laundry, etc.). The food is just more than I want."

"The rooms at Solstice Senior Living at Renton were tiny. I didn't like the floor plans because there was a lot of wasted space, especially in the cottages. The 2-bedroom apartment that I looked at was the same floor plan as the cottage. They didn't have a washer/dryer inside the apartments, which I would have preferred, but the cottages do. The staff was very nice. I saw the laundry room, the exercise room, and the cafeteria. The food that I had there could be better."

"Overlake Terrace is where my dad resides right now. They have a new executive director, and he does a great job. I think the rooms are clean, and the med techs are very confident and always on top of things. When we left him there -- even though it’s private pay because the Medicaid spend down for those who accept Medicaid -- they charge you a lot more during two year or three year spend down window. and when you cost it out on a spreadsheet it just made more sense to keep him at Overlake Terrace. They have a lot of outings and little community center setup for people doing puzzles together. I think on Fridays they have a wine down where band or singers come in. The community that I visited, is probably one of the better ones. I like what they do. All things considered, I think they do a good job. He is happy there. "

"Cogir of Kirkland only has assisted living, they don't have memory care. It's a lovely place. They showed me a studio apartment that was quite lovely. The place itself was very nice and the staff was nice, but they couldn't provide what my husband needs. I would like to have a swimming pool and they don't have a swimming pool, but they have everything else. I'd go there myself. The room they showed me was a corner room. There was a bed, a couch, a TV, and a very small kitchen. It's large enough. The dining area was probably 25 steps away. The people that I talked to were charming and wonderful. They were great."

"My relative is in Cogir of Queen Anne. The food is wonderful. It's a very nice atmosphere. However, as their agents, we had to keep track of their care, but their staff has been accessible. The rooms are very nice. The chef has a very nice menu and there are choices every day. The food is delicious. They have exercises, lectures, music, and art activities. It's expensive."

"Empress Senior Living was amazing. It was more expensive, but I seriously considered it. It's just that the rooms were kind of small and a little depressing. They didn't have carpet in them. Also, there's only 17 people there right now, so there's nobody in the memory care. They're still trying to fill up the place. They're really new, so they don't have very many peoplel, which made it not a good fit, but again the people were absolutely fantastic. I really, really, really like them."

"I chose Emeritus at West Seattle for my parents because of its proximity to my home and because it is a small community. There are just about 70 to 90 residents, versus other facilities that are huge. And when I went there, people that I interacted with seemed very caring, and they made me feel confident that my parents will be well taken care of. The staff are very friendly and they made my parents feel welcome. The rooms are fine. I would appreciate it if they were just a little more prepared beforehand with regards to their medications or the things my parents needed. With the activities, they do have a lot of daily activities. They also bring the residents to park or to the beach. They also bring them to movies on the weekend. They really do a lot of really nice things. "

"I toured Holiday Bridge Park. The gentleman who showed me around was very kind and considerate, and it looked like a pretty great place to be. The staff was great. The rooms were very nice."

"Brookdale Admiral Heights was great. I like the neighborhood. The place itself was comfortable. Everything was very clean. I looked at two apartments. The studio apartment seemed very small, but the 1-bedroom was more to the point. I like that one pretty well too. The people were extremely nice. The staff was extremely pleasant. I had lunch there, and their food was delicious. It was beautifully presented but it was sparse. There wasn't quite enough food."

"We had a tour of the facility and were very impressed with the spacious rooms, the facilities, the planned activities and the restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxed and everyone we spoke with seemed very happy with the standard of service they received, the culture there and the lifestyle they enjoyed. When the time comes for my mom to take this next step, she’s excited to be part of this community."

"My mother moved to memory care about 3 months ago. Her care is very good; the staff are attentive and responsive to her needs and my questions/concerns. There are daily activities that she is encouraged/supported in participating in such as art and music, and she gets 3 good meals a day. Her studio apartment is spacious and clean, and she is always well groomed and in clean clothes when I see her. "

"I love El Dorado West and I love the people there and the community itself. My mother was really content there even though she was only there for a short time. Her apartment was very nice and very clean, and the place is beautiful. I got to eat there a couple of times, the meal was very delicious and nourishing. The food was very good."

"We were able to see Bellewood for my dad. It's very warm, more of a lodge style. The person that we talked to was Carol and she was incredible. We did not have the food, but the food looked good. They had a workout room, activities, facilities, and the grounds were beautiful. They had a movie theater room that was used for lectures, social activities, and movies, and they also had a cafe. It had a much more homey feel than the other place I toured. The staff worked very closely together and all seemed very cohesive and interested in us. The rooms were very nice, the first-floor room, in particular, that had a little deck or a little patio. So you can just be outside or sit outside on the patio."
