"Riverside East was nice. It was smaller, and the rooms were smaller. Everything was smaller. They seemed to have a meeting room, they do have some transportation, and they seem to have basically the same amenities. Part of the problem was that it was a little darker. It was not as bright as the other places that we were looking at, and that was a concern to us. But other than that, the people seemed friendly. It was just a much smaller group of people. A nurse was available most of the time, so that was interesting. "

"We visited The Creekside. We were impressed by it, but the price was a little bit higher than we thought it would be. The rooms were fine. In fact, some of them were much better than where we're at. However, the common dining room was a little bit smaller than I expected it to be, and there were not as many people in it. Also, there wasn't much social going on at that time. It was just before noon when we visited. "

"I went to Kenmore Senior Living. It was newly refurbished and the decor was very nice. The pictures on the painting look good on the wall. And the pictures on the wall were nice. The flooring was good. They had outdoor facilities like a garden that was in the center of the community. The community was around this garden, which is nice to have. Then they had an outdoor, long patio that people could go to. They did have a fitness room and they had a physical exercise in the morning if you want it to go. The rooms were more updated. The dining room experience was very good. They had waitresses coming to your table to see what you wanted to eat. We ate in the dining room. I thought the food was good. I guess no place is super good. I think I liked whatever the selection was for that day that I could choose from. The head of the facility, Ricky, was very conscientious to show us around. And I met the nurse. She seemed very capable."

"Empress Senior Living was a brand-new facility. It was very, very nice inside. I thought the layout was very good. It had a nice rooftop garden, a nice dining facility, and nice staff. It was also very clean. They had a very nice coffee bar and a nice library with a fireplace. It's just a tough area to get to for parking. They have street-side parking and it's in the university area, so there's a little bit of traffic to get from the freeway over to it, but the people were very friendly and very hospitable."

"Overlake Terrace is a great facility. My mother is doing as well as can be expected. I would recommend them. The food is fantastic. I had lasagna with fresh spinach, shrimp Caesar's salad, and caramel sauce cinnamon bread pudding for dessert. They have different activities and groups. They have a movie room, a hair salon, workout facilities, reading groups, and concerts."

"The Bellettini is where you rent every month, and you can leave. There's no commitment. It felt like being in a hotel. They had a really nice lobby and music. I think several people who have gone there liked it. They have one fancy dining room that you have to sign up for if you want to eat there at night. Otherwise, they have a snack place where you can get casual meals. We only saw a one-bedroom place, which was very small. It was in the neighborhood. You could walk to the library or the square. It's walkable. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They have an exercise room. They don't have a pool. They only have valet parking; you can't park your car yourself. It looked like they had a lot of groups. They have transportation. It was a lot of money."

"My mother stayed at Pacific Regent last year for rehab. I didn't get the feeling that it was as clean as it could be, but it was a good facility. The rooms were about average, and the staff seemed knowledgeable. I didn't think she participated in any of the activities, but she did make some friends, and they spent a lot of time talking to her. I think the facility itself was nice. They also have a little garden that they can take the patients, and it has a central area that feels comfortable where the patients can gather. "

"I toured their independent living section of The Watermark at Bellevue, and it's very nice and very high-end. As a matter of fact, up on the top floor, they have a penthouse there for $12,000 a month. The lower floors are cheaper. For people who like city life, it's like living in a big city where you have to pay for parking, and that's not my cup of tea. I want something more rural where I can drive in, drive out, and not have to pay for parking. I'm just more of a suburban type. It was very nice, though. I've been there twice, and their food was excellent. The facilities were very nice because they're new, so everything was perfect."

"We thought everything on it would be checked at the highest level. The person who accompanied us was excellent, personable, and pleasant, and they answered all our questions. They had a good relationship with all the residents and knew their names -- and even their dogs names! It couldn't have been better. We saw five different apartment plans, we had lunch, and it was delightful."

"My mother was in rehab care at Covenant Shores in Mercer Island. It was a very nice, very well-kept, and very friendly community. The rooms were not large, but were pleasant, and they had a garden where the patients can go to. The rooms were situated around a large living area, which had a big screen TV that patients can watch as well as the one in their rooms. They played cards in each other's rooms once in a while. It's got a nice view of Lake Washington, the staff was very friendly, and they have nice facilities. I didn't go in any of their assisted living apartments -- just the rehab care center -- but from the outside, it was very nice. You can take the patients in their wheelchair down to the dock where the lake is. "

"I have toured Cogir of Queen Anne several times. It feels well-run, there were people at the desk, people were out of their units, and the place was friendly. The place was very clean. The staff who gave the tour was excellent, they were very informative, there was no pressure, they show you the unit, and they tell you what the prices are. It's pet-friendly, and I have two kitties. They have an extremely excellent chef. They also have exercise classes and walking classes, and they have a theater as well. They have lovely grounds."

"We have chosen (GenCare Lifestyle) Seattle at Ballard Landmark assisted living for my mom because it was close to me. We've seen it and the staff is good. The place is very nice. They only had so many options open. The food is good. I also know other people who are there, so that's why I know about it."

"My dad moved into Scriber Gardens a couple of weeks ago. We chose it because my mom could stay there too, for an overnight up to a week at a time. His room is private. It's a 1-bedroom unit, so it has a little living area/dining area combined, and then a bedroom and two baths. The dining area is very nice. Right now, they're having a little issue with the food. The food was good when he first got there, but I think the chef has been out for a while, so that's been a struggle. The atmosphere there is so friendly. Everybody says hi and is willing to talk to you. The staff is friendly, but they haven't been attending to his needs like he should be attended to, and I don't know if they're trained for that. They're also having staffing problems there. "
