Independent Living Communities in Bellevue, WA

"The reason I wouldn't go to Covenant Shores was that they charged over $5,000 if you needed nursing assistance. It was almost $5,500 a month, and I couldn't afford that. In the independent living, you buy your little apartment, and then you pay extra number of dollars for all of the facilities, usage, and diner every night. I was looking at a one-bedroom apartment with a fully built-in kitchen. I liked that it was close to Seattle, and I was not afraid of traffic. It was also close to the city where I live right now. They had almost every activity you want. They had a wood shop and a boat dock. They had a nursing facility on site -- almost a mini-hospital. They had their own bus that would take you shopping. It was a beautiful with lots of trees and green lawns with big walks. It was very nice. The food was excellent. Everybody was encouraged to exercise and eat right. Everybody was in good health. "

"Cogir of Kirkland only has assisted living, they don't have memory care. It's a lovely place. They showed me a studio apartment that was quite lovely. The place itself was very nice and the staff was nice, but they couldn't provide what my husband needs. I would like to have a swimming pool and they don't have a swimming pool, but they have everything else. I'd go there myself. The room they showed me was a corner room. There was a bed, a couch, a TV, and a very small kitchen. It's large enough. The dining area was probably 25 steps away. The people that I talked to were charming and wonderful. They were great."

"Peters Creek Retirement looked good. My stepmom has not seen the room yet, but I'm sure she'll like it. There's a view out the window that goes out to a lot of trees. It's kind of a natural wild look in the backyard. I think she'll enjoy that. As far as all the amenities are concerned, they have the same thing. There are choices for different types of alternative meals besides whatever is scheduled. The staff member who helped with the tour was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and caring."

"This is a friendly and talkative community of people from a cross section of cultures and interests. While you can remain in your apartment, it’s quite pleasant going down, sharing stories , and having a bite to eat. On most days, I take both exercise classes, moderate and high level. My other favorite activity is artistic creations where I discovered I can paint.."

"I like Redmond Heights Senior Living's location. I like that you're able to have your own room, and I like the fact that they had activities for the patient to mingle and socialize with their peers. It's close to where we live. The staff that showed me around was very friendly. He took the time with me, and I appreciated that. The building was very clean, and the structure seemed like it was fairly new, maybe two to three years old. It has had some renovations. They had a nice sun porch. The rooms were big. Some of them were a little bit too big, but I thought it was very spacious. You could bring in your own furniture as well as already furnished. I thought that was nice."

"The common / amenity areas were first class with a very caring and personable staff. Activities were very diverse and looked to have something for everyone. The rooms were nicely appointed with most having nice views. "

"I toured the independent living community of Spiritwood at Pine Lake. It's a nice place up there, but it takes forever to get to where I want to be, like my activities. It's half an hour away from everything, even though it's close. I liked it, and it had its perks, but I don't want to live in that location. I went there, introduced myself, and sat in the waiting area, and the staff kinda forgot about me. It's just that the receptionist forgot to tell the salespeople, but they apologized. They had one unique feature. In 2019, they built these cottages. They're on the property, but they're kinda separate. They're all 2-bedroom apartments, which I really like, but you don't get the meals and everything associated with it. You have to pay extra. It's kinda like you're living in these cottages and you're part of the place, but you don't get all the amenities. They do have individual garages, which was neat. It's kind of like a little house, so they don't rely on all the meals, but they can buy into that. I thought that was kinda cool, but just not in the location that would fit my needs."

"I am writing this review as a family member of a Bellwood resident. I love the greeting by the Bellwood staff as I arrive to visit my relative. I am always greeted with a warm and smiling face. Everyone seems to know the names of residents as well as most of the guests. Bellwood has so many events/activities to involve residents in this Life Minded community. Alona, the manager, takes her job very seriously and is involved with this community. She gives her all and makes an effort to know her staff and residents as well as the family members that come to visit. It is a very welcoming place to live as well as visit."

"Aeon senior living is a loving happy home for my Mother. The home is brand new and lovely with an award winning chief and loving staff .She enjoys daily activities and wonderful outings. She has a wonderful extended family and they treat us like family too."

"I toured Solstice Senior Living at Renton. I was really impressed that it was so light. There were a lot of windows and the hallway was well lit. It looked very clean. They had dining. They offer three meals every day. They had a little gym. Their hallways are wide with rails, so if somebody is walking without a walker, they can hold on to the rail to stabilize themselves. They had benches for people to sit and either visit or take a rest. The staff was very friendly."

"My husband and I are residents of MorningStar of Kirkland. The food is very good. It's presented very nicely, and everything is always delicious. We have a wonderful chef. It's very clean. They take excellent care of us. There's a lot of great activities. We have no complaints. They have an exercise facility, so they have exercise classes, and they bring in entertainment. They take us on trips, like on Christmas day, they took us on a tour to see the Christmas lights all over Kirkland and in the area. They take us to concerts downtown. Everything is great. The staff is very helpful, courteous, and considerate. There's no disappointment. It's a great place."

"Empress Senior Living was amazing. It was more expensive, but I seriously considered it. It's just that the rooms were kind of small and a little depressing. They didn't have carpet in them. Also, there's only 17 people there right now, so there's nobody in the memory care. They're still trying to fill up the place. They're really new, so they don't have very many peoplel, which made it not a good fit, but again the people were absolutely fantastic. I really, really, really like them."

"We visited Madison House. We toured the whole facility. It was very, very nice. It's an upper-scale thing. It's very expensive. It was a place that my mom would not be comfortable in because of the expense. It was a quick visit, but everybody was friendly. It was a very beautiful place."

"My wife and I are currently at Cogir of Queen Anne. The aides are very good. There are not too many active people here, and I find that challenging, because I walk around the blocks three or four times every morning, and not a lot of people would do that. I bought them a ping-pong table, but nobody has the sprightliness to play. They also have a really pretty courtyard. The room we have is particularly nice because the guy who had it before us had bookshelves built and a counter added to the kitchen. It has a fireplace; it is nice. We have a beauty salon, an activity room, and a dining room. They cut off a lot of things because of the virus."
