"This is the one my mom chose after looking at a few others. That is the one she likes. It is great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice. She is in a one-bedroom apartment. Everyone seems to have a great time. They all go on their activities together. I've eaten with her a few times, and the food is good. It's been great."

"I toured Farrington Court. It was more like an apartment building. Because of that space that I was looking for, the studio was on the third floor. But it was spacious and it had a full kitchen. Everybody was so nice. I have nothing negative to say about it. They were all wonderful to me and welcoming and wanted me to live there. They had an activity for you every day, throughout the day. If you wanted to go downtown, the bus that they had available was ready there. They had a schedule. Everybody had schedules for going outside of the building to go where they wanted to go. Whatever you wanted to do, they were there to help you to make sure that you had a wonderful experience living there. Because you were paying all that money, then they made sure that you got your money's worth. Farrington Court has been around for quite a while, but it was still a beautiful building. The pool that they had was on the inside. They made sure that I knew everything that was happening there and told me about different things, each aspect of the place itself. They made sure they were very open with me. The food was delicious, too."

"I toured Cadence at Kent-Meridian. I loved everything about it. The rooms were nice. I saw the studio room and the one bedroom. They had the washer/dryer in there. They had a full kitchen if that's what you wanted. The people have been very lovely and friendly, even the residents. They would recommend you to come to live there because they have been there for a while, and so they understand perfectly how it works. The staff was very thorough and gave me a wonderful experience there. You have a nice view of places that you can walk to and you're close to the downtown area of Kent. And so, there are plenty of places for you to go and plenty of activities there."

"We wanted to be very careful when choosing a place for my sister and ultimately she would make the decision when she came to town. We looked at so many Senior Living facilities in the area for her. They all offered something different and prices varied from place to place. She chose Solstice because it was a warm and friendly place and the people that lived there seemed to really like it. My sister has lived there for years now and calls it home. The apartments are nice and the staff is great! The activities are fun and engaging and there is always a little something for everyone. The food is really good too. Carla is in the office and is supportive of the people that live there and her staff, but also takes time if I have questions. She seems to really care about the people that live there and her staff. They all greet me with a smile and friendly hello. I would highly recommend Solstice in Normandy Park."

"Revel Issaquah is a beautiful place and it's brand new. It's got close to 100 rooms. It's a four-story building, and the place I'll move into has never been lived in before. They opened up in April and started signing people up, and there are less than 40 people in there now. The apartment I picked out is a one-bedroom and it's just gorgeous. It's 600 feet, and it's just what I wanted. They have a dog walking area that's fenced in. We had lunch there yesterday and it was delicious. My son-in-law and my daughter both agreed what a nice place it was. I couldn't ask for anything better. They come in for once-a-week cleaning, they do all your sheets, and there's plenty of activities going on. They have this Thursday an opening up special and they're going to have a big party. It's really what I hope to see and hope to get. The staff was very good. They seem to keep the people busy. You get security. You can't get into the building without the person buzzing you in and she's right inside the door. You don't have to worry about people coming in there that shouldn't be coming in. I'm on the third floor and it's within 15 and 20 feet of the elevator, so that's good. The food was delicious. I had spaghetti, my daughter had a salad and my son-in-law had a steak. I couldn't ask for anything more. The staff was really good. They came right away when we got into the restaurant. They have a bar, saltwater swimming pool, and a dog place that's fenced in. When you go down there, you don't have to worry about your pet running away. They had all the activities you could ask for. They were keeping them busy and making different items. They've got a sheet that they put out monthly, and it's got all the activities for each day on it. I got a great parking spot down in the basement, so I don't have to worry about finding a spot outside."

"My mother was in rehab care at Covenant Shores in Mercer Island. It was a very nice, very well-kept, and very friendly community. The rooms were not large, but were pleasant, and they had a garden where the patients can go to. The rooms were situated around a large living area, which had a big screen TV that patients can watch as well as the one in their rooms. They played cards in each other's rooms once in a while. It's got a nice view of Lake Washington, the staff was very friendly, and they have nice facilities. I didn't go in any of their assisted living apartments -- just the rehab care center -- but from the outside, it was very nice. You can take the patients in their wheelchair down to the dock where the lake is. "

"The facilities of El Dorado West were really nice and beautiful. The common rooms were very nice. We talked to some of the tenants that live there, and they liked it very much. The rooms were very small. We were looking at studio apartments that were really the size of my bathroom. It is very small. It was so much money that the only other additional assistance we were interested in setting up was for somebody to help my brother setup his pill and hand it off to him. It was so expensive that we couldn't afford it. We selected it to visit because they had memory care. They interviewed my brother, and they told us that they thought he could begin at least in the assisted living, but the memory care would be available if he needed it at some later point. They would not show us the rooms in memory care. So eventually if that is where he is going to end up, I'm not going to position him anywhere where they won't show us what it looks like. "

"We thought everything on it would be checked at the highest level. The person who accompanied us was excellent, personable, and pleasant, and they answered all our questions. They had a good relationship with all the residents and knew their names -- and even their dogs names! It couldn't have been better. We saw five different apartment plans, we had lunch, and it was delightful."

"Fountain Court has a very nice setting and is very clean. However, they didn't have any vacancies. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The dining area was very nice. Their menu was much better than where we're at now. When we were there, there were people sitting around and reading the paper, and a few of them were watching TV. They did have activities scheduled on their activity calendar. They have something going on seven times a week."

"I toured their independent living section of The Watermark at Bellevue, and it's very nice and very high-end. As a matter of fact, up on the top floor, they have a penthouse there for $12,000 a month. The lower floors are cheaper. For people who like city life, it's like living in a big city where you have to pay for parking, and that's not my cup of tea. I want something more rural where I can drive in, drive out, and not have to pay for parking. I'm just more of a suburban type. It was very nice, though. I've been there twice, and their food was excellent. The facilities were very nice because they're new, so everything was perfect."

"We were able to see Bellewood for my dad. It's very warm, more of a lodge style. The person that we talked to was Carol and she was incredible. We did not have the food, but the food looked good. They had a workout room, activities, facilities, and the grounds were beautiful. They had a movie theater room that was used for lectures, social activities, and movies, and they also had a cafe. It had a much more homey feel than the other place I toured. The staff worked very closely together and all seemed very cohesive and interested in us. The rooms were very nice, the first-floor room, in particular, that had a little deck or a little patio. So you can just be outside or sit outside on the patio."

"Village Concepts of Auburn Brannan Park was accommodating and very pleasant. It was just an overall great experience. They were very welcoming. They were really nice people, both the staff and the residents. They were all smiling. Everybody just seemed happy."

"We toured Spiritwood at Pine Lake. We liked the cottage of the independent living very much, more so than the building. The tour guide was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and very welcoming. He was very good. The building seemed nice. It appeared to be clean. The halls were clean. It felt warm and welcoming. They had a sign welcoming my husband and myself, and I thought that was very nice."

"My mother stayed at Pacific Regent last year for rehab. I didn't get the feeling that it was as clean as it could be, but it was a good facility. The rooms were about average, and the staff seemed knowledgeable. I didn't think she participated in any of the activities, but she did make some friends, and they spent a lot of time talking to her. I think the facility itself was nice. They also have a little garden that they can take the patients, and it has a central area that feels comfortable where the patients can gather. "
