"GenCare Federal Way has friendly staff. It just seemed like it needed an update. I did not care for the rooms. They share a room and there's like a bookcase that divides the two residents. The staff during the tour was friendly and wonderful. They were having a little Halloween celebration at that time. They decorated cards and stuff for the elderly people. They had a nice little cubicle for those who could participate. They also had nice areas where they had built some crafts. There's an area where they had some pumpkins or some flower arrangements. They also have this massive amount of activities every single day that these elderly people can choose from."

"I am in the process of getting into Reserve at Seatac. It is a very nice place. The people are very accommodating. All I have to do is give them one piece of documentation, call them back, and very soon I should become a resident there. It may be a week or two before I move in, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm very excited. I definitely was able to visit the Reserve at Seatac. Reserve at Seatac is mainly for people 55 and older; it is a very nice place. The apartment that I more or less want has everything in there. It has a washer-and-dryer, which is very nice. It has a refrigerator, a range, and a dishwasher, which is an added plus because that is what I wanted. They have a terrace, additional storage, and parking for their residents. They allow maybe one or two pets there, but of course you have to pay a pet fee. It is great because my cat can also be there with me; I'm really quite happy. Their staff has been very accommodating. They keep in contact with me by phone and by email. The place looks very nice, is very clean, and accommodating. I understand they have security, and that's very good, too."

"I toured Solstice Senior Living at Renton. I was really impressed that it was so light. There were a lot of windows and the hallway was well lit. It looked very clean. They had dining. They offer three meals every day. They had a little gym. Their hallways are wide with rails, so if somebody is walking without a walker, they can hold on to the rail to stabilize themselves. They had benches for people to sit and either visit or take a rest. The staff was very friendly."

"Brookdale Foundation House was the first community I've toured, so I didn't know what to expect. It's a nice facility and everything. I just think that it's too far away. The traffic conditions to get there for me, particularly during the busy times of the day, would be an issue for me. If I was closer, I would certainly consider it more. I think they have a pretty good program for their dementia patients as far as stimulating them, their minds, and stuff and keeping them active. It's very clean, very orderly, spacious for people to get around on their own in the memory care unit and things that just kind of help them trigger their brain activity and stuff. People seemed to be nice there. I visited the memory care units because my husband has dementia so that would be important to me. They do arts and crafts and things like I think most of them do. They also have these things on the walls that are kind of touchpoints for those that have dementia. Like they have a desk that's out there with boxes where you can put envelopes and things and move things around and little things on the wall that you can turn like doorknobs or just those kinds of tactile kinds of things that might cue thoughts within them and kind of stimulate them a little bit. I don't know how to describe it. You almost have to watch it. They have a garden there where they can get out and walk around and do different kinds of activities for them. Some can do cooking classes and some do other things. The staff just showed me around and explained how they did things for the residents and what the activities were in their own little bedrooms or how they could interact with other people. They had their own area that they were pretty much free to roam in if they wanted to be with people, they had social areas for that. They had a big kitchen cafeteria area where they could go and do activities there if they wanted to."

"Mill Ridge Village is one of the communities that I toured. I liked the way that it was set up, the cleanliness, the convenience, and that it has a lot more storage. I just felt more comfortable in it. To me, it seemed like it had a little home-like atmosphere. The place is just a couple of blocks away from shopping. It's got most of the shopping amenities. We don't have a department store, but we have just about everything like the grocery store, hardware store, and eye and nose doctors. The staff was courteous and helpful. They seemed to be paying attention to what the clients needed and wanted. They have a bus that could take you on field trips, and they do a lot of in-house stuff too. The dining area was pleasant. I had a good meal there, and chatted with a couple of the other residents that were relatively new, that were happy with the move and the facility. The food was well prepared and looked appealing. It tasted good."

"The Meridian at Stone Creek was very nice, new, and looked good. They had really nice facilities, which seemed ideal for my mother. The staff was very nice. We were shown several rooms, and one of them had a bigger kitchen and was bigger than the other. It looked like a great place to live. It was beautiful ad had a view and everything."

"We toured Solstice Senior Living at Normandy. It's independent, but they have physical therapy and things like that available on the premises. I was very impressed with the facilities."

"This is a friendly and talkative community of people from a cross section of cultures and interests. While you can remain in your apartment, it’s quite pleasant going down, sharing stories , and having a bite to eat. On most days, I take both exercise classes, moderate and high level. My other favorite activity is artistic creations where I discovered I can paint.."

"Beautiful like-new facility. High ceilings make the rooms seem bigger. Apartments have lovely full kitchens and lots of storage space. Pool and spa/salon areas are immaculate and the sun room and outdoor areas inviting."

"I went to El Dorado West. It was very lovely, I loved it, and it was a beautiful place. The staff was gracious, welcoming, and very informative. The gal that helped me, Jill, was just wonderful. It was great, and I think we're going to move forward with securing a room there. It's very clean, well maintained, the room was clean, and I was very impressed."

"I am writing this review as a family member of a Bellwood resident. I love the greeting by the Bellwood staff as I arrive to visit my relative. I am always greeted with a warm and smiling face. Everyone seems to know the names of residents as well as most of the guests. Bellwood has so many events/activities to involve residents in this Life Minded community. Alona, the manager, takes her job very seriously and is involved with this community. She gives her all and makes an effort to know her staff and residents as well as the family members that come to visit. It is a very welcoming place to live as well as visit."

"I toured the independent living community of Spiritwood at Pine Lake. It's a nice place up there, but it takes forever to get to where I want to be, like my activities. It's half an hour away from everything, even though it's close. I liked it, and it had its perks, but I don't want to live in that location. I went there, introduced myself, and sat in the waiting area, and the staff kinda forgot about me. It's just that the receptionist forgot to tell the salespeople, but they apologized. They had one unique feature. In 2019, they built these cottages. They're on the property, but they're kinda separate. They're all 2-bedroom apartments, which I really like, but you don't get the meals and everything associated with it. You have to pay extra. It's kinda like you're living in these cottages and you're part of the place, but you don't get all the amenities. They do have individual garages, which was neat. It's kind of like a little house, so they don't rely on all the meals, but they can buy into that. I thought that was kinda cool, but just not in the location that would fit my needs."
