I am/was a resident of this facility

I've never done a review before but this apartment complex needs one very badly and hope it will be read and if there is love and respect for yourself and your love ones please use good judgement and go somewhere else. Save yourself from loneliness, depression and most of all unhappiness. We barely made it to a year without losing our sanity when we were blessed to get out as fast as we can to a remolded apartment in Maple Valley with trees close to town and yup better hemisphere and not enclosed in a elevator. On ground floor which is working great even if your disabled and don't have to depend on elevator or being controlled, demanded, order like a drill sergeant from residents especially on the 5th floor terrible. Guy named Larry and his wife the commander of chief  you are not to touch anything on 5th floor even the patio, for they own it and control it they have completely took over with plants and barbecues stored in a dirty black bag, dirty carts full of pots and potting dirt look like a back yard tool shed sad. Other neighbor took part of patio also with tomato plants which they open door to front room so they get water to water plants let in bugs and bee's so then you have to fight the bugs with raid to keep from coming in your apartment. You defiantly not allowed at all using any of the tables in front room for Larry fills them up with puzzles so you can't and have to ask permission if you can use one for guest which my family said no way to dreary. Need to mention Larry is very aggressive and combative it scares you there is air conditioning and air control if it gets a chance it will adjust in all the amenities but this guy messes it up by playing with the thermostat so cold just freezing where you see your breath turn it down to 68 or lower and opens all the windows on every floor even the 5th floor all type of weather so cold no one can sit read a book or visit. Management if there is ever one will not reprimand, they say they will but, in a year, there Larry and his wife still have full reign of the hole complex for they are the judge and jury they run the residents and the hole building even the managers or whoever. Most hardest living we ever experienced no color or happiness feeling of death a place to walk around with a time clock waiting for the end even some residents are counting the minutes. Place so old and dark like a dome nothing works tv's no motes, vcr no motes, paper backs so old and dirty fall apart. Please use good judgement go somewhere else to be happy in your remaining years this is not the place for sure we got charge 400.00 from moving out for repainting and clean it was filthy toilet was black sink all scared and dirty appliances my husband fixed and circle like paint guns shooting at wall's with big circle's  we think was mold seeping threw for my husband was coughing all the time  but that's fine were out and happy paid the 400.00. We think the place is a tax write off for it isn't for living. Good luck and god bless to your happy ending.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm a resident of Covington Place Senior Apartments. I've been here for 12 years now. I have decided to stay here because the location is perfect for me despite the fact this place has the worst management you've ever seen. The management is like crazy, but they've got a new person in here and we hope she can straighten things out. The location is perfect. This is marvelous. I've had some problems. They don't like me. I think it's because I'm in a wheelchair. They told me I needed to be in an assisted living or something. I don't want to go to assisted living. I'm going to stay here. I do OK. Yes, I'm in a wheelchair, but I can deal with it. My room is small, but it's big enough for me. I have a kitchen, a living room, and a single bedroom, so it's a perfect size for me because it's just me. I interact with the staff as little as possible. What I like is the location. I'm four blocks from my doctor, I'm a couple of blocks from Fred Meyer, and on the way to the doctor's, there's Walmart, Costco is up on the hill, and I can get to all these places in my wheelchair. The location is what I like. There is no food. They don't have food. I have to do my own food, which is OK because Safeway is just across the street from Fred Meyer. I don't participate in the activities here, but they have bingo on Tuesday nights, and they have some things that I don't deal with. On the fifth floor, there is a patio. It's a nice patio. I like to go up there and have my dinner set up there and eat dinner outside. It's nice. Maintenance and upkeep are getting better. It was really bad for a while, but it's getting a lot better. I had a problem with the ceiling light in my entryway that was kept shorting out, and they just kept replacing the bulbs. They replaced the bulbs and two days later, they were short again. They got a new maintenance man who replaced it and said that the socket was casuing the problem, so he put in a new socket. I could no longer get rid of my garbage on the first floor, which is where I live, I have to take my garbage up to the second floor to get rid of my garbage, and that annoys me. As far as the upkeep of the common areas, they're fine. They vacuum the carpets and do that kind of stuff there. As far as my apartment goes, it's me taking care of what's here, so they don't have anything to do with my maintenance in my apartment. Value for money is about average.

I visited this facility

Covington Place was really nice, but it was too far away. It was in a nice, quiet area. The staff was very helpful and energetic. The rooms were fine. They did have a group cooking night and group get-togethers.

I visited this facility

Covington place was for people 55 and older. The rooms were nice. The manager was pleasant, and she showed us around. It was somewhat newer, nice, and maintained well. The people that lived there were friendly. I was hoping to find something that had air-conditioning, and there were two floors on the front side that had air-conditioning. Those apartments were sought after, and it was a little bit harder to get one. That was my only drawback because the summer here was getting warmer. The other one was that it was not a place that provided meals. I asked them if they had anyone there over the weekend, and they do not keep anyone over the weekend. They didn't even say that the maintenance person was there on site over the weekend, which I thought was not the best arrangement for some of the seniors that I saw walking around in their walkers and wheel chairs. One of the advantages was that it was right on the main street in Covington, and it was very easy to get to the department stores. They were all there -- and some of them were right within walking distance -- and there were restaurants. It was right off the freeway that goes through there. So, it had its pluses.
