Independent Living Communities in Issaquah, WA

"I will be moving into Solista Bellevue by Cogir. What I didn't like was that they didn't have a full refrigerator and a kitchen, and I was looking for a place to make my own food. What I liked about it was that all the meals are included in your rent. The staff greeted us very nicely and showed us exactly what we wanted to see, and helped us with the payment and all the other steps that go along with it. She was very good. They have a month-to-month, and I haven't found my forever home yet, so it's just a place for me to live while I find a place. I don't go to the beauty parlor very much, but I might start. It is in Bellevue, and that was one of the things that I liked. They have a little bar for your snacks, coffee, and stuff, that I can go get. They had a pool there, and they let it go. I wanted a pool very badly, but they just didn't have it. When we were looking at the different apartments, I smelled some not very good smells, and I think they could improve on that."

"I found Solstice Senior Living at Renton very pleasant. The tour went very well. It is a very comfortable facility. My only problem with it is it's just in the wrong location, otherwise, I would have very likely selected it. The rooms were of a nice size. They were bright. I liked them very much. We walked past the workout or gym area, the beauty salon, and through the dining room. The staff were very pleasant and very helpful."

"Overlake Terrace was phenomenal. The staff and the director were phenomenal. I was high praises for that place. It was so well run and super clean. The amenities were top-notch. They had so much going on in that place. That was my number one pick for my parents. It was close to all the doctors. There are hospitals right there. The only reason we did not choose them was the room was not big enough. They had two bedrooms and one bath, but it was too pricy. When my mom and dad need the memory care or my mom needs it, we probably will move over to Overlake. It's just a beautiful, perfect place for anybody to live there. They had a gorgeous dining room. They had a nice exercise facility and a beautiful courtyard. I liked it because even if you were independent there, the only way out of there was through the front door. Everybody could, from their rooms, go downstairs and go out to the courtyard. For me, safety was there. There weren't any doors that my mom could've gotten out the back, that we may not know about, other than the courtyard. My dad loves to grow vegetables and they had a really big place where they can plant their vegetables. They had a lot of activities and they would go on tours quite often. I didn't see one thing wrong with it. It was very, very clean. The staff was well-dressed and attentive. I met quite a few of them because we went back more than once and the residents were just very happy. They stood and talked with us for quite a while, telling us how nice it was and how they were well cared for, and how they could move from a large room to a small room at no extra cost. The executive director worked with us in every way, trying to help us to get into that place. I just can't say enough for him. He was caring. He drove out to my folks and gave my dad a hot meal and told him that he was thinking of them and that if they ever wanted to reside there, he would work something out for them. I was blown away by him. They have parking there and the laundry facilities were nice. They had a memory care, but I didn't get to see it."

"We saw Village Concepts of Fairwood and they have facilities supporting all levels of care. They're very organized, the building is brand-new so everything is spotless and gorgeous. The layout of the facility was amazingly nice because it's new so they're targeting it more for gathering areas. The staff who assisted us during the tour was April. She was extremely knowledgeable, she was very accommodating, very quick to get us in there and she did a great job. They had a nice dining room. We've observed that they were doing a blood-pressure check on the day when we were there. They have a pool room, a game room, a reading room, and different types of clubs that you can join. The rooms were spectacular. They were immaculate, and because the layout was so nice, you didn't realize you were in such a small space, square-footage-wise."

"I toured their independent living section of The Watermark at Bellevue, and it's very nice and very high-end. As a matter of fact, up on the top floor, they have a penthouse there for $12,000 a month. The lower floors are cheaper. For people who like city life, it's like living in a big city where you have to pay for parking, and that's not my cup of tea. I want something more rural where I can drive in, drive out, and not have to pay for parking. I'm just more of a suburban type. It was very nice, though. I've been there twice, and their food was excellent. The facilities were very nice because they're new, so everything was perfect."

"I moved into The Gardens At Town Square. It's lovely. They go from independent to assisted living, to memory care. Everything is spotlessly clean and looked after well. Everybody's very, very, very pleasant. They check on you every morning to make sure you're okay even if I'm in independent living, and the food is great. So everything is good. I haven't got anything to complain about. The staff has been excellent, very, very helpful. It has worked out very, very well. They've got so many things. They've got everything going. There's bridge. I went line dancing yesterday as well, and there were people with walkers. It was low impact, and it was great. There's always something going on, and it's on the elevator to let them know. They have a kitchen, they have a microwave and a stove. It's a lovely kitchen. They have a fridge. I overlook a courtyard. It's lovely. If they can afford it, they shouldn't miss it, because it's extremely nice."

"My Mom lived here just before she passed away. She loved the place. I took her to 4 or 5 in the area and the minute she walked into the community lobby, she was greeted by just about everyone and we found the room she wanted right away but had to wait a few weeks to get into it. As we were walking out, she looked at me and said "this is the place". She spent the last few years she had left before she passed way at 92. It was the best thing for me that she had the happiest moment of her life there. When she went to the hospital and was told she couldn't come back because she needed hospice care, she lost all her joy that she couldn't return and she passed away just a few months after she wasn't able to recover enough to come back. I was so happy that we were able to be at a place she loved and enjoyed and made her new friends. It wasn't as convenient for me in location than the other places I took her to, but it was more important for me for her to be happy the last days of her life. "

"My wife moved into Pacific Regent Bellevue. They did fine. It was a very nice place, not cheap, but nice. The staff was great."

"We saw The Bellettini. They were apartments basically. They were clean and spacious. The people were friendly and nice. The residents looked happy. It was very good. "

"I toured The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. They're friendly, clean, lively, and it would have been a good fit. It offered everything my uncle needed. The staff is informative and friendly. They have a gym, walking trail, outings, and gatherings. They were also in a nice neighborhood."

"We selected Aljoya for walkability of area (By Village), light rail out back gate, room can be made assisted living therefore not requiring move, payment plan, interesting residents, quality food, friendly staff., size units, garden and activities provided. It is easy to drive to the area because of location. If you are looking in the Seattle area, Aljoya is a great benchmark for other facilities. Refundable deposit puts you on waiting list and you move up to when the unit you want is available, if turn down, you remain at top."

"I would love to be here. The people felt really at home. They had an elevator, and it's secure. Everything was right there. You don't have to worry about taking out your garbage. There were places in the hallway where you open the door and put them down the chute. You could buy stuff from the vending machines. It was too new to improve on anything -- maybe the food. "

"Peters Creek Retirement Assisted Living & Memory Care was well located. It had all the things you need as far as food service and medications. It was clean. The staff during the tour was very helpful, and she was a problem solver. Any issues that my father-in-law had, she would have taken care of."
