My uncle has moved into Mill Ridge Village. The location and the staff are what made us choose this community. The staff members are super helpful, caring, and accommodating. My uncle's apartment is a small studio with lots of storage. The place is super clean. They have a nice courtyard, which is secured. There's a lot of activities. They have a game room and a movie-TV room. So far, so good.

Mill Ridge Village is one of the communities that I toured. I liked the way that it was set up, the cleanliness, the convenience, and that it has a lot more storage. I just felt more comfortable in it. To me, it seemed like it had a little home-like atmosphere. The place is just a couple of blocks away from shopping. It's got most of the shopping amenities. We don't have a department store, but we have just about everything like the grocery store, hardware store, and eye and nose doctors. The staff was courteous and helpful. They seemed to be paying attention to what the clients needed and wanted. They have a bus that could take you on field trips, and they do a lot of in-house stuff too. The dining area was pleasant. I had a good meal there, and chatted with a couple of the other residents that were relatively new, that were happy with the move and the facility. The food was well prepared and looked appealing. It tasted good.

I went to Mill Ridge Village. Everything was very nice, I just didn't feel comfortable about it. It was more of a gut feeling. The staff was great. I toured both the studio and one-bedroom, and they were very nice. They all have their own shower, and a little kitchenette, but you have to bring your own microwave. They have a full calendar of different things they were planning on doing, they offered transportation on a ten-mile radius for medical appointments, and they would do shopping tours once a week.

My mother lived here for over 3 years, she now has mild dementia, so I, her daughter,am writing this review. My mom moved in because she needed assist with her medications and had several falls at home. She was ambulatory and needed minimal care. The first two years were good, I was very pleased with her care and felt she was safe. Her health declined and she needed more assistance , so of course her care costs improved dramatically, by the end of her stay(3 years) her total costs TRIPLED ! Because Mill Ridge is owned by a corporation it is all about profits. Mill Ridge operates on a rigid system , so mom had to bathe, eat, walk , use the bathroom on Mill Ridge’s schedule. Mom is 84 and had worked since she was 15 , she often protested when told she must shower “ now” or do something else she didn’t want to do. I received frequent calls informing me that mom “ wouldn’t shower today” etc. If mom doesn’t shower that day , they can’t charge her, so they loose money. Mom became incontinent , using depends, and often refused to get up at night to go to the bathroom, resulting in her linen and her being soaked by morning. Mill Ridge labeled her VIOLENT after mom was harassed several times to get up she cursed and took a swing at staff( did not hit) her. My mom had never been violent in her life. Mom required hospitalization for a GI bleed and required stay at a rehab facility. Mill Ridge told us she could not return. Both my mom and I cried when I told her she couldn’t return home to Mill Ridge. Shortly afterwards mom was diagnosed with dementia. I had less than two weeks to find a place for mom. I found an Adult Family Home and Mom is receiving excellent care for the same price . If you or your loved one need minimal care,Mill Ridge is fine. If you require more help Mill Ridge is not the place for you. I must say most of mom’s caregivers at Mill Ridge were excellent, the problem is with administration and the corporation - profit profit profit. I will never forget how abruptly and rudely Mill Ridge kicked my mother out of her home.

Mill Ridge Village in Milton is a nice facility. You can walk to a grocery store from there. It's close to a strip mall where they have drug stores, grocery stores and you can just walk over. Location-wise, for being able to get out of the shop a little bit, it's quite convenient. The staff was also very nice. They were very enthusiastic and everybody we saw was very cordial. They have good staff, I think. The building was fairly large and it's kind of like a big circle with a courtyard in the center and the dining room was adjacent to the courtyard. It was quite nice. You go into a room with big windows and there is a courtyard with flowers and stuff so this is very pleasant. We didn't get to eat their food. We were there first thing in the morning, so there was no food being offered. The setting was quite nice though. One thing that was positive about it is that you're fairly close to many small towns. You can go to Puyallup, you can go to Tacoma, or you can get on the freeway to go up further north so location-wise, it's good. I still drive and we do a lot in the car so I like the location.

For my dad, Mill Ridge Village wasn't a good fit because they only had a studio available. It's more of a city setting versus a suburban setting, so it wasn't the right fit for him. It's normal, clean, and a little bit older. The other place we toured has some younger residents that will show newer residents around and whatnot. The residents at Miller Ridge were kind of to themselves, but the staff was super informative and got us in touch with other places, too. Because of the location, we don't want to waste their time and it just was not the best fit for my dad. We didn't spend too much time there. They had an outdoor area, and it was pretty easy to navigate. We talked to them for a little while in the front office area, but once we found out the price range, what they offered, and the location, we said that we would think about it. It would be a right fit for somebody else. It's clean and it's available, but it's a bit smaller. It's not somewhere that we would choose to go to, but somebody else could. They had quite a bit of feature, and the breakfast smelled good.

I visited some church members who lived at Village Concepts of Milton (Mill Ridge Village). They have not allowed people in, so it's been over a year ago that I visited. I think it's a wonderful place. Every time I was there, it's very, very clean. I had opportunities to be in the dining room, and people were sitting at their assigned tables and waiting to get their meals. Both couples that I know there said there's plenty of food and it's good, and they just loved it. The staff all seemed very caring, and the needs of the residents were utmost. They're right at the top. A few years ago, if they had a tea there, my friend was able to invite so many people and the food was really good. Both the exterior and the interior were well taken care of. I know they've got a bus to take residents shopping or if they wanna go to the store. I think they're all expensive, but I know you've got to have quite a bit of money to live there even in one of their studios. It's just not your average person off the street can afford to live there.

Mill Ridge Village is wonderful. I've adopted the staff and residents into my life as my family. The food is good. They usually have two main courses for each dinner. They have everything we want to be involved in. They have a shuttle that takes us to our doctors' appointments, grocery store, and shopping once a week. Everything you need to have done is an additional cost.

My mother was at Mill Ridge Village, which is close to where I live. The cleanliness of the facility was outstanding. The staff were all attentive, friendly and wonderful. They had different activities in the facility to keep the residents busy. I did not regret having my mother live there.
