"I visited this facility on several occasions to see my God-Mother. She has been a resident here for three years now and I most recently visited her in July of 2012. I love this facility for many reasons. It is in great shape, it is well kept, and very homey feeling. The staff is kind and helpful and most of all they know what they are doing. As a visitor I have always had a great experience with the friendly staff and the clean facility. The food is great, the rooms are spacious and they have a lot of activities for the residents. They also make sure that they provide great outings. The grounds are pretty and well maintained and she loves it here. I would highly recommend this facility if you are looking in this area for a place for yourself or for a loved one. "

"My dad was a past resident of Ballard Landmark. It's excellent. It's like being on a cruise ship. It's very very clean. The restaurant was my dad's favorite because he could get 2 to 3 meals a day. And they had a menu. It wasn't just a set menu. He could choose what he wanted to eat. The staff was excellent. They were great. They have a pool, a gym, and a beauty salon. They have a shuttle that will take you on your errands. They have movie nights. They'd have a little meet and greet. They had a guys' club that would meet for breakfast. There were a lot of committees. So, he was kept pretty busy. The facility was within walking distance of his drugstore and the place where he likes to go get french fries. So he liked the location."

"Mom just moved to Empress Senior Living at Laurelhurst Assisted Living and Memory Care. It's a facility that was just built a few years ago, and their staff is wonderful. I spent many, many days there with my mom. They are very professional and good. The food was very good, too. In memory care, there are a lot of people who are not very high-functioning, so they don't do a whole lot of activities, but the value for the money is pretty good. It costs $6,600 a month to be in that facility, and then there are additional costs on top of that, but I think for what I looked at all over, their cost was about the same as others. I was so lucky to find that place. They had space available, and they were able to get me in. It wasn't out of reach cost for me."

"University House is at the upper end of retirement homes, they only offer 27 meals a month, and the rest of it is on your own. There is a small garden. The staff was peasant and upscale. They have various lectures going on and musical things. The food was standard. "

"I visited the assisted living facility of North Creek by Bonaventure. What I really liked about it was that the residents could start as independent living, and as they age and require more and more care, they can move them within the same facility to areas that provide more care and are, for their safety, more restrictive. When they have community events within the facility, though, they could bring those people back out, and they can interact with the people that they've gotten to know over the years that they've spent there. The staff there seems to really enjoy their work and care for the people who live there. They also allow people the freedom that they can handle within their faculties. As the people age, they work with the families and move them into other areas of the facility that are more appropriate to them. The director I met spends a lot of time there, off the clock, helping with gardening and other things, which says a lot. She's not there to just punch clocks. She's actually there because she cares about people. Some of the people there become friends, and it makes it much more of a community rather than just some place to go stick your elderly parents in and have somebody else take care of them. I didn't see any issues that would lead me to believe that they weren't taking care of the facility or keeping up on maintenance."

"Ascent Adult Family Home LLC was clean. They had a locked closet that you had to have a code to get into for the medications. The lady showed me around and she was just very nice and friendly. They were going to be getting the room ready (it wasn't ready yet) for my sister. They have to do an assessment first, so she would work with me on my sister. It's a home. From the second floor, getting to the yard in the back would be difficult for the people, but they've got a deck in the summer where people can go out onto and they have two of them. One had raised beds around the whole perimeter so that people could do gardening in it. It was comfortable-looking and it just seemed very nice. The lady I met was the owner. She lived downstairs. She was very personable and caring. They just didn't have a lot of parking, because it's in a neighborhood. So, their parking was not very good to go and visit."

"I toured MorningStar of Kirkland. It was one of my top ones. I just have a nice feeling. I was shocked when I went there. The location is right there in Totem Lake, and it's just like, wow. I didn't even know it was there. They have a saltwater pool. Upon entering is a nice little bistro. They invited me to one of their functions, so I went to Aloha Days. It's nice, and I got along well with one of the girls I had a tour with. It was a comfortable place. Everybody was super nice at the exercise facility. I went by myself, and then I told my sister about it. We both just went to check it out. I just happened to call her, and said that I was bringing my sister to show her. She was off-site, but she's coming back from lunch. So, my sister was able to meet her, and we did another little tour. My sister says I know why you like this place. It was just a nice feeling. I felt at home."

"It's a very lovely place with nice views, & convenient to get to. It features a very nice Arts & Entertainment program, with musicians and entertainers of all kinds. "

"The Creekside was very good, modern, up to date, and on our shortlist of places for my mom. They're working toward assisted living. The rooms sizes were good, and the updates were fresh and very clean. The kitchen cabinets and counters were nicely done. They had a washer and dryer in the units. We ate lunch there, and the food was good and fresh. The location was good and within walking distance to the downtown area. The value was comparable to others. "

"We are so grateful for Cogir Kirkland! My mom has lived there for 3 months, and it's such a relief to know she is safe and well cared for. The community is only a year old--it's beautiful, light, and well-maintained, plus the rooms are very large. And surprisingly, the food is great! But the very best part is the staff! They are very skilled and professional, while also being super kind and caring. My mom is at the end of life, and can be "difficult" on top of it. Each staff member works extra hard to ensure she is heard; that she has everything she needs; and that she is comfortable and happy. Cogir Kirkland has a new General Manager that has been successful in implementing new systems and processes, and in building a strong and committed team. We are so happy to have them as part of our family!"

"My relative is in Cogir of Queen Anne. The food is wonderful. It's a very nice atmosphere. However, as their agents, we had to keep track of their care, but their staff has been accessible. The rooms are very nice. The chef has a very nice menu and there are choices every day. The food is delicious. They have exercises, lectures, music, and art activities. It's expensive."

"I visited Cogir of Mill Creek, they're very nice people and it looked like a very nice facility. The staff knew their subjects very well and showed us around, without wasting a lot of time walking through the whole place. The apartment we looked at was nice. Moving from our house after so many years, anything like that seems small with not much storage, but the room was nice. Their workout facilities, pool, and library all looked very nice. As far as we could tell, the atmosphere looked nice and the people were friendly. The facilities looked very clean and very nice."

"My mother has moved into MorningStar of Silver Lake. They're very friendly. The service is fantastic. The food is excellent. The accommodations are superb. She likes it very much. The food quality is very good. They have Chicken Alfredo, beef tacos, tilapia, and different fish. It's a varied menu. It's very, very good and people have lots to choose from. They have a husky tailgate, happy hour, and a Veterans program coming up this Saturday honoring Veterans. They have live music there. It's a very lovely facility. They have movies twice a day, and they have activities going on every day. They have exercises going on every day."
