"Ashley Pointe was in a grander scale. It had a lot more cottages. Everything was top grade. Their interior was all updated. It was a lot bigger. They had certain rooms for activities. They have a crafts room and garden. Every week their menu changes, but there was always a steady one that people could choose from. The residents could add what they would like. "

"Grandview Village was a nice facility. The staff and some of the residents that I was able to meet were also very nice. The people that gave the tour were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They had a nice central common area, a nice dining facility, and a beautiful outdoor courtyard that the residents could use. The room sizes were average compared to the other facilities that I toured. They offered a studio and one-bedrooms, and both models have mini stoves so the residents can cook if they want to. The refrigerators that they supply, though, were very small. They're smaller than what you'd find in a hotel room. There's not really enough room to put a whole lot in. The cabinetry and the cupboards were not much. What they have was pretty cute and it kind of reminds me of being in a college dormitory, but one of the residents nvited us into her room and despite the fact that I couldn't stand the cabinets, she had it decorated very nicely and it looked homey and nice."

"Edmonds Landing is a small community. There's assisted living and independent living together in one place, which I really liked. It's not just a bunch of assisted living people together or independent living together, but they live as one community. They have a lot of really nice outdoor spaces, and their dining room is beautiful. My mom's not there yet, but they've been very conscientious about gathering all of the information needed to care for her and meet all of her needs. They communicated with her doctor and spoke directly to her when we visited on Wednesday to find out exactly what she wanted and what she was expecting. The apartments are very nice. All of them are very, very clean. They have all have new carpet and new paint. My mom's moving into a one-bedroom, and it's very nice and very spacious. She's in a wheelchair about 80 percent of the time. It's very nice too that she can get around in her apartment in her wheelchair. There are beautiful gardens with tables and seating for people to go out, sit, and enjoy the different areas. The gardens and the plants are beautiful and look like they really keep up the gardens. They are landscaped very nicely. My mom has a really nice view of the garden and a pretty pink magnolia tree out of her bedroom window. It's just really pretty. Everybody that we've met has been wonderful."

"Windsor is a very up-to-date, very comfortable, and well-kept place. Everything is beautiful. It is very homey. There is something going on for the people around. They showed me a room. It wasn't occupied but it was totally furnished. It had a bedroom, a kitchen and a restroom. It was just perfect. Dining was all family-style but at the same time everything was served to you. The waiters were like in a very prestigious restaurant. They were all very courteous and very fast. Food was great."

"I'm a resident at Kenmore Senior Living. It's a very nice place to live. The staff members are very caring and attentive. My apartment is comparable. It has all the amenities. I have been here for almost nine years. They have a movie theater, a library, an exercise room, a dining room, nice hallways to walk in and exercise, and a nice courtyard. The chef does an outstanding job with the food."

"We liked Brookdale Monroe, but it was more than we can afford. They were very nice people who seemed like they had a nice place in there. They gave us a tour and were very nice and personable. The room was empty, but it was clean and had necessities, like a refrigerator. They walked us through the dining area, which looked nice and clean, and the people there said the food was very good. "

"Riverside East was nice. It was smaller, and the rooms were smaller. Everything was smaller. They seemed to have a meeting room, they do have some transportation, and they seem to have basically the same amenities. Part of the problem was that it was a little darker. It was not as bright as the other places that we were looking at, and that was a concern to us. But other than that, the people seemed friendly. It was just a much smaller group of people. A nurse was available most of the time, so that was interesting. "

"I had my keys and was ready to move in to The Creekside in Woodinville, but I had a stroke a week earlier, and I ended up going to the hospital instead. It was a smaller community, which I liked because I came from a small community in Idaho. It had a lot of trees, and to the back of it was a mall, but it wasn't where you looked right out on it. It had a corner unit also that was available. It had washer and dryer in each apartment, and I really need that, which was one of the things that made me choose them. The staff were helpful and just very good people to work with. I talked to a lot of the residents there, and they really seemed to enjoy the lifestyle there and the fact that they were within walking distance from a mall and a lot of places to go eat and a lot of fun things to do in the area. Another factor was in talking to the people there, they seemed to have a little younger attitude than the folks at the other place. They had different parties where they dressed up and had fun together. There were two different buildings. The one building that I had chosen was the one where they had their meals together at set times instead of like in the second building where you could eat anytime between 7:00 in the morning and 7:00 in the evening. The two buildings were close by, and they each had a little bit of a different personality, but they all seemed to be very energetic and happy with their lives. There were people working on puzzles, and their chef was just outstanding. I enjoyed the whole thing there at Woodinville. "

"We looked at two places, and they were both the best prices, and then we ended up going with Madison House because it's closer to me. It's only like 15 minutes away from where I live, so it's really easy for me to go over and visit and still bring my father to appointments and stuff. Their assisted and independent are mixed. My father is currently in independent living, and we will probably be switching him over to assisted living in the next year. Marnie was the gal who showed us around, and she's an absolute delight. She was super informative, super friendly, had really great answers, and really cared about finding me and my dad a good place to live, even if it wasn't with Madison House. She was very invested in finding us a good place. Their menu specials rotate every day. There are a lot of fun specials from different kinds of cuisine. One day it was a Greek salad, and another day it was a cheeseburger. It's a daily special for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They've got their rotational menu that I've also eaten off of, and it was really good. They've got a good set menu and a good variety for their daily specials that I appreciate. My dad liked that it has an open dining room. It's like 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. You can just come get food whenever."

"I toured MorningStar of Kirkland. It's a nice facility. The people are very nice, social, and friendly. There seems to be a lot of active seniors, so I thought that would be a good place for my parents. They share meals and play bingo and games. There are people in the gym doing some exercises. I tried their food, and I thought it was good."

"Ida Culver was very good. The staff was confident, friendly, and knowledgeable. We had lunch there, and the food was good. The amenities were fantastic. We liked the open layout. "

"Gencare Lifestyle at Granite Falls was very nice. The staff answered all of my questions that I had at the time. She was very respectful and listened to people who had older parents. The rooms were very nice. It was one bedroom. The staff showed me a studio. For the price point, they were very nice. They had a nice dining room. They were doing activities while I was there. They got the residents up and moving, which was nice. They weren't just sitting around. I liked that they had a physical therapist. The facility is a little on the older side, but that's understandable."
