"I visited the memory care facility of Brookdale Alderwood in Lynnwood. I don't know if there's anything that they could improve on that I'm aware of at this time. Everything I saw was clean and well- maintained. They are for very advanced Dementia, Alzheimer's, and people who require 24/7 monitoring. When I talked to the manager or the director, we had a good and frank conversation about the condition of my parents and whether she thought they would be a good fit for them or not. She recommended that my parents are still pretty independent and they're still able to do stuff, so she didn't think they would be a good fit for a full-on memory care establishment at this time, which is way too restrictive. They're not having trouble paying the bills, cooking, cleaning, and still taking care of their home. To take them from that environment would feel like putting somebody in jail, almost."

"I chose GenCare Lynwood at Scriber Gardens because it was very affordable and seemed like a good place to be. I've been here for about two months now. The food is excellent and I'm very happy with that. The staff has been very accommodating. I recently moved from an original room to a better one and it's got everything I could possibly ask for as far as the places to live. "

"I went to Cogir of Edmonds Assisted Living & Memory Care. The facility was very nice. We didn't partake in the food, but it smelled fantastic. We saw the menus they have for their everyday meals, and they all had special meals if you needed them. I'm diabetic, so she said, "Oh, well, we can accommodate you. Sure. All you have to do when you come in is tell us what you want and you've got it." The staff was terrific. They were all friendly and they showed us around. They kept asking us questions about what I needed. They said they can accommodate me. It was just wonderful. I love the facility."

"Sunrise of Edmonds was very nice and very clean. I had a very good feeling overall about the place. Wendy was very professional and very thorough in her tour and information about the facility. The studio was nice but small. They only had those available at the time, but they also had one and two bedrooms. They talked a lot about the outings that they take their vans to. They had a lot of field trips. They also had different classes available in-house. So, if people want to take an art class, they could."

"I went to Laurel Cove Community. The people were very friendly and they seemed to be very busy. The staff was very nice. The young woman was sitting at the desk immediately came up and said, "Hi, can I help you?" Everywhere we went it was nice and you felt very comfortable. I liked the room there. On the outside, it doesn't look like much, but when you walk in, it's a completely different feeling. The menus look good. They showed us the menus, and we were there each time at almost lunchtime. Their residents seemed to go to lunch between 11:00 and 1:00. The food smelled fantastic, but we didn't eat any of it."

"My mom will move into Fieldstone Memory Care of Marysville. It was very nice. It is beautiful. I was very impressed with the furnishings. It's very clean, homely, and comfortable. The staff was nice and very professional, answered all my questions, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and seemed to be very caring. The dining area looked nice. They were all involved. They were exercising, and they were sitting in a chair doing some dancing. It was fun. They seemed to be having a good time."

"Aegis Lodge was gorgeous. It was a beautiful facility. The people seemed very nice. They had a lot of activities. The food looked good. The person who took me on the tour was very nice and very helpful. They gave me some cookies, and those were good. The building looked beautiful and extremely clean. Everybody seemed okay. It was just a little bit impersonal. The rooms were good sizes. Usually, two private rooms would share a bathroom, and it was very nice."

"My parents moved into Brookdale Monroe. It's a 13-acre parcel. They have non-assisted, assisted, and memory care, so residents can move wherever needed. My mother needs assistance while my dad does not, so they live together, and they can offer different care for both of them. They're very well-staffed. They offer a ride to medical appointments, shopping, and outings. They take care of lots of different services with extra charges for medical, medicine, and personal care. Included are their meals, electricity, and utilities. They offer lots of different activities daily. The staff are very qualified. They keep the facility very clean, and they're always doing maintenance. Right now, they're going to start redoing the carpet. They have a couple of dining rooms, so there's adequate dining. They offer menu choices for food and give the occupants choices. However, they could probably make up a little bit on some choices. The cost was very reasonable based on the other places we toured."

They came to us, introduced themselves, told us where they worked, and what they did. The dining area was beautiful. Their activities look like a lot of fun.
