"I visited the North Creek by Bonaventure's assisted living. I don't know much about the community yet but I know what I want in an apartment, and it's the only place I've found that has everything. I wanted a washer and dryer in the unit, a full kitchen, air conditioning, and a place I could get outside with my dog. I've been to several other facilities, and theirs is the best for me. It's also not a big place. The lady there who helped me was great."

"I visited Cogir of Mill Creek. They have independent living and assisted living. If it wasn't for the cottage at the other place, I would've chosen Cogir over all of the others. We were very impressed with the relationship of the people. They treated us nicely. The rooms were larger than any other place we went to and for us, that was a real plus. You have a lot of food choices. I like the fact that you have a regular menu and you have an alternate menu. You have a choice of a lot of different things. The people were friendly. It's family-owned. Even though it's large, the setting is good. They have an indoor section that you can step outside and I like that they're pet-friendly. The cost was a little higher, but I think it was worth it."

"Brookdale Monroe was excellent. I like how the director answered all my questions and how I got to meet the residents as well. I saw my mom interacting with all the residents and how they interacted with her. They were very professional. I felt very good about the security of the building, so my mom couldn't get out if her dementia got worse. I looked at their menu. I saw people eating it, and they said the food was always consistently good. It's the best I've seen of all the other facilities. It's top-notch."

"I toured Brookdale Allenmore. They were very informative and willing to show me around and let me see things. The staff was nice. They made sure I was comfortable. I had lunch with them, and it was just a pleasant visit. The food was good. The facility was very clean and nice."

"We lived in Horizon House since 2009. It was an excellent place, the staff was very good, very caring, and helpful. We are very pleased to live here. We have a very nice apartment on the patio level of the building, and it’s very comfortable. There are 70 committees and there’s always something going on all the time. The food is excellent. They have a very nice dining room, and they have a bistro where you can just stop for hamburger or things like that. I was impressed by how friendly the people were. "

"With its beautiful views of the city this place is so upscale that you would expect to see a star walk out the front door. The staff is exceptional and full of life. They offer the residents more to do than there are hour's in the day. The outings that the residents go on are great and they offer the residents the opportunity to live independabtly and on their own. They are so warm and loving. "

"My father was in Skyline Health Services for six weeks. One of the real drawbacks was you pay an initial payment of $1 million to get in. There were two buildings there: one that has senior living, and another with various stages of care, including total care, which is what he needed. He needed nursing care, physical therapy, help being fed, and all that; so he was in that facility. They were really wonderful for my father, but very very expensive. Medicare covered him for six weeks and once that was done, I moved him back to his previous facility to be closer to my mother, but he passed away within three days of that. It's a lovely building with lovely people, and it has very high-quality care, but it's very, very expensive. Where he was, they had full support for my father's needs. They have superb support. They have a van that will take you to places you need to go. It's a very lovely facility and very welcoming. The nurses who were in my father's care were wonderful; they were very patient and well trained. They were very experienced in using all the equipment, helping him getting in and out of bed, and taking care of him totally. On the outside, it's very pretty, and he had a nice room. They also had gardens for people, patios, and balconies, and it's a very lovely building. It's also in a wonderful location."

"Murano Senior Living is a brand-new place. It's a great facility with awfully nice staff people. I would give them high ratings. I have a good friend who's there in the memory care that I was able to visit, and I was also able to go to assisted living. It's excellent. It looks like The Ritz-Carlton hotel and everyone from the receptionist, to the salespeople, and the caregivers were all exceptional. They really care about their residents. One of them said, "We don't work here for the money. We really like to help people," and I could see that. I went on a boat tour of the waterways around Seattle, sponsored by Murano Senior Living, got acquainted with a number of their people and residents, and everybody was very, very positive. I sat in an exercise class that was excellent too. They were doing light workouts, stretching, lightweights, and what have you. The gentleman, Luke, was superb. Rita was my contact in the sales side and she was very knowledgeable, very gracious, and very accommodating. I was actually invited for lunch but couldn't make it, however, everybody that I've talked to has raved about the food. The chef is an outstanding fellow, so I would feel very comfortable eating there. They have all kinds of activities. So, it's a pretty varied and extensive program. I've been there maybe three times and there's always something going on. They've got lounges, libraries, sitting rooms, TV rooms, and just open spaces. The dining areas were beautiful. It looked out over the city and over the mountains. Since it's new, it's only maybe about half full, so there's a lot of space. There were chandeliers, artwork, and sculptures. The amenities were very, very nice."

"English and Japanese are spoken here mainly. They are attentive and always kind. You can tell the care takers are professional in every way and respect is always shown.There are games played at all levels, so everyone can enjoy it. There is light exercise depending on the individual's capabilities (chair or standing). Also there is entertainment depending on the theme of the day which could mean group sing-a-long or arts and crafts. The lunches are always delicious. I take my mother here as often as I can and she is always looking forward to it. "

"I really liked Bayview Retirement Community. It had a beautiful lobby and a friendly atmosphere. It’s very clean; the staff is great. "

"My husband was in Park Shore for rehab for one month. It's a full care facility, from independent living to nursing community and rehabilitation. It was really good, and I'd like my husband to be there, but they didn't have any rooms. They had to take their clients first before they can take anyone from the outside, but they loved him and he loved them, too. Even though they managed to vaccinate everyone twice, they wouldn't let me in the front door. My husband came out of there fully vaccinated. He also had occupational and physical therapy. They helped him to a point where he could not even stand on his own to be able to walk in a cane."

"Merrill Gardens at the University was very nice. They have a courtyard outside and access to a roof garden. I'm very much an outside person, so that was very attractive to me. The rooms were clean and updated. The staff was outstanding. The woman who took me around was just wonderful, very informative, friendly, and very connected to everybody in the facility. There were a lot of things that they do for the residents. They take them places, have game nights, a workout room, and a lot of activities for the community."

"Norse Home has been great for my mother. There are lots of activities that she's involved in. There's a fantastic view of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains and the food has been good. She's been very happy there. It's in a wonderful part of Seattle. It's great. It's more dormitory style. It does not have kitchenettes, but each floor has a kitchen. She likes the three meals in the cafeteria. It's not like some of the senior places where you have a living room. She just has one room like a studio. The staff is wonderful. They have assisted living as well. I've been very happy. I just wish they would do more outings. It's a good value. It's in a very nice neighborhood. She can go right out and walk around. Across the street is the zoo. It's right on a bus line. Right from her front door, there's a bus that goes right to downtown Seattle to the stores and everything. It is very good for independent people. For the price, this place was the best."
