"I moved to Heron's Key. It has everything someone might want and need. If I have any mental issues or other problems, they have the facilities to provide that type of care, all at no additional expense, because I paid quite a sum to get in here, as all members do. The new executive director sat down with members of each floor, asked them questions, and provided answers, as well as some information about what might happen in the future regarding future building and other developments. The meals are a separate charge because you have a choice of meals each time you go for a meal. They offer activities outside of Heron's Key, ranging as far as Seattle, Bremerton, and Gig Harbor. There are plenty of activities available for residents to choose from on a first-come, first-served basis. They have a waiting list in case someone needs to cancel, allowing another resident to take their place and maximize the usage of the trip."

"Wesley Homes Lea Hill was a very classy place. It's a very nice, clean, and lovely place, very large and very well kept up, but it was too expensive for me. It just looked very nice to live in. They had trips and activities going on that would be quite nice to have. The food was excellent."

"My grandmother was a resident in The Arbor of Wesley Homes and she stayed there for several months prior to her passing. The staff at Wesley homes was very helpful and caring especially those in the Arbor. My grandmother enjoyed the atmosphere and the fact that she was able to still have freedom and be a part of activities. She was able to socialize when she wanted, or just stay in her room if that is what she chose to do. We enjoyed the fact that we knew she was safe and should a problem arise staff was there to care for her needs. It was particularly nice to know that while she had a kitchen unit the stove could be turned off while she was alone, but back on while we visited. Prior to grandmother's passing the Arbor arraigned for everything from a pastor coming to a grief counselor for us. I cannot say enough about how much we loved this facility and would recommend it to anyone with a loved one needing extra care. "

"My Mother moved into Panorama in independent living in 2003. As she aged we moved her into the Quinalt so she was closer to the activities. She had given up her car and needed to be closer to the activities and restaurant. Once she could no longer care for herself the doctor wanted her in assisted living. To make her monies last longer, we moved her out after being there for 10 years to an other assisted living facility. That was a mistake. We moved her into an apartment with a friend and I setup her pills, she had better care there than the assisted living. When she fell and broke her hip she ended up a Panorama Rehab and Convalescent Center. She recovered well but knew she needed more than I could give so Panorama let her come back and she stayed in the Convalescent Center. All I can say is WOW. What wonderful caring staff. It is worth the monies by far to know your loved one is cared for. Thank you Panorama for employing people who care."

"My mother has lived at MG Renton for over 5 years. During that time she has transitioned from being fully independent to needing quite a bit of assistance with tasks of daily living. Throughout all the staff has been very caring and helpful. When things do come up, they are very responsive to my questions and concerns. It's a very welcoming place and I really feel that all the staff have the welfare of residents at the forefront of their approach."

"The Kenney is a wonderful retirement and assisted living facility. The units are clean and bright and the staff treats residents like family. I appreciate that the facility offers a wide range of interesting activities for residents and the dinin room offers fresh health meals throughout the day. "

"We looked at Skyline Health Services' independent and assisted because they're not sure what we're gonna do. They eventually said we would have to be in assisted living in order for our long-term care policy to work, and that put us into a hazy category. So, we wouldn't have access to all of the services that an independent living person would have access to. I like the people. I like that it's very new and fresh. It's beautifully maintained and all the residents that we've met there on the various visits that we've made were easy to chat with. It's a good location, and the physical plan seemed nice and good. The services seemed good and the staff seemed to be flexible in creating a care plan. The facility was top of the line with the exception of not having a swimming pool on-site. However, they have an arrangement down the street with an athletic club, so you can go down and use the pool there."

"Visiting this facility is a pleasure which begins with the free valet parking under the downtown Seattle building. Of course, it is not free forever but the first hour is. My resident friend has been staying in the assisted living unit of the facility for several months after she had some medical issues and subsequently needed assistance with self care and safety. The nursing staff is fabulous and provides excellent timely care in a professional and friendly manner. The head nurse has always had answers to our questions and has been able to get us any adaptive equipment we needed quickly. "

"I was also able to visit Horizon House, and that is an expensive facility. I have eaten in their dining room, and it's nice. The food was good. The residents that I know seemed to be happy there. "

"My first impression of Bayview Manor in Seattle was that it was pretty nice looking place. I had been to two previous assisted living facilities. Bayview was much nicer than one and not quite as nice as the other. Bayview had a really friendly staff and is located in a pretty nice neighborhood. I was there to visit the grandfather of one of my best friends. He is a widower that suffered a stroke a many years ago. The food actually seemed like something I would want to eat. I really liked how well the staff was able to remember so much about the people that lived there. They almost seemed like family members. I worked for a few years as a janitor, so I am a stickler for clean bathrooms, floors, and such. Bathrooms were really clean and free of odors. The eating utensils where clean and free of water marks (my mother was a germaphobe and taught us to check the utensils first). Floors appeared to be freshly mopped/vacuumed. His actual room was pretty big. It was bigger than most rooms I've rented in apartments and house in Seattle. A lot of the old people seemed to be fairly happy (as happy as you can be in an old folks home). I guess it wouldn't be a bad place to live when that day comes for me. "
