Other amenities include housekeeping and linen service, scheduled to activities and appointments, and general maintenance and repairs to rooms. Three delicious home-prepared meals are served every day in our gracious dining room. Daily care is provided by a team of dedicated caregivers who offer all the personalized care and support residents need. "Mill Ridge Village in Milton is a nice facility. You can walk to a grocery store from there. It's close to a strip mall where they have drug stores, grocery stores and you can just walk over. Location-wise, for being able to get out of the shop a little bit, it's quite convenient. The staff was also very nice. They were very enthusiastic and everybody we saw was very cordial. They have good staff, I think. The building was fairly large and it's kind of like a big circle with a courtyard in the center and the dining room was adjacent to the courtyard. It was quite nice. You go into a room with big windows and there is a courtyard with flowers and stuff so this is very pleasant. We didn't get to eat their food. We were there first thing in the morning, so there was no food being offered. The setting was quite nice though. One thing that was positive about it is that you're fairly close to many small towns. You can go to Puyallup, you can go to Tacoma, or you can get on the freeway to go up further north so location-wise, it's good. I still drive and we do a lot in the car so I like the location."

"I was impressed with Peninsula because the staff were really friendly and very helpful. The rooms were nice. There was a little kitchen, and you can cook in the room. You also could smoke in your rooms there, which I think is kind of different because the smell ruins the whole atmosphere for everybody else. I don't smoke, but I can still smell it. The food was good, and the dining room was good. They have bingo and tours. I did find it secure enough. "

"We have committed to a place called Foundation House. It is independent living with options for assisted. We have a cottage there, so we are independent. What I like best this place is the independence, the availability of all of the activities, food and everything, and the ability to move into assisted living when we need it. They have bridge, bingo, exercise, crafts, excursions, transportation, and classes. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. "

"Sound Vista Village was very clean, organized, and friendly. The people seemed happy. The lady that toured me around was open and answered all my questions professionally. I saw three different apartments. I liked the one bedroom the best because it was bigger and seemed more like a home. The other two were two different studio apartments. They were very nice, but I just couldn't see my dad living there. They were small, but they were all very nice for what they were. They supply refrigerators and a microwave inside the unit. One thing my dad didn't like was they didn't have a washer and dryer inside the apartment. These appliances were in the hallway (although they could have the option of having the staff do their clothes)."

"We toured Aspire-care looking for an adult home for my husband's father. The home was immaculate inside and out. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. We knew as soon as we met Grace Thud and toured the facility that this would be the place for our father/husband. She is so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable for caring for Alzheimer's and Dementia patients. My husband, his mom and I all feel fortunate to have had him in her care. We highly recommend any location that Grace has."

"I live in Julian Estates Gracious Retirement Living and I like the community. I like the fact that it's newer and well-kept up. The food is OK. Sometimes it's really good. There's pizza and spaghetti. They have something different going on every day. There's bingo and poker, and they play Mexican Train. Every week we have mocktails and then we have a special food item once a week prepared by them. It's expensive to live here, but the staff is excellent and the facilities are nice. It is almost looks like a hotel."

"My father is at Willow Gardens. Everybody is nice. It's really clean. All the residents are friendly. They provide three meals. I saw a little workout area, and they had bingo and stuff going on. The dining area looks really clean, it's like restaurant-style, so you have options to choose from. My dad said that the food was good, but I have not had anything there. They have an option if you're not feeling well and you don't want to go down, you can order something and then go down and pick it up. It's kind of like takeout, but you have to pick it up yourself. We had a little bit of problem setting up the payments and whatnot and there's a few questions that we still have outstanding with them, but overall they've been great. The parking does get to the point where there's no parking available. They have a secured gate, but they have not communicated what the gate code is to get in. They are a little bit pricey, but it is a nicer area."

"We toured Bonaventure of Puyallup. It's a newer community. I like the design, the flow of it, and the fact that it is new. When we toured, they were doing different kinds of arts and crafts. They showed us the movie room where they do the movies twice a day. They've got a little bowling alley and then a cardroom. They also talked about some of the field trips to take the seniors on. I met with their new executive director and she was very nice."

"GenCare Federal Way was an excellent facility. I toured for memory care, and the rooms were not as elegant, but they certainly would meet the needs of the client. The person who gave the tour was knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and was very friendly and outgoing. I did not try the food, but the dining room looked wonderful. The meals looked wonderful as people were eating. The menu was also good. There were some people in a class, so I did see that, and it was very good."

"My mom will move into Silver Creek by Bonaventure. We chose it because the atmosphere is great. It seems like they have a lot of activities, and the facility itself is nicely maintained. The staff who assisted during the tour was very personable and very nice."

"We have several friends at Patriots Landing at the moment. They have activities that are open to the public and a lot of things that we occasionally go to, like a big fireworks display on the 4th of July. We've had meals there with friends. I've gone to visit some people in a studio apartment and another woman has her own separate bedroom. I'm aware that there are different types of places that you can rent. We have a friend in the villas, which is a really cute place. She has a little bedroom, a kitchenette, a little dining area, and a living room. The washing machine and dryer are right down the hall. The only criticism I've heard about them is they have a lot of retired military, mostly widows. So, it tends to be a bit cliquey. The new people who come find it a little bit hard to get integrated because everybody has their own little circle. I guess they're not as open if you're non-military than if your spouse was military or if you are military. Other than that, I see their van around in different places where they take them shopping and out for activities. They're very active. In fact, one of the women at church worked in their restaurant and is now working in their activity center. We have a couple who live in a house and have to cross the street for meals. One of our friends upstairs is in the independent part, and she gets around and gets her nails done. They have different areas depending on what your circumstances are. The food is wonderful, like being in a 5-star restaurant. It's quite lovely. The staff I've seen have been very nice. It's kept very nice. The lady who called me made sure that I would have sufficient funds. She put my mind at ease that we could afford it."

"Village Concepts of Auburn - Brannan Park is very helpful and has made it very home-like for my brother. They take very good care of him. We haven't gotten any furniture, but they were very accommodating and got us some furniture until we can get some shipped. They loaned us a bed, a chair, and a few things for him. He is very content with the food. There are activities like bingo and chair exercises. They also have a shopping bus. My brother's in a wheelchair and I'm very happy that they come to change his sheets, wash his towels, make his bed, clean up the place, vacuum, and mop the floors. He needs help with that. If you don't want to eat in the dining room, they will bring a meal to you. They come in every day and put his compression socks on, and then they have someone at night to come and help him take it off. To me, that's worth whatever my brother's paying."
