Merrill Gardens at Ballard was nice and well-appointed. The staff was very friendly. We went in and saw some rooms. A couple of the residents opened their rooms up and let us look inside and they were very nice. They had a very nice rooftop garden with a view. Its location in Ballard was nice, but for parking, it's terrible. The accessibility to come to visit there would probably be the biggest concern. Also, it's full, but the staff was friendly and very helpful.

My first impression of Merrill Gardens at Ballard was that they have a big stairway at the entrance when there were so many people using walkers, which seemed kind of incongruous to me. It was a nice place. I was only able to see one room, which was very small, and looked out at another building. I was told that that wasn't a very good example of their rooms, but that's all that was available to look at that day. There were a lot of good services. We had lunch and I thought the person doing the tour was very knowledgeable. They had exercises, a bistro, a dining room, and a little library.
