I am at Merill Gardens. I like the area that it is in. The staff seems to be pretty good and they are really involved in people's lives. I don't have any complaints with what they are doing. I have three meals a day and some of I like and some of it I don't. They have a lot of activities and I enjoy helping the activity person with them. They have buses and take people around like groceries and trips around the area.

Merrill Gardens at the University was very nice. They have a courtyard outside and access to a roof garden. I'm very much an outside person, so that was very attractive to me. The rooms were clean and updated. The staff was outstanding. The woman who took me around was just wonderful, very informative, friendly, and very connected to everybody in the facility. There were a lot of things that they do for the residents. They take them places, have game nights, a workout room, and a lot of activities for the community.

Merrill Gardens left a lot to be desired. It was pretty depressing, and I didn’t see much of the activity at all. I saw one activity room, and it wasn’t even being used. The menu looked sufficient, but the dining room didn’t look all that clean, and I had no desire to eat there.

Merrill Gardens was clean, everyone was friendly, and the location was good. All of the apartments were too small, and my parents want more space. Even their two-bedroom unit was below 1,000 sq. ft. 1,200 would be better, but I can’t find any that size. The other thing I didn’t like was they didn't have a washer and dryer in the units. I only met the person who took me around, but she was very friendly, and the residents that I saw walking around were all very friendly.

I visited Merrill Gardens and the place is very nice, but I didn’t want to go there because it was too far from anything that I can get to by myself and my wheelchair and it was a little more expensive. The apartments were very nice and I like its setup. It's a very nice place, but it wasn’t suitable for me.
