"I went to Springwood Landing. It was very nice. It's a beautiful community. It was gorgeous actually. They had a lot of amenities, and it looked fairly new. Michelle took us around. She was wonderful, and she was very informative. We had lunch there also, which was very good. We had chicken fried steak. There were lots of food. I only got half done and I said, I can't eat anymore, and the little lady at the other table says, 'Oh, you should have ordered only a half,' and I said, 'We didn't know we could have a half.' The dining area was beautiful. It was very open, it had lots of windows, and it was bright. It is like going into a restaurant. We sat down with a menu, and they had several choices, so it was very nice. They had crafts, they had a billiards room, and they had patios and I like that. The utilities were all paid, and that was great. They have a beauty shop on campus there. They have buses to take you to grocery shopping and doctor's appointments. They had a gym, a craft center, a hobby place, a computer center, and all that. They had raised gardens. It's very nice. The people were very friendly. The staff who gave me the tour was very informative and very friendly. She just let us kind of roam around, too, and we could ask people questions ourselves. It's very nice. The only thing I don't like is that I have to pay for three meals a day, and I'd rather do my own breakfast and lunch and just have dinner. I like cooking and stuff, so that was the only drawback for me. It's pricey but it's brand new, too. The chef even came out and talked to us. He asked how we like the food. He didn't know we were visiting, I don't think, so it's very nice."

"My tour at Cogir of Vancouver was really good. I like that it has all the features of the other ones, but it's not so pushy. Like if somebody didn't feel like doing all the activities, it didn't feel like there would be this pressure for that. I like that they were accommodating to allow my mom to have an animal. And I like the layout of the apartments, they're nice. It felt more like a home than a resort. The staff was great. The facilities director, Craig, was the one that walked me through, he was very knowledgeable was not pushy at all. He was very upfront with cost and everything and he even brought in the nurse to talk to me about their process for admittance. And so he was very informative. The apartments were very nice, bright, and homey."

"I visited the independent living facility of Truewood by Merrill, Vancouver, and they were good. The facility was very clean, and they had a lot of dining options and activities for the seniors to do. The rooms were pretty and were suitable for the seniors living there. They're not an assisted living place, though. I am not looking for that at the moment, but I also want to look for a place that has step-up care. I met the marketing director, who was very nice and very informative. They gave me a meal voucher and I could come in at any time and have a meal, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner."

"We toured Cogir at The Quarry. It was very good. It was very nice. For our purposes, though, it probably is a little too large. They have a lot of things available. They have live music on Thursdays normally. There are outside tours available, too. The staff was friendly and very cheerful. The facilities were very clean, and everything was just very, very good."

"When we went to Parkrose Chateau, they were able to show us the apartment, and the rooms were a good size. They seemed perfect. The staff was very nice. The dining area is very nice, and they don't have any assigned seats. I was able to eat there, and the food is OK. I also saw some activities going on. "

"Mom is at MorningStar at Laurelhurst. It is very clean. Most of the caregivers are very caring and loving. They enjoy what they do and care for the residents. There were a few issues at the beginning, but things are better now. No place is perfect. I was given a couple of opportunities to have a meal there, and the food is always very fresh because the memory care patients are always served first. It's nutritious and they have a really good chef. There's a good variety. There are a lot of coloring activities (they have adult coloring books). They also play music and then have movies after dinner. They have other activities that I noticed on the board, like going for a walk and trivia things, but Mom's not interested in any of that stuff. She's very picky. She's always just sitting there, totally bored."

"I’m writing this review in hope that it will help those family members, who have been given this difficult decision of the placement of their love ones. I to had this difficulty decision myself, so I’m speaking from experience. The home and clients rooms are immaculate. Kept very clean, no odors. Each room has its own bathroom. Laundry is done by the care team. The food is home made, served hot. They do their best to accommodate the clients likes and dislikes. They have a menu for all dietary needs. It is family owned, therefore the staff are some of their family members. They take pride in the care they provide to each of their clients, meeting each with their specific needs. The home is a loving home. The staff is caring and make time to listen to the family and client individuals needs. I hope that this review will help make it a little easier with this transition. I know that my family and I were will pleased."

"I moved into here on 2nd of January. The staff is very caring, attentive, and has a special feeling for seniors. They go out of their way to do extra things. For example, I had a clogged toilet, so they sent somebody up to unclog the toilet, which is probably not in their job description. I love the views here and it's right downtown, so we've got magnificent views of the city, the mountains, and the river. I couldn't be happier. The food is adequate, but not great. I prefer to prepare my own food. I have a 2-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. They post the activities every day, but I have not attended any yet."

"My mother moved in here. She's fairly new. She hasn't gone to the dining room very much, but all the employees have been very nice, accommodating, understanding, and trying to get her more incorporated into the community. They've been very accommodating in giving what she needs, and we haven't had any major issues. The cleaning lady is fantastic. She came in and introduced herself. She gave us what the specifications are, what she's gonna do, and that's been fantastic. The size of her apartment is good for her. I've had a little bit of a problem with the door because they close shut. Sometimes it's difficult when you are in a mobility scooter, to get it open and have it stay open. I don't know what to do about that. The doors are a little bit weird. Their activity room has an area where you can go down and cook. I think in the dining room they have a dining table, and you can all sit at it. I think that seems very neat."

"This is where my mother-in-law has been in for a few years. It’s very clean and well-decorated, and the staff is very caring toward her. It seems she just has to wait a long time to go to the bathroom. Other than that, it’s been great."

"We went to Glenmoore Gracious Retirement Living. They have two-bedroom, two-bathroom units, but none are available at this time. They had a very nice dining room. The building and its surroundings were very nice. We had lunch there, which was pretty good. The staff seemed pretty good, too."

"My sister has been a resident for 2+ years at Rose Valley. Because of her need for more advanced care she will be leaving. Everyone from the manger to the day to day staff, the care was excellent. The were pleasant, helpful, and went out of their way to do extras for the residents. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They have buses to take residents to medical visits, supermarkets, Walmart, and different activities. As someone who has been in the medical field for 55+ years and eaten institution food, the food is good. The food is not home cooking, but good. They have coffee, juice, fresh fruit and chips throughout the day. If you will be gone during meals, dietary will make you something to to go. Lastly, it is the caring staff, that I and my sister will miss. "

"Creekside Village Retirement was very nice. It looked very homey and comfortable. The person who toured us were very nice and answered questions. The dining area was very nice, clean and comfortable. There were poker and card games going on there."
