I like The Lofts by Cogir. I just wish they had a different restaurants closer to the independent living. It was clean. I like the two-bedroom unit; however, the walls are painted kind of a dark pinkish tan color. A brighter color would help. The staff was very nice.

I went and looked at The Lofts by Cogir yesterday. They wanted $1900 a month. I was very upset because it took me a long time to get there, because the traffic was really bad. They had sent me pictures and everything, and what I saw was different than what I expected. I was running late, so by the time I finally got out of the traffic, I pulled into Costco. I called them, and I said, 'I'm at Costco in Vancouver. How far away am I from you?' It turned out I was only about 10 minutes away. I got up at 4:15 that morning so I could get my place ready, so I could leave it and make the drive out there. However, when I asked what time they leave, they told me 5:00. I had to get somebody to get in front of me in my car and drive me there because their address was so ridiculous. It was right on the main highway. You get off the main highway, and their building is right there. You can hear all the traffic and everything. I couldn't believe that. I was disgusted, but I thought, I'll go in and check it out. I went in, and then this girl who was supposed to meet me didn't meet me. She was taking somebody else on a tour, so I had to see somebody else, who you could tell was in a hurry to rush me around. The first thing she said to me was, 'Nobody can stay, and everybody has to leave at 5:00.' I had also said that I wanted to try a meal there to see what the food was like, and so I was disgusted when they said, 'We might not be what you need.' I thought, after I had spent all day getting there, I was just there for 15 minutes. When I talked to them on the phone, everybody was friendly and wanted me to come there and everything. They made it sound like they wanted to spend time with me. However, when I walked in the door, I said, 'I'm supposed to meet Abby,' and they said, 'She's on another tour.' Then they said, 'I think you misunderstand. We don't have any respite care here.' I said, 'I thought you could come for like a month and try it out.' She said, 'No, you got misinformation.' They were saying to me basically, right when I walked in the door, 'I don't know if this is what you're hunting for' without me even seeing anything. The staff was very friendly, but you could tell everything was planned with her, like they wanted me in and out of the door. She had the little booklet thing for me to take back. It was like an institution. There wasn't a single person in the hallway. It was cold. When the staff led me into the apartment, I was shocked to see how small it was. It was a one-bedroom apartment, but to me, it looked like a studio. Nevertheless, everything was clean, and everything looked nice.

I like the location. I like that they have good places to go for a walk. It was the most important for me. Food is not included. They don't clean your apartment, too. You are on your own. All activities are included. You simply have to walk to another building and you can go for meals there, but you have to pay for meals. This is like a transition between normal living and independent living, so I was interested in that. They have beautiful places for exercise. They have a beautiful swimming pool. The person that took me around looked like 18 years old. I think she was a little older, but I don't know why they have such young people to take old people around. Somebody closer to my age probably will understand me and my needs a little more. The condition of the facility is beautiful and very nice, especially this new building. Apartments are very small.

I highly recommend the Lofts by Cogir. Loved it. It's very clean and very well organized. They have good maintenance, good security, good amenities, and just an overall good vibe. It had an excellent setup for my aunt to not only feel like it was home, but also if she needed help, it was there.

I was able to tour the Lofts by Cogir. It was definitely more modern. It was more like a typical apartment you'd find nowadays. I looked at the little cafeteria eating section and I thought it was really nice. It was set up more like a bistro, not like a big, huge cafeteria, and that felt more welcoming. They had a warm pool, which was really nice. They also had a movie theater. The staff member who assisted me was very professional and very friendly.

I thought that The Lofts by Cogir was a semi-independent living place. The staff was accommodating. They don't provide food. They had a courtyard and you could bring in your own laundry equipment. I toured various areas and everything was clean, up-to-date, and nice. It's located right next to Vancouver Mall.

Our experience with The Lofts by Cogir was very good. The people were very nice and very helpful. They answered all my questions, and they were very thorough going through all of the amenities and all of that. The rooms were very small though. For someone that doesn't have any problems with walking, maybe that would be a good place, but it's just way too small for me. I need at least 800 to feel comfortable. I loved the amenities. If I could afford the bigger one, I probably would go for it because it's very nice and all the amenities were beautiful. It's a good location. They have a restaurant, a bistro, and a gym. They have something going on every day, like card games and bingo, to keep you busy.

I visited The Lofts at Glenwood Place. The building is brand new. You don't have to have the food, but I could go over to one of the restaurants over there like the bistro or the dining room, and order food for $7 if you wanted to eat out. The rooms were nice, but they didn't have any balconies or patios unless you lived on the bottom floor. As for amenities, you can join with the other building and do all that out. Out here, though, they did not pay for all of the utilities. You have to pay for your own phone, internet, cable, and electricity out there. It's a little bit cheaper of course. They have a pool over there, they have a gym, and they have a puzzle room, a social room, and a billiard room. They also offer housekeeping services for a fee out there. They also have a sauna, a computer room, and a movie theater. The movie theater thing was nice with those big chairs. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice and very informative. The only drawback to it is that it's right near the mall, so it's kind of a busy street. But it's still kind of quiet there, so that was kind of surprising.

There are a lot of people over at The Lofts at Glenwood Place. Because it is a combined independent living, assisted living and memory care, it is a pretty big place. There are a lot of staff and they seem to be very friendly with the residents. The only thing that knocked it down for me is the room size. They don't have anything larger than a studio. One of the best things about The Lofts is that it is connected with assisted living and memory so there are several units. There are several dining rooms plus one restaurant that is open to the public. Their amenities are the best because they have a free gymnasium and swimming pool, and there are a lot of activities. The community is really big, so it is a long way to walk from one to the other.
