"We will be moving into King City Senior Village in January. The staff was very friendly. The facility itself was very clean and well-kept up. We ate there, and their meal was excellent and well-suited to seniors. They had a lot of available activities. They had transportation available to doctors, grocery shopping, and little special trips to the Oregon Coast. They seemed to be wanting to do everything they can to make you welcome there and get you involved in the activities available, especially the exercise programs and some of the craft programs. They had a very nice campus. The building was older and consequently, the apartments that were available in it reflect that they weren't modern apartments, but they were well kept up. From what I could tell, they were completely redone every time somebody moved out. I know the one that we're moving into was completely redone, so it looked like it was new. I liked the location. It's kind of on the edge of town, but you have very good access to grocery stores, doctors, and the hospital."

"Springwood Landing Gracious Retirement Living is beautiful, very clean, and I love it. The 1-bedroom apartment I saw was adequate, but the studios were much too small. The activity centers and grounds were beautiful. I also like the idea that I don't have to make my own meals and they offer three meals. The staff is very helpful and friendly."

"My mother chose The Quarry because she liked the way it looked and felt. They do a great job of taking care of her. She's in semi-independent living, so they bring her pills and check on her regularly. They also help with physical therapy. She really likes the food. It's just pretty expensive for what it is."

"I visited Creekside Village. The apartments were very nice and very clean. They have an exercise center, pool data, and a theater area. They go to plays, and different events in the area, and recently they had a group of tap dancers come in. The staff is excellent, very polite, very informative, and very knowledgeable of their residents. They have quality food, the selection and menus are excellent, and the servers are prompt and very helpful. There were no issues when the residents were moving around using walkers and wheelchairs."

"I liked Kamlu Retirement Inn-Vancouver. It was a small facility, which was a plus in my book. They had a nice fireplace room. They didn't have nearly as big a library or activity room as others, but it's a lot less expensive. There weren't quite as many amenities. The people couldn't have been nicer. The dining area was very nice. The best thing that they had was very good people. Everybody knows everybody. There's a great focus on interactions. The staff was very caring and great."

"We like Brookdale Wilsonville. My wife, particularly, likes it very much. We like its proximity to shopping. She can just walk over and buy something. We took home a small plant that was a present from the staff. The cleanliness and upkeep was good. From the second floor and down the stairs, you're in the dining room. They had individual bedrooms where people could plant things. It was very nice."

"When I walked into Van Mall, it was like walking into a very comfortable cozy home. The people there were happy, laughing and talking together -- not only the employees but the people who lived there. It just presented itself as a very welcoming place. We liked it because it was very homey, and it had very friendly people. They had an exercise room. There was a lady leading several of the people who lived there in drumming, and it was very beautiful listening to them. They had their movie room. I thought my mother would really enjoy there. "

"I visited The Lofts at Glenwood Place. The building is brand new. You don't have to have the food, but I could go over to one of the restaurants over there like the bistro or the dining room, and order food for $7 if you wanted to eat out. The rooms were nice, but they didn't have any balconies or patios unless you lived on the bottom floor. As for amenities, you can join with the other building and do all that out. Out here, though, they did not pay for all of the utilities. You have to pay for your own phone, internet, cable, and electricity out there. It's a little bit cheaper of course. They have a pool over there, they have a gym, and they have a puzzle room, a social room, and a billiard room. They also offer housekeeping services for a fee out there. They also have a sauna, a computer room, and a movie theater. The movie theater thing was nice with those big chairs. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice and very informative. The only drawback to it is that it's right near the mall, so it's kind of a busy street. But it's still kind of quiet there, so that was kind of surprising."

"Cogir of Glenwood Place is a good place. The staff are very friendly. It is beautiful there. It is very clean and smells good. They have a courtyard, a salon, a gym, and a theater. It is close to hospitals and restaurants."

"I toured Holiday Rock Creek. I thought that was a very nice one, very nice people, and a very nice setting. The dining and food, and everything was nice. I would recommend anybody to be able to go there. Even meeting the people at dinner and speaking with them, and all the staff there are nice, helpful people, and the location is nice. The rooms were nice. They had a lot of amenities like the laundry, and during the day in between meal times, they have a location where you can go, and get something to eat or coffee or other drinks, or anything you want. The staff was extremely nice and answered every question and everything. The food was good. It was served nicely like it's in a restaurant."
