We toured Trustwell Living at Evergreen Place. It's small, and they seem like they give pretty personal care. The staff was very good and very personable. They have a dining room. There's a game room where they can play stuff. They have a nice outdoor area. It wasn't fair because we missed the lunch, and they had to reheat it. So, it wasn't a real fair trial of it because it's been reheated. The food tastes good. The variety was good. We didn't get to eat at with the whole dining room or anything. It was a small facility, so the dining area wasn't huge. They're pet friendly. They have transportation. They checked all the boxes.

My friend had scabies he caught there. They're negligent in their protocols and they did not put him in a temporary room they did not attempt to vacuum the mattress or steam clean it to get the scabie eggs out of the mattress they quarantined them right back in his room again.

Trustwell Living at Evergreen Place was my least favorite. Deb, the gal I worked with, the communications director there, was phenomenal. She was fantastic. Huge, huge help. But this one was more assisted living versus independent living. And the rooms were not great. They were dark and it just felt very impersonal. Like, here's a box in the bathroom, congratulations. I wouldn't want somebody there personally. It was definitely an old facility, it was small, and it looked like they were doing the best with what they had. And it's under new management; Trustwell had just taken over, so I think they're in the process of making things better, but at the time I wasn't impressed. It looks like there's a lot of maintenance that still needs to be done, could use some paint, those kinds of things.

Trustwell Living at Evergreen Place was a very good facility. It was a little old, but everyone was very nice. It was a square layout, so it was easy to get around and it was not very large. It had a nice courtyard and the amenities had easy access. The only detriment I saw was that the rooms didn't have outdoor access. Everything was closed off from access to the front door. All the staff were very helpful and very nice. The meals were fine. They were probably a little bit better than I would expect in an assisted living facility.

My stepfather is at Trustwell Living at Evergreen Place. It's not a big place, which is a plus because I don't want him to get lost being in a bigger facility. They can have their small pets with them, and it's a secure building. They get quite a few choices for their meals. They fill out a form the day before on their choices. Overall, I think he enjoys it there. His room is nice. I got him a queen-sized bed that he can lift the top and the bottom. He's got a recliner in there, a TV, a mini kitchen, and a nice-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's a good-sized room for him. They have a movie room and an outdoor patio. They can do their activities and exercises in the dining room or another room next to the dining room. They go on a bus tour. They'll go and have casino nights and have dinner there. When I first moved him in, I was very happy and he was doing good. And then they started changing staff. And so, I was constantly having to remind them of things and going over his medication. They were hiring younger people and they just didn't seem to be as attentive to their patients. But then they brought back a couple of the ones that were there at the very beginning. And so now, things seem to go back to the way they were.

We have chosen a facility, but she hasn't moved in yet. We made the decision, and she is actually going there in a few weeks. My mother has a friend that lives there. It is a small community which I think is really important. It is on a single level building which I think is very important as well. It has a large outdoor area with grass and benches which I think is very important. Because it is a small community, the people seemed to be very caring and know exactly who you are. She has a separate apartment which is very nice. She has a living room, a small kitchen, a bedroom, and a very nice bathroom. I'm really not very familiar with the activities because we haven't moved her in yet, but I know they have a lot them. It is in a fantastic location. It is close to the incoming freeways so that visitors can easily find her. There is lot of shopping and restaurants nearby. There are places to get your hair done. All of that is within walking distance. I know it is secured, and I know it is safe.
