"I was very impressed with them. It was clean. The manager gave me a tour, and she knew every individual that lives there by their first name and what activities they were involved in. They were getting ready to serve lunch as my tour was finishing up, and the food smelled and looked good. They all had full plates of food in front of them; there were generous servings. I was very impressed with the place. The room that I looked at was empty. Either each unit has its own bathroom or it's a Jack-and-Jill bathroom shared by only two residents as opposed to a group bathroom. I thought that was nice; there's better privacy. It sounded like they had a lot of activities. They do crafts, and they take the people who are able out on community outings like to the local swimming pool. The common areas were clean and well-appointed. I was told that they have a beauty parlor on the second floor with an elevator for access. The facilities were very good."

"The Stafford is a lovely facility located in Lake Oswego, OR, just a short drive to downtown Portland. The facility is by far the nicest retirement community I've ever visited, and it also has an assisted living facility attached for those who require a bit of extra help. The location is very nice, on the quite outskirts of the city, and within walking or driving distance of a number of great shops and restaurants. The Stafford always has great food in its wonderful dining room, with a variety of options available for food. There is also a small cafe that serves hot drinks and snacks. The staff is very helpful and attentive to the needs of their clientele. The grounds are well maintained and provide a beautiful setting. There is also a nice gym and spa facilities located in the Stafford. It would be very easy to live there year-round and never step a foot of the grounds. "

"We're planning to move in to Mary's Wood. We had a social group and we had about 25 people who lived there. It's continuing care, from people with independent Villas to large apartments, small apartments, assisted living and then skilled care. You wouldn't have to move anymore. It's really more of change of residency and change of lifestyle -- that's what I liked. You could walk from the property and right on to a trail that goes to the river. The grounds were very good. We knew some of the staff there. I would recommend them to others. "

"We've chosen Rose Villa, and we're on the waitlist. The staff was very nice. We had one lady that took us on a tour and we said hello to several other people that were busy working there. We went to the restaurant and we looked at the menu, but we didn't taste the food. They had a pool and an exercise room with equipment, and they had artist studios that you could rent or share. They had a salon, a barber, and a very nice library. The rooms were very nice. They had a wide range of choices and designs."

"My parents are in Willamette View memory care section. They are excellent. They care for people who are very mobile and very independent all the way up to end-of-life care. Even though my parents are in the memory care area, they have access to the arts center, the library, and the restaurants, as long as a family member takes them. They have concerts and lots of different things. It's just very expensive."

"We toured Mirabella Portland, it has a range of care. So you can get independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. It's pretty much top of the line from what I could tell, it's a very good place. But it also costs half a million dollars to get in, so there's a difference with other places. You can do anything you want to your apartment, the building's in very good shape. The people are more sophisticated and more educated, and it's just a different kind of atmosphere. The person who gave the tour was wonderful. The food is not the best but it's good. They have amenities like a therapeutic pool, they have a beauty salon, they have all kinds of activities like movies, they take people on busses to symphonies and shopping trips to the grocery store. There are just lots of choices."
