Just Like Home Adult Care Home

I visited dozens of assisted living and care facilities before choosing Just Like Home for my mother. She had been living independently until an extended hospitalization left her unable to care for herself. It was a difficult transition for her, and she was not in very good shape emotionally after her long stay in a skilled nursing facility. The administrators and staff at Just Like Home have made it their mission to help her adjust, even though her behavior at times has left a great deal to be desired. They are very sensitive to her needs, both the ones she is able to vocalize and the ones she does not express. They are extraordinarily patient and unfailingly gentle and kind. I visit often -- three or four times a week -- and Mom is always clean and well cared for. I know she gets her medication exactly right and on time, and I know the staff will get in touch with me immediately if something needs my attention. The food deserves a special mention. Lidia L., who is the mother of Ms. Pap (the administrator) is an exceptionally gifted cook and baker. The residents are the lucky recipients of her wonderful soups and other savory delights from her native Romania, and everyone who visits is treated to one of Lidia's delightful pastries. Even the visiting home health care nurses usually go home with a little container of cakes and cookies. I am quite sure that if she wanted to, Lidia could open a very successful fancy European bakery. As my mother's condition has declined, Just Like Home has made sure that they continue to meet her changing needs. I feel extremely lucky to have found such a wonderful place for her to live.
