"I was very impressed with Hilltop, but my father couldn't afford it. The rooms were like individual rooms, and I liked that he wouldn't be sharing. I was impressed with their programs. They had a lot of activities for the seniors to do. They took them on mall trips and to the grocery stores where they could do their shopping. They had bingo nights, and every day they had something going on. They also had extra outside excursions where they took them to movies or even to the casino, and you don't even had to pay extra for those. I also liked the fact that they had somebody come in to remind him of his meds and stuff like that. However, the price was not something that he would be able to afford. The lady who showed me around was very nice. I liked the fact that she had called me back just to follow-up and what not. Overall, I really liked the place and wanted him to be there. I am still looking for funding right now. I would recommend it to anyone who could afford to stay there. "

"I did a tour of the Hamlet at Chagrin Falls. It was very clean and very well kept up. It's geared more towards independent seniors. You have assistance available for those who need a little bit more assistance in their daily lives. They have an awful lot of activities, and they have therapy that can be scheduled. They have a dining hall available, and they have a lot of road trips. They have regular trips to shopping, drugstores, and dinners out. They have a library, and they have a salon. They lock in the price that they enter into and that will be their rent for the duration of their stay."

"Right now my dad is at Solon Pointe because that is where they can accept Medicaid waiver for him because he is not able to self-pay. He is up on the second floor in the memory care and they want to see if they can try to transition him to the downstairs area and eventually get him over to his own studio in the assisted living. He has been there since April 3rd and he is not happy because he says the place is too clinical. The facility needs a little updating, but I am sure the Alzheimer’s patients don’t really care. The nursing staff is very good and treating him well. The two nurses who we talked to said that they wouldn’t mind having him back. If a family member couldn’t ride with him to appointments, that they will transport him there with someone and bring him back. Their assisted living side looks good and they’ve have a lot of activities going on. Their dining room and little library area look nice, and their assisted living side looks really nice."

"Vitalia Senior Residences of Solon is a brand new place. It had plenty of activities for the seniors to partake in. They had a swimming pool, chair yoga, chair volleyball, and other things. They also had fitness classes, games, a library, and a movie room with discussions going on. It seemed like a very nice place. The apartments were pretty nice. They had studio apartments as well as one and two-bedroom apartments. You have to bring your furniture. The lady that was giving the tour was very knowledgeable and very friendly. She engaged in conversation with my wife's cousin and got to know all about her and everything. There were a couple of residents who came up and said hi, too. We saw the menu and it seemed like there was good food in the cafeteria."

"We went to Vitalia Mentor for a tour. It is beautiful. However, we are the first generation of not being blue collar. We are kind of in the middle of the middle class, and the Vitalia Mentor was a little bit snooty. It just felt like you didn't want to touch anything. It was set up beautifully. They emphasized that they had food available all the time. But, it didn't feel like my mom, who grew up on a farm, was going to fit in there. Nevertheless, I could see friends of mine bringing their parents to live there in a heartbeat. It's very nice. It is just not suitable for Mom. The building is only three years old, but it is not homey. The lady who did the tour was very friendly and very nice. She listened to Mom really well. We only saw one apartment because I don't think there were any empty units. There is also no place to sit outside there for the residents. The amenities were the same. They had a big theater set up to watch movies, which was nice. A laundry room is available, like the other place. They have a small gym. The staff didn't really say too much about the activities, which is one of the main reasons we want to move my mom where she is around other people. However, there were more people in the hallways and residents to say hello to or that kind of thing at Vitalia Mentor than there were at the other place. They have a whole kitchen thing available with all kinds of food, and it's like being at home. The room was considerably smaller than the other place, and maybe that was because somebody was living there; it wasn't just staged, and so therefore he had more stuff in there, so that could be. It turns out that they were also out of our price range. The staff member who gave the tour was pretty tuned in; she did a good job."

"My aunt is there at Parker Place, and she has been there for a long time. It is very nice. Fortunately, my uncle had a good enough pension, so when he died, the pension helps her in, and also she gets assistance from the WWII Veterans. I visited Parker Place for my mother. It is a very high-end place. When you walk in, you feel like you're in like a grand hotel. Their lobby is large. It has a big crystal chandelier on the middle. It has staircases on each side. We had a free lunch there, and the food was very good. There are a lot of couples living there also. They have two- or three-bedroom apartments. They also have a lot of facilities like an exercise room, a full library, and a general TV room. The dining room is very elegant, i.e. real china and real silverware. It is like you're at a nice restaurant. The service is good. We didn't have to wait long. You can pick your menu for the day or the week. Unfortunately, we just could not afford it for my mother. "

"We toured Vitalia Rockside - Active Adult Community. We viewed everything. The directors toured us around. We saw the availalble apartments and things of that nature. Everything was very nice, and we enjoyed our visit with them. They have a lot of activities for male seniors. They have a men's group there to help men bond with other men because the population is usually more female to male when it comes to seniors, so they try to help out the men who live there as well."

"The staff was very helpful, very caring, and willing to accommodate people at Summit Point. The rooms were very nice, and the food was great. I think they had enough activities for people to get involved in. It was really nice and had three levels of care. "

"We have always felt Vista Springs Quail Highlands offered superior care for our mother, but over the past year the care has become even more superior. The management listens to any concerns and quickly implements or addresses any questions or requirements we have for our mom. She is very happy here. I am specifically writing today as it is Thanksgiving 2020. When looking at this review in the future, please remember this was the year of the pandemic. We could not safely take our mother out of the facility today. The staff provided a "safe" enclosed space for us to at least be in the presence of our mom while she shared her dinner. They also offered dinners to family members. In addition, Vista Springs Quail Highlands has managed to keep the virus away from the residence. Their strict protocols and safety measures have kept our mother safe and healthy during this difficult year. The staff is second to none and we are very grateful our mother is a resident here. Thank you to everyone at Vista Springs Quail Highlands. You allow us family members to sleep soundly at night. "

"Our Mom has been here for over 8 years. She really enjoys the activities, meeting other residents and the staff. Her routine has changed over the years and they have always adapted to meet some unique needs. This was the best decision coming here it's worked out even better than we all hoped it would. "

"In 2008, we lost our dear, 78 yr. old mother. My father had been an amazing caregiver to her for over a decade, due to her chronic illnesses. However, for the last few weeks of her life, she needed skilled nursing care. We were fortunate to find placement for her at Mount Alverna, where she had worked 20 yrs. ago. Each of the staff there cared for her like she was their own mother. They would even style her hair and paint her nails. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2010, we lost our beloved father in less than a month. It was his request to also die at Mount Alverna. The 15 days he spent their, prior to his death, were for us "time in God's waiting room." Again, our experience with ALL the staff, was something for which our family is forever appreciative. "

"I chose to be here. I picked the room I’m moving into. They explained the activities, and it sounded like they can keep me active. There were people talking to each other when I was there. I was very impressed with what I saw. The dining area looked big, it looked inviting, and you would think that it was a restaurant. It’s a nice looking, antsy place. They have an exercise room."

"Vitalia Active Adult Community at North Royalton had excellent meals, snacks, and food options. It was a brand new place. It was fantastic. Their bedroom was nice. They gave a good presentation of their place. The price was just pretty high."
