"My mom has been at Governors Village a little over a year. I am very pleased with the facility and the daily care she receives.. Everyone is very caring and supportive. There are many activities available to the residents thanks to Stephanie. She is always busy creating fun things to do and always has some sort of theme for each month. Aside from being the Activity coordinator, she is also a very caring person involved with helping residents as needed, whether it is helping during meals or comforting someone with a little hug. "Vitalia Highland Heights is a brand-new facility. They just opened. I was very impressed with the independent living quarters that they offered. There were two spaces available. There are two bedrooms with a nice large living area and a kitchen that has everything. I know that if I wanted to, I could cook and bake there. There's a seating area in the kitchen. You don't have to have a dining room table, but it's big enough that you could have people sit down there on both sides. You could probably get maybe 4 or 5 people sitting in this area. They have beautiful two bathrooms that are bigger than what I'm living in right now. They have a washer and dryer, which is very important to me. The price is OK. I think they want $4005 or somewhere around there, maybe close to $5000 a month. They offer a lot of bus trips and typical things. They have a pool. They have everything. They have invited me twice now to come for lunch and their food is excellent. If you have a car, they have a covered parking area and that's $75 a month. That's high, and all it does is that there's a parking area where everybody parked right next to each other. You just have a roof over the outdoors. It's not an enclosed garage."

"Waterford at Richmond Heights is a very nice facility. They have game room and a nice library. My sister got a small apartment with a living room, a kitchenette and a bedroom. At first, we had adjustment issues when she went there, like she stopped eating, etc., but she's doing well now. The staff are very helpful. She is getting good care from them. My sister does have dementia and she doesn't have the presence of mind to ring a bell or anything, so they have her on the schedule where they would come and check her every couple of hours. She has gotten used to the care and to the routine and she's getting a lot better now. We went up there for her birthday and were going to take her out but the director said, "Why don't we just put you in a private dining room and let her have lunch here with you guys, because it's upsetting to her to be in a new environment?" So they gave us a real nice lunch and they had some birthday cake for her. It was a very nice touch. "

"I toured Rose Senior Living Beachwood for assisted living. The apartment style was very nice. They supply a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. They supply three meals a day."

"Forest Hills Place was very, very nice. Food was provided. The studio had a little microwave and one of those little dorm-sized refrigerators. It had a small odor, though. One of the residents had moved out, and that resident had a cat, and as soon as you kind of walked through the door, you had that cat smell that was horrible. That shouldn't be the first thing you encounter when you walk in. When you went upstairs to the second floor or third floor, you didn't have any odor or anything, but you did need to come back to the first floor in order to see the dining area and all of those other areas, and that smell just kind of wafted. The woman who did the tour was excellent. She explained everything. I liked the rooms, the common area, and the bath area. They provided the laundry, and that was inclusive as well."

"Brookdale Wickliffe was a very inviting place. The staff as well as the residents were very friendly. The rooms were definitely up to standard and well-kept. The appearance of the rooms looked very inviting. While I was touring around, the seniors were getting ready for a game of bingo. They were all lined up in the activity room looking very excited. They also had a chapel there which looked very pleasant."

"I toured StoryPoint Shaker Heights. The place is beautiful. The decorations are beautiful. The care they give the people is beautiful, but it has a small stench. That's a new building, and it should not have a urine smell to it. I have friends who stay there as well. The staff is nice and friendly. I guess everywhere is short. I've been there several times, but the last time I was there, I guess they had a few issues with staffing being short as far as assisting the people getting dressed, and then the kitchen help. They have three people who help with the kitchen, and the actual cook didn't show up that day. So, they had to order food out, which they were on point with ordering the food out. But I think that there should always be a backup cook and not just one person that's being a cook. The facility and the upkeep looked beautiful. I mean, like everything, when you come in, it's beautiful artwork. It looks clean. I don't know if they're not using some bleach or something when they clean. I think they need to invest in something a bit more stringent to kill the scent because you can use basic bleach and water, and it won't have that smell."

"My grandfather lived here the last year of his life and absolutely loved it. We enjoyed visiting him here as he really felt like it was his home and it brought him a lot of happiness. I will forever be grateful for this place and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place for elderly to live."

"My husband is a resident of Heritage of Euclid's assisted living. So far, the staff is friendly, and they are doing a pretty good job. I would describe his room as being adequate. I would say the upkeep is okay, and the activities are pretty good. My husband is not very active, but I've seen them doing crafts and taking the residents out. For amenities, they have a salon, and that's about it."

"My uncle moved to Maple Ridge Senior Living. I like the family atmosphere, the kindness, and the welcoming staff. They are willing to accept my uncle's limitations and do what they can to help him get well. I love the activities that they offer and we love the cottage setting. You can tell that they picked their staff very carefully. I haven't tried the food but the meals are very nutritious and well balanced. When you walk in the doors, you hear beautiful piano music playing, and it's just a beautiful facility. Everything's brand new and the furniture is new. It's a beautiful cottage and the grounds are gorgeous. The flowers are blossoming. They have a pretty gazebo. They said that in the summertime they do concerts outside for the residents. They have the rocking chairs out for them to sit in the beautiful weather. I also like the fact that they can do his laundry. It's a superb care that he's getting."

"I paid a visit at Solon Pointe at Emerald Ridge and I learned they accepted Medicaid. Everything was very nice, from the staff to the rooms. The staff was helpful and accommodating. "

"We chose Alpine House of Maple Heights for my father. They have been in contact with me to show that they remember who I am and my dad, and I like that. The room comes with a small balcony, so my dad can open up the window to get some fresh air. They have a little basketball area, a sitting area outside, and community meals. They said if you weren't able to come down, your meal could be delivered to you. They have a full nurse on staff. I asked a couple of the residents how they liked living there, and they said they did. They have an arts and crafts activity. The dining area was nice and clean. The gentleman was very friendly and knowledgeable. Everybody was nice."
