"I went to Kentridge Senior Living on Friday. They wanted to know about my sister and what she was looking for, so we spent a lot of time talking, and then she took me on a tour of the different sites. They have one bedroom, and studio and she showed me several of the apartments that happened to be empty. She showed me the exercise room and the dining room. They said the people can eat anytime, there are no certain hours, they can open all the time for food if someone is hungry. When I went in, there were some people in a nice area right outside the entrance. They were just sitting and talking. When I got home yesterday, Amy from Kentridge had left me just a small gift on my front door, thanking me for being there and talking, which is very nice of her. She mentioned she had mailed a brochure to my sister already."

"Danbury Tallmadge was very nice. The staff was very friendly. The room was exceptional there. It was a large room for memory care. It had several windows. My mom has been in a wheelchair for several years, but she doesn't use the wheels with her arms, she moves with her feet, so she is not the best at navigating. And the room that the staff showed me had a large right angle as you went in, and I just didn't think my mom could maneuver well there. It was also the most costly of all six that I looked at. However, the staff members were very friendly. It was very nice. It's a newer building."

"We're very pleased with Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls. My mother is in memory care under hospice, and she seems to have adjusted very well. A lot of her tendencies that she was showing at home have calmed down. They watch after her and take care of her very well. She has gained eight pounds, which is excellent, because she had been losing weight the whole time at home. She loves the food. You would never imagine you were walking into a nursing home. It feels more like a hotel. It has very comfortable surroundings. When we walked in there, we felt very at ease with it. Their staff is awesome. Each meal they bring out three choices for each entree. The facility is excellent and very clean. I've never had any issues with it. They have activities for each individual, and she has participated in a lot. It's one of the most reasonable places I found."

"My mother has been a resident at Danbury in Hudson for 4 months now since needing more care and assistance with medications. She was previously in Springwood, the sister facility for independent living. The transition to Danbury was easy and well-managed by the staff and administration. The staff (nurses, care-givers, dining, maintenance, and front desk/office) have been simply OUTSTANDING. I really can't say enough about how friendly and kind every single person has been to my mom. My sister and I rest much easier knowing she's getting the care and attention she needs. The activities are frequent and varied. In hindsight for my mom wishes she had moved to Danbury sooner. My sister and I advocated for it but mom was too happy with her apartment and friends at Springwood. If she had moved a bit sooner, she would have had an easier time getting into all the activities and options available. The other residents are all friendly and welcoming. The facilities are quite lovely. The common spaces allow for plenty of space to visit with friends and family. The rooms vary in size and most tend to be on the smaller side. That worried mom at first, but her studio apartment is set up quite nicely for her needs and she's quite happy with it. I think the food is above average for an assisted living facility. I like it. The combination of the dining room plus a mix of happy hours, mixers, ice cream Sunday bars, etc. provide good variety. I'll repeat the most important part, the staff, especially the nurses, care-givers and dining staff, are so welcoming, kind, and helpful. It's truly impressive to see, and I'm very thankful."

"Gardens of Western Reserve is close to where I live. The director of the facility took me on a tour. He knew everybody by their first name because they try to make them feel at home. He's been there for 11 years. "

"Move my sister from one memory care facility to Maplewood. Could not be happier. It was less expensive. The room size was much better complete bathroom and en suite great medical care, and personal care facilities offer dental and beauty shop services. Also in facility medical care. Really good dining experience. Excellent communication with family members."

"Summit Corners has very good customer service. They also have very good facilities that are kept up well. It's a beautiful setting/environment. There was one room, and I took some pictures of it. It's not too bad. It's a little bit small, but it has a big closet. It's private, so I like that my mom would not have to have a roommate, and that's a plus. It's more like a home instead of like a regular nursing home. I didn't try out the food, but the staff member who gave me the tour says it's very good. It sounded good from the menu, and the staff says she eats it herself."

"Vista Veranda is a wonderful facility for your loved ones. I was in need of help for my mother fast and they accommodated me. The staff was and continues to be so caring and compassionate. It does feel like a family. When I visit my mom, everyone knows who I am. The rooms are all carpeted, comfortable and cozy. They each have a large window that lets in a lot of natural light. The window sill is huge and can accommodate pictures, flowers, plants, etc. My mom likes the food and the outdoor setting is beautiful and peaceful. It comforts me to know that my mom is in a safe, loving community. I highly recommend Vista Veranda. "

"My aunt has moved into Heritage Crossing. The staff there seems to genuinely care about the quality of life for their clients. They seem genuinely concerned about what my aunt's specific interests are. My aunt has been there and I'm in another state, but they talk to my sister and my mom about what my aunt would like to do. My aunt likes to arrange flowers, so they said that they could maybe go to Hobby Lobby and get some flowers for her to arrange. There's a lot of sunlight in their common areas, and several different seating areas so that people can gather in groups. It's bright, sunny, and very inviting. They're the cleanest and most well cared for facility we visited. A couple of places that we looked at were not so nice, but I think Heritage Crossing is of excellent value."

"My aunt has been in Arden Courts of Bath for three weeks now. We felt it was the best fit for her because it was smaller and because of the way that it was laid out. We just really liked it. She's doing well there and thriving, doing a lot of activities and stuff. It's a complete turnaround from where she was. It's great. We're very happy with it. The whole facility is memory care. The staff is unbelievable. Every single person is so friendly. Everybody greets you and says hi. If you have any questions, they are on top of things. Nobody ignores you or anything. Every single person there is fantastic. We were there on Mother's Day and watched her eat, and it looked delicious. It was like a giant pizza meatloaf, green beans, and baked potato, and she said it was very good. The place is immaculate. There's a whole schedule of stuff on their calendar and the calendar doesn't even list everything that they do. The one time I went, they played basketball. They go outside, they do walks, they do puzzles and games, they have music people that come play guitar and sing, and they have happy hour Fridays where they do different activities. There's always something going on."

"Brookdale Montrose was a very, very beautiful facility, but when I asked the question of what would happen if my sister's funds ran out/if she outlived her funds, I was told that they would help us find a place for her. That's not what I wanted to hear. The apartments were very nice. They had a lot of common areas with tables and chairs where people could congregate and do puzzles or whatever. They have several of those areas. Their dining area was nice. The facilities seemed very clean."

"The Inn at Apple Ridge is excellent, clean, the staff is very cordial and expert, and the top management is very hands-on. They're there to listen to you. I couldn't ask for any better expenditure of the high cost of assisted living. It's brand new, so you have the opportunity to be the first one if you get in now. The food is all very nutritious, non-seasoned, and edible. My wife likes the food. The activities are well conducted and well attended with a lot of fun. It's a pleasure to go there."
