"When we walked into Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville, it was like a five-star hotel. The assisted living rooms were like apartments that had wreaths hung out on their doors, and it was very bright and cheery. They were just beautiful. The people we met were very, very nice. The chef came in with a platter of fruit and cheeses, and because it was the first one I looked at, we were sold on the studio that was on the first floor that had a little door to walk out onto a patio. However, the more I thought about it, I didn't know if the studio was fine because everything was in the same room. They had a pool inside the place though, an exercise room, a theater room where they hold virtual masses on TV, a library, physical therapy, and a dining room that was like a restaurant where you order off a menu. It was just beautiful."

"My mother stayed for respite. They were very friendly. It was very clean. They seemed genuinely concerned about my mother's welfare. Her room was very clean, it was pretty. It was really nice. It was perfect for Mom for what we needed. The facilities were a little older than some of the places I saw."

"Sunrise was a very nice facility. It was very bright and clean. It seemed like there was a lot of interaction. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. They had activities for the residents. "

"My father moved into Cardinal Court, and it is the best it could possibly be. The care for Alzheimer's patients could not be any better. They are wonderful, and I'm so thankful that he's there. The people are wonderful. I've been there every day, their food is excellent, and their kitchen staff is nice. They chef is wonderful, they give the residents snacks, and I actually have to tell them to feed my dad less."

"I was able to tour Rose Senior Living - Avon. The apartment was very nice. Carol, the administrator, was very nice. Everything seemed very clean, and the residents seemed happy. They had transportation. The continental breakfast was included daily, and they had a lot of activities like gardening. They had a beauty parlor there. And then they had nice outdoor sitting areas and nice walking trails. It was a nice facility. The staff was very nice and very informative."

"Vitalia Active Adult Community at North Royalton had excellent meals, snacks, and food options. It was a brand new place. It was fantastic. Their bedroom was nice. They gave a good presentation of their place. The price was just pretty high."

"Independence Village of Avon Lake was very nice. If it was up to me, I would really think it should be a go, but I just don't think my mother is ready yet. They offer some assistance with the independent. The staff was great. The food was good. They had exercise. The rooms were great, and I saw three of them. There's 1-bedroom and 2-bedrooms, and they have a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. Everybody seemed very happy and comfortable. It's a great place. I have not one bad word to say about it. They have chefs that cook and then bring the food out. They have it set up for three days a week, you dine in, and four days a week, you dine in your room and they deliver it. They offer shuttle services. They have a good setup."

"In 2008, we lost our dear, 78 yr. old mother. My father had been an amazing caregiver to her for over a decade, due to her chronic illnesses. However, for the last few weeks of her life, she needed skilled nursing care. We were fortunate to find placement for her at Mount Alverna, where she had worked 20 yrs. ago. Each of the staff there cared for her like she was their own mother. They would even style her hair and paint her nails. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2010, we lost our beloved father in less than a month. It was his request to also die at Mount Alverna. The 15 days he spent their, prior to his death, were for us "time in God's waiting room." Again, our experience with ALL the staff, was something for which our family is forever appreciative. "
