"My father was very unhappy, and I am very disappointed with Northwestern Healthcare. He doesn’t get the adequate care that he needs to. His daily regime that is ordered by the doctors isn’t followed. I have found him two days in a row in the same clothes. He is supposed to get eye care because he has had eye surgery and problems in the past which means warm compresses on his eyes once or twice a day and drops, and he has had problems which indicate they haven't done that. I warned them that he was someone with early onset to mid stage dementia, which has been clinically diagnosed. He needed to have an alarm on his bed and on his chair because he might be prone to wandering, and toward the end of July, he fell and knocked his head, and he had a tennis ball size knot on his head. Finally after that, they put an alarm on his bed and his chair. The follow sup that was insisted upon by the hospital like checking his blood, they refused to do, so I have had to make appointments and get him to a blood lab to see if his blood thinner needs to be changed. He had continual care checking on the status of his eye; I had to seek a private ophthalmologist. They put on events every once in a while, but there’s not any real space for them to be a real community. They’ve got a Veteran club; there’s all the trappings of it, but there’s no follow through. Some of the nurses are fantastic, and some of the aides are very good, but they are understaffed. High turnover. The food is good, but they could do more for what they charge. The specialist Brian is terrific. They could have more staff, and they could have more individualized care. Somebody who is on a dietary requirement should be looked into. There isn’t a component of dietary awareness because some things can unduly that are just to eat. You either are very consistent, or you don’t give it to him because they thin the blood. After meals, lemonade or fruit punch. There was an incident that required hospitalization in an emergency that the facility could have prevented because they were forewarned repeatedly ahead of time, and they chose to ignore it. "

"Generations Senior Living of Berea is a clean place. There's no smell at all. My mother has an efficiency apartment that has a bedroom area, a living room, a kitchen area, and a very accessible bathroom. They housekeep for her, do her laundry, and just totally take care of her. The staff and everybody that I've met or spoken to says 'hello' and talks to you. The residents are so kind and nice. My mom is picky when it comes to her food, but she's eating it. They have all sorts of stuff going on every day, too."

"My mom is in Southern Hills Skilled Nursing & Rehab. It's been a very good experience, the staff is cooperative, informative, everything that they can do with this pandemic going on. We can see her, but you have to talk to her through windows and doors. They've been very cooperative, I highly recommend them. She likes the food, and she's enjoying it. It looks clean from the outside, it's very well kept. We had a problem with them at first with billing issues and applying for Medicaid, but once we got it worked out, it was fine."

"My mom is at Berea Center. I couldn't be happier after multiple other places could not care for my mom. The staff treat me and her with respect. I know it looks older inside because I looked around at other places, but the care they give my mom means more to me. "

"Century Oak was beautiful. It had shiny floors and shiny tables. When you came in the door, there is a piano, and the people were right there to greet you. It had a homey type of atmosphere. Again, security was there. It was very nice. I'm disabled myself, and I was kind of tired so I went just outside for a while, then one of the staff members asked if they could help me and I was really impressed with that. They couldn't have been nicer. I would say that the rooms were big enough. Their dining facility was really nice. It was handicap accessible because the doors open up by themselves. I saw they were singing around the piano, and they seemed very happy. There was also a patio outside, and if they were able, they could go outside. It was really pretty. I would definitely recommend them because if I had to rehabilitate myself -- which I may have in the future -- if I could go there, that's where I would go. "

"My mother had a great experience at Parkside Villa. She was there for rehab, and the staff did a wonderful job with her. Their therapists are the best, and it is a beautiful place. "

"MY LATE HUSBAND AND LATE STEPFATHER WERE BOTH IN THIS HOME AND RECEIVED EXCELLENT AND LOVING CARE. THE STAFF LOVED THE MEN IN MY LIFE AND MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF OUR FAMILIES. "

"Terrible. After having my family member in their care for a week, they actually didn't know why he was there despite the hospital providing ask the standard discharge paperwork and physicians notes, despite a family member visiting to speak to staff, and despite a phone call from another family member. They gave the patient the wrong information about the medical condition that landed him in rehab, saying it was temporary (it's permanent), and they argued with a family member about a separate diagnosis of a degenerative disease which he's been in treatment for for several years, saying they didn't think he had that diagnosis. Wow! They've spoken to a family member and the patient about his being there long term while the doctor's orders are for a short stay. They have confused other basic information as well. They've argued with a family member about how POA works, saying their doctor would have to give permission for the designated family to invoke it, which is not true. The hospital the patient was discharged from was unhappy to beat about this mess. That The patient and family can't wait to get the patient the heck out of there. The floor staff have been friendly and seem to be doing their best. It's the manager level professionals who've left my family shocked. The ineptitude, blaming, and excuses have been unacceptable. The patient has also complained about their confusion and lack of information. "

"My mother was at Royal Oak after surgery. The facility was VERY clean (and COVID Free!), no foul odors. Nurses & Aids were knowledgeable and took care of mom's needs. Therapy was started quickly and it was tremendous how they treated her and really focused on what she needed to be able to do to go home- took or returned phone calls in a timely manner. Food was good and alternates were also offered. A big impression was how in touch the Administrator and Nurse Director was w/mom & family- never made us feel we were putting them out, answered our questions and calmed our anxiety. Thank You Royal Oak for the GREAT care and kindness- and mostly for helping my mom go HOME. We will return if ever a need."

"My husband is getting skilled care at North Park Care Center. I love it there, and we can visit him every day. He's doing rehab right now. He plays bingo. They have activities. The food is OK. It's a very, very good place. People are caring, and they care for the residents' needs. The staff is very friendly. I have no problems with them, and I like them. The facility is brand-new."

"I found a place for my mother, and we like it very much. It is called Villa Camillus, and she is in their memory care. I checked around a bunch of them, and this was the best one I found. I like the looks of it -- it doesn't look like a nursing home. It is very homey, the care is very good, and they still have their dignity and are able to get up and walk around if they like in a controlled area, a safe environment. The food is good, and they have a lot of activities. It is just very nice. They have a person that comes in and does sing-along things, and they have where you can come as a family and reserve an area to be alone with your family in a living room setting. It is just very nice, and I like it very much. I would like them to do a little more toileting with her sometimes, but they have gotten better with that because she can be continent and can be incontinent. Other than that, everything is great. "

"My friend was at O'Neill Healthcare. The overall experience was very good. It was excellent. They have nice outdoor areas. They have lots of visual stimulation in the hallways. It's clean, and the rooms are comfortable. The facilities are very nice. They also have a nice outdoor area. The staff are excellent. They had a regular activity director who was coming in the memory care place, doing things every day and interacting with everybody. They have parties, different games, TVs, and intergenerational parties. The place is very clean. The dining area was nice. My friend was in assisted living there and she enjoyed going down to the dining room."

"My brother was at the nursing home part of the Renaissance. Our experience was excellent. The service and the staff were tremendous. They're always there for anything he needs. The grounds are beautiful and it's right up a golf course."

"Therapy department was excellent, I was able to walk after only 6 weeks. Nursing care also very good, staff was pleasant and truly cared about my injury. Would recommend to anyone searching for therapy after surgery. "
