"They treat my grandma well at the facility. She can move about as she likes and they have alot of activities to keep her busy. The staff is wonderful and is always helping everyone get around and to where they need to go. She always has good things to say about the food there as well when we visit. They have a beautiful landscape as well. We often go outside during our visits as they have a large amount of property. There is a gazebo with chairs and tables out in front and also plenty of benches to sit on under the trees. When the weather is nice we often do our visiting out there, which is never a problem with the staff. When we call to talk to grandma, we are not put on hold for long periods either, they are quick to get her to the phone and never give you a hard time. She has her hair done every week there as well and she looks great when they're done. They play games and have a flat screen tv in the main area of the facility. She really seems to like the place and talks with the other residents alot. We enjoy visiting with her there, it's always a pleasant experience. "

"The facility is clean, staff are friendly, competent, and effectively communicate with family members in relation to the progression or deterioration of the patient or resident. Staff does well with documenting details in terms of patient care or injury and do not restrain nor over-medicate uncooperative individuals. They allow residents as much freedom as possible while still ensuring their well-being is not over-looked. Several residential rooms allow for individuals to have their own bedroom furnished with their own belongings and furniture and private lavatory, which allow for greater comfort and privacy, beneficial to both the resident and their visitors. Enclosed outdoor space is also available to patients, however, implementation of greater aesthetics and gardening could benefit the space which many residents enjoy. "

"Nurses were very helpful and kind. The facility was kind of run down, however they made the best of it. The rehabilitation center was fabulous! The activities they have for the residents are very engaging and easy for those that had difficulties. The food was superb. Some of the Nursing Assistants didn't know what they were doing. The STNA's could have had more training and some could do with some sensitivity training. The Alzheimer's Unit is completely locked down with pin codes that everyone needs in order to leave. Which makes the unit great. They could do with changing the codes every now and then to make sure no one who isn't supposed to leave do so. The doors to the facility are locked down as well which is nice. I love that they decorate the facility for different holidays and have trick-or-treating for the children of the staff and residents. "

"I looked at everything there in Anchor Lodge Retirement Village. I looked at everything they had. It's very nice. The people are very nice and it's a lovely place. It's on the shore of Lake Erie, and visions of the lake are rare. I live on the shore of Lake Erie, and consequently, there was some connection there, but I just liked it. The folks that I met were very nice, but it's their job to be nice. The dining area was a room full of tables. We were there in the morning. We walked through it, and we looked at whatever she pointed out. I just had a good feeling about it. They seemed to be doing a nice job. I only met one person, and she was very nice. The building is not new, but it is very nice and well looked after."

"I visited St Mary of the Woods. I spoke with four different people; the physical therapist, the lady that gave me the tour, and a couple of other caregivers, and I was very amazed. They have many activities for both people that are there for long term and short term. I was very amazed that they have bingo and road trips. I am very pleased with what they offer. They have a dining area for people that don't want to eat in their room. They have spaces outside their room and small tables that you could use if you didn't want to mingle with anybody. It's very close to my home, it's very convenient. The people that I spoke with were very helpful."

"My mom was here. They were very friendly and helpful, but I'm still waiting to get some of my mom's items back. I will feel better once I get some of these things back from them. They were going to contact me yesterday, but they never did. I sent some pictures of what I thought my mom was missing like her phone and a picture of her great-grandchild, so I'm going to have to wait until they contact me. My mom started there in the Covid unit and then she was moved to memory care. The nurses that I talked to were very helpful and very positive. I was able to talk to my mom several times. There were people there that tried to make sure that I was able to communicate with my mom. They had a cell phone that they used for that. I would say the staff that I dealt with were very helpful. The couple of the nurses that I worked with were really confident about my mom. I could tell that they enjoyed working with her and that made me feel good. The facility looked nice, but it was hard to see my mom's room. I was only in the entryway. I never had a meal, but my mom thought the food was OK."

"The rooms seemed a lot nicer at Towne Center, and it’s fairly-new. It’s big, but has a homey feel. I looked at some of the independent-living apartments, and it was really nice. The people seemed fine. "

"My brother is in Westlake Rehab & Nursing Center. He told me he liked the place. He doesn't like the food, but he likes everything else. For him, it's not that tasty, but it looks healthy. The place is very clean, and they take the residents out to activities which was great. They have several levels of care."

"My father is here. It is better than where he was at. I like it. The main issue was that he could have his pet with him there (because his cat is his whole world and more important than me). It was a more of a homey environment, as opposed to a hospital setting. It's not as institutionalized feeling. It looks like a Swiss chateau. It's nestled back in the woods. I didn't even know they were there, and I've lived in that neighborhood for over 30 years. The staff are excellent. They are really, really helpful. They call me any time anything happens or if they're going to do anything. Physical therapy comes in, and they let me know when they are there. They keep me abreast of visitations and what's going on. I'm very happy with them. My father loves their food. He is happy with his meals. I have seen him doing arts and crafts, but I haven't been up there when activities are going on. They give him a haircut once a month. They just took my father to go get his eye exam done, which was not free, but it was very reasonable. The fact of having that is a nice option. The staff have been phenomenal from day one. My father is in a locked ward. He can get access to the other parts of the facility, but he has to have someone with him. He doesn't have free range of the whole place. He can't go outside on his own because he has to be monitored, so he doesn't wander off. They have an ice cream or a malt shop in there. They have an actual bar in there."

"My stepmother has moved into Rae Ann Suburban. The staff is very friendly, very helpful, and cordial. Anytime you call, they're just always too polite and never hateful. They never act like you're bothering them. My stepmother said they take good care of her. She's in a shared room. They have physical therapy and medical staff there. They have a salon where they can cut their hair. They have a library and stuff like that for the people. Sometimes she says the food is good, and sometimes she says it's not. It's every bit worth the money. It's a beautiful place. They have movie time. Mom said that they were playing bingo and doing some puzzles. The lawn is gorgeous. They have a big gazebo out in the backyard where residents can go out and sit. The grounds are just really pretty. She likes to read all the time and they have a library. She said she was done with just about every book that was in the library and she was starting over again. She just doesn't have a way of getting around to go places. They have a van that would take you places if it's an emergency. She would like to be able to go in the van to take her to the grocery store or whatever, but they did take her to the bank one day and they were only like two-tenths of a mile from the nursing home. She said, "I just wish that they would take us out more in the van to take us out places.""

"We thought Joshua Tree was very nice. We were looking for respite care because we had a vacation planned before my uncle came to live with us, and I needed somewhere while we went on vacation. So we went up there, and the facility was wonderful. It was close to my home and other relatives who could easily visit. However, it was a smaller facility, and they wouldn’t be able to tell me until about a week before we left whether or not they'd have room for him. I had a tour with the admissions counselor, and she was very nice and answered all of my questions. Their assisted living is brand new. It is quite elegant and very beautiful. The skilled care is their original older building, but they have done a wonderful job of their renovations to it."

"I like Bradley Bay Health Center; it’s well run. She just came out of acute therapy, and she just moved over the weekend. The facility is very well cared for. It’s smaller and nice for my mom. The room was small but very nice -- perfect for one elderly person. It was very clean, repainted and recarpeted before she moved in. It had a good feel to it. Staff was very caring. All the activities were well-organized. They had a good person who does the field trips on a monthly basis, so there’s lots of activities lined up. There’s a flower garden, and you have access to it around the facility. "

"We are at The Renaissance. We have been here for about a year and a half, and we are satisfied. Our villa is fine. They refurbished it entirely before we came. They put in a fireplace for us, and there is a screened-in porch that they completely enclosed and remodeled. They seem to have an awful lot of activities, but frankly we don't take advantage of many of those because we're living independently. One time each month, they go out to lunch somewhere on the other side of town, and they also go out to dinner once a month. They have very good transportation. We are quite pleased with the surroundings. What really stands out? At least from where we are, there is plenty of space both inside and outside. We have our own garage, and out the back, it faces eventually onto a golf course. The golf course goes all the way around The Renaissance, so it is quite spacious. Especially in the spring, it is magnificent. They have two or three rather large ponds with ducks and all. So it's the grounds that stand out. "
