Avenue At North Ridgeville

My mother was at Avenue at North Ridgeville Care and Rehabilitation Center. They were awful. The care there was terrible. If the residents had incontinence problems and it happened to be near mealtime, they would not change them. There were times when my mom would be left in soiled sheets and stuff for hours. Hours! It was terrible. The food was not good. It wasn't good most of the time. In terms of activities, she wasn't capable of doing activities at that point in time, and so I was more concerned about making sure her needs were being met. She was supposed to be receiving physical therapy, but half the time, they didn't have her ready to go, so she didn't get it. It was really bad. Literally, I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. They were terrible. There were a few staff members who were pretty good, but I would say overall, they were pretty bad. There was one girl who was blatantly rude to me when I told her she needed to change my mother after she had been sitting in poop for two hours. "Well, I'm doing lunch right now. I can't do that. And our nurse will come tell you the same thing." They need to improve patient care.

My father is in a nursing home called Avenue At North Ridgeville and so far, he likes it. I think that all nursing homes are kind of short-staffed so I would say staffing is somewhat of a concern but not a major one. Other than that, it's a very nice and clean facility and they treat him really well. The food is good too and he's happy there.
